Palais Orleans Presents
By Gemma Cleanslate
The Palais Orleans Gallery 2 has
an amazing new exhibit . It is called Unified Heart 2013. The owner and
curator Morgana Nagorski of the galleries told me, “In Jan 2012 we had a
phenomenally successful exhibition - Unified Heart - where 20 artists
interpreted the words of a Leonard Cohen song of their choice. Now we are doing
it again! Thirteen of the artists from last time and eight additional ones are
participating in Unified Heart 2013. A homage to the beauty and genius of this
iconic Singer songwriter who has been a part of many lives for many
years.”
The words of the song, or poem, are next to each piece on the wall.
You can view the picture , read the song words, then view the piece again and,
perhaps , understand the artist’s interpretation. All the scenes are lovely and
so interesting in their different styles Each artist was free to chose
their own songs as they were inspired and it was interesting that only 2 artists
chose the same words.
All of the artists photos are on the inside walls so you
can see who participated in the exhibit: Aelin Quan, Acacia Merlin, Amona
Savira, Burk Bode, Callipygian Christensen, Cat Boccaccio, Corinne
Helendale, Dantelicia Ethaniel, Dixmix Source, Harbor Galaxy, Jessica Belmer, Kato
Salyut, Kira Westland, Lily Laufer, Maloe Vansant, Meilo Minotaur, Morgana
Nagorski, Petra Messioptra, Ronda Saunders, Sare Ethaniel, Skip Staheli. The gallery will host the exhibit from January 26 through April 21 so you will have a while to visit and view. You can also visit the other two galleries and those exhibits. . There will be opening parties to which you are invited on Saturday, January 26 from 6:00-8:00pm SL time or Sunday January 27 from 10:00am to noon . http://maps.secondlife.com/

Gallery 1 at Palais Orleans
You probably recall a few weeks ago I wrote about the reopening of the
newly built Palais Orleans Gallery in Gardenia Islands ( http://slnewserdesign.It displays the works of two artists, which will be the theme of Gallery 1 from now on, Maloe Vansant and Burk Bode. These are exotic and introspective pieces. Read the poem on the wall, "The Weirdo and I," which will give you a clue to the pieces, I think.
A question in the poem poses, “How much of my inner
weirdo can I show to the outside?” Something to ponder. Some of the pieces will
require a lot of thought .... in the eye of the beholder.
The exhibit runs for
about two weeks, so make sure to put it on your list. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gardenia%20Islands/125/77/2501
