Cartoon of the Day

Taken at the VWBPE. Not sure why he really chose that name, but it certainly gets people wondering.

RFL: "Fools For a Cure"

On Friday April 1, while people in Second Life and real life were pulling April Fools jokes on one another, a Relay for Life event was hosted by the Circle of Life team in the Tol Galen sim, the "Fools for a Cure" Carnival.

Join carnival host Fleure Homewood for a rolicking good time with games, rides and live music! The carnival will benefit the American Cancer Society as part of the Circle of Life Relay for Life team of Elf Circle. Come have fun and contribute to a good cause!

Porting in, there were a number of people at the live music event, either dancing away, or sitting down on the seats. The avatars were mostly humans and elves. Not everyone was near the music stage. A few were checking out some of the sights and rides. The rides included a ferris wheel and a haunted house.

The party went on all day from 4 AM to 10 PM SL time.

The Top April Fool?

Daniel Voyager made a list of what he considered the best articles related to April Fools on Second Life both this year and previous ones. Some were downright unbelievable, such as Linden Labs getting involved in genetic engineering of man-animal hybrids. Gwyenth Llewelyn did a "Class 6 Servers Are Out" article in 2009 which seemed perfectly believable to this working stiff (maybe one needs to be a serious techie to get more of the "joke"). Most were at least a little believable to get some going, "Aw, how could I fall for that?"

Daniel's top April Fool? The one we pulled this year. ;-)

It wasn't my only idea, which makes me wonder which jokes out there were put aside.

There just seems to be something about April Fools Day, at least for humorists. ;-)
