Press Release: Bay City's Tenth Anniversary Concert

Four performers to take to the anniversary stage

BAY CITY, SL  - As part of Bay City's Tenth Anniversary, enjoy a music extravaganza in the Bay City Fairgrounds on the 20th of May!

Performing will be GOSPEED RASERE from 12:30-1:30 p.m. SLT, followed by PARKER STATIC from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., ERIKA ORDINARY from 2:30-3:30 p.m. SLT, and finally STRATUS MACTAVISH from 3:30-4:30 p.m. SLT.

GOSPEED RASERE (12:30-1:30 P.M. SLT)
"GoSpeed is a Second Life DJ and online radio station owner, providing KONA Stream since 2007. As well as spinning classic hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and today, she is a Published author and the current reigning "Miss Bay City."

PARKER STATIC (1:30-2:30 P.M. SLT)
"Parker Static started singing at a very early age, being in a musical family her passion for singing was inevitable. With a sultry sound, Parker’s amazing voice has given her the ability to move from Pop to Ballads, Jazz, Country, RandB, Soft Rock and more. Parker has also won many awards for her singing, such as “Showtime Magazine TOP 10 performers in SL” and “The Soul Train’s Best Female entertainer of the year.” She’s fun and vivacious and her shows have something for everyone!"

ERIKA ORDINARY (2:30-3:30 p.m. SLT)
"Erika has a wonderfully expressive voice that can be powerful but also is pleasantly delicate and understated. She brings life to the songs she selects and a window to her soul in songs of her own. She plays several instruments, but primarily sticks with guitar and ukulele. She especially loves the juxtaposition of darker themed songs played on such a bright, happy instrument as the ukulele. Ask her to play In The Pines by Leadbelly or Henry Lee by Nick Cave, and you'll get the idea."

STRATUS MACTAVISH (3:30-4:30 p.m. SLT)
"Stratus sings and plays with an easy-going soft, smooth and intimate sound that draws his audience, occasionally bursting out with his powerful vocal range.  Stratus has a light guitar playing style, showcasing bright acoustic arrangements of popular songs, plus a few atypical acoustic arrangements of songs outside the acoustic genre."

Event held at the Bay City Fairgrounds in North Channel, easily accessible by boat, car, walking , or teleport, and the end location of this year's parade. Come on down!

Press Release: Mole Day Coming February 3, 2018

Annual Event Honors Members of Linden Department of Public Works

BAY CITY, SL  - It’s nearly that time of year again when we look for furry little shadows. You do have your shadows enabled, no? It's not about groundhogs -- it's about the Moles of the Linden Department of Public Works!

Initially honored in 2010 by Residents of Bay City, Mole Day is set aside to show appreciation for The Moles and their many contributions to Bay City and the rest of the Second Life® Grid.

Normally held on the same day as Groundhog Day, this year’s annual Mole Day will again take place at the Bay City Fairgrounds February 3rd commencing at 11:00 a.m. SLT. The event will feature DJ GoSpeed Racer of KONA stream followed by Stratus Mactavish performing live at 12:00 p.m. SLT.

"Moles" are members of The Linden Department of Public Works (LDPW). The LDPW is a program focused on improvements related to the experience of living on, or visiting the Linden Mainland. The LDPW organizes teams of Resident builders, artists, and scripters (the Moles!) to create new content on Linden Lab's behalf and to the benefit of all. These Residents have the last name “Mole.”

Moles essentially build all of the grid’s infrastructure: the public roads and railways, items in our coastal waterways and protected lands, and even larger scale projects like the Linden Homes regions, premium content and experiences, and much more.

Bay City is a mainland community, developed by Linden Lab® and home to the Bay City Alliance. The Bay City Alliance was founded in 2008 to promote the Bay City regions of Second Life and provide a venue for Bay City Residents and other interested parties to socialize and network. It is now the largest group for Residents of Bay City.
