Brother and Sister Team Up in Second Life to Support Relay for Life (2009)

It was eight years ago yesterday that the Second Life Newspaper, the predecessor paper to the Newser, printed an article by Nazz Lane about the Relay for Life in Second Life. While the main season was over, one woman continued to raise funds on behalf of her brother. Nazz found the story interesting and heartwarming, and so met up with her for an interview.

Tonight Live WIth Paisley Bebe, 23 August (2009)

One of Second Life Newspaper's star reporters was Nazz Lane. In August 2009, it was he whom was being the one interviewed when he was interviewed by Paisley Bebe on "Tonight Live," an SL TV show that was taped in front of an audience. Shelie Sands wrote about the interview, as well as the two other people Paisley had on her show that night, AMForte Clarity and Wiz Norber.

Inworldz First Annual Fantasy Art Festival Announced

Nazz Lane sent us a Press Relase from Inworlds, concerning a festival in the virtual world Inworldz.

Following on the heels of the highly successful "Inworldz Dreamz & Visionz" festival, the founder of Alexanderia's Kingdom, Jeri Rajha, is pleased to announce the organization of the "Fantasy Art Festival" to be held in the virtual world of InWorldz. The festival is being hosted by the Elf Clan. This festival will be a juried event and applications are being received now for up to 35 plots (31 land and 4 water plots) for individuals or for teams of artists. Plots will be allocated on the 16th of January, and the group assignment/tag will be given out. The building will be completed by February 3 rd. Then the artists works will be open to view and the judges will begin their selections.

CARP Announces the Release of Metaverse Art Books

The founders of Artspace Diabolus Cybernetic Art Research Project (CARP), Josina Burgess and Velazquez Bonetto are pleased to announce the publication of "Metaverse Art", a series of four books available via print on-demand. The production of the four volumes is a collaborative effort between CARP and Nazz Lane, the noted author of Lane's List a popular Second Life blog. The four volumes of Metaverse Art bring to light the creative minds of many of Second Life’s notable artists and content creators. These are the cutting edge creators, who are utilizing the virtual worlds to extend art into this newest space of human existence, the Metaverse.

In his forward to the book, DC Spensley asks, “What makes Metaverse Art interesting and important?” This is a very important question DC asks of the reader to which he provides an answer, discussing the evolution of information age media, social media and the integration them into an artistic community located in virtuality. He then concludes his forward with,”The shared virtual space for art is no less than revolutionary in that it creates a conceptual location for the next wave of art movements … this is the culture of confluence, hybridity and syncretism.”
