How To Second Life : A Guide For Those Who Are New - Part Two

Last week, Cyfir (Cyfiremmerich Resident) wrote some helpful hints for those brand new to Second Life. Today, in his second part of the series, he has some more tips for newcomers whom are familiar with the basics (and a few whom have been around a little longer whom haven't figured them out yet). One is the Caledon Oxbridge University area which is full of help for new residents. The rest are about the viewer's Preferences menu, which can help you get to more places and make lag less of a problem, the Search function, and how to handle griefers and trolls.

How To Second Life : A Guide For Those Who Are New - Part One

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." That can describe day one of a Second Life resident who's been around for a while. But while Second Life is extremely open-ended with lots around to do, it can be confusing for a newcomer whom will find it a lot different than a quest-oriented MMO. To help out new residents overcome these seemingly daunting challenges, Cyfir (Cyfiremmerich Resident) came up with an article with tips and advice that those more experienced with the virtual world can pass to friends interested in joining, or to newcomers they come across.

Dress For Success

Syndra's Fashion story today is a little different than most. This time she offers advice about how to dress when looking for a job, or rather, how to look when applying for a job. Besides clothing, you also have to think about your hair, and with the development of mesh, things like one's hands are now details. These things can be even more important in adult entertainment where clothing isn't always involved.

SL Enquirer: Stalkers in Second Life - Welcome to the Dark Side

A few years ago we incredulously witnessed the news of a SL romance ending in real life stalking, attempt kidnapping and crime of virtual passion. Cases like this are increasingly recurrent.

In Second Life stalkers see their art made easier with more ways to torment people and with more amenities to hide behind the screen, a supposedly safe and consequence-free place to impetuously pour out their frustrations on others, therefore, exacerbating their actions.
