The SL Renaissance Festival Uniting Medieval Role Play
Communities to Crusade Against Breast Cancer has announced schedule details for
the `o day event to be held September 25th through October 4th.
The new community based fundraising event takes up the crusade against breast
cancer in support of the American Cancer Society Strides Campaigns in Second
Life.
The Festival opens at 2pm on Friday, September 25th with the
Parade of Knights. Representing the many different roleplay realms, the Knights
will march through the regions to the Opening Ceremony at the Minstrel’s Corner
entertainment area. Following the ceremony Second Life residents can wander the
regions, take part in activities and shop, with all proceeds going to help the
American Cancer Society win the fight against breast cancer.
Covering 6 regions, the Festival features more than 40
Medieval merchants in 2 shopping regions, tournaments and Jousts and more than
70 hours of entertainment by some of Second Life’s most talented performers.
Among the highlights will be the Traveler’s Camp, with
Gachas, and both One Of A Kind and Silent Auctions. The Kings Court Academy
will feature classes for anyone interested in learning about Medieval
Role-play.
Linden Lab will join the Festival as Lindens and Moles are
brought to the Pillory from 1 to 3pm on October 2nd to atone for
their crimes and misdemeanors against the members of the Second Life community.
Vegetables will be provided!
The SL Renaissance Festival has something for everyone, From
the opening Parade of Heroes to the closing Royal Gala - So polish your armor,
saddle your steed and join us, September 25 through October 4th and help us
vanquish Breast Cancer.
