Sakura Matsuri

Bloodykitty stopped by a place in the Ryukyu sim known as Sakura Matsuri. A Japanese marketplace owned by More Laville, Bloodykitty spent her time not buying anything, but looking around. She enjoyed the view of the design of the buildings and area, with it's lanterns and cherry blossom trees.

CADERU 2017 Valentine

Bloodykitty is back from her hiatus and once again writing for the Newser. She recently came across a place called CADERU 2017 Valentine in Clover. The place is a cozy little shopping district where one can buy gachas and discount items.

Down South

Kelly BloodyKitty writes today about a new club in the area she used to work at: "Down South." This country-themed club in the Heracles sim has the rustic look of a converted barn. Kelly dropped by to take an in-depth look.

Torley Island

Torley Linden is a familiar name to many longtime Second Life residents. This popular Linden was known for both his watermelon-colored avatars, outfits, and other creations, and  his helpful videos, which always began with "Friendly greetings!" BloodyKitty came across his sim, "Torley Island," which while in a cyberpunk theme, had much of it done up in his trademark pink and light green.

Garden of Dreams

Bloodykitty is back from another exploration of Second Life. Today, she reviews the "Garden of Dreams." Located in the sim of the same name, while technically a store, it's very easy to forget that with all of the wilderness and forest. One can take walks along the trails, or just find a spot to just sit and relax.

Havenhollow III

BloodyKitty's travels in search of a Halloween-themed place took her to the LEA22 sim, of which their current exhibit is "HavenHollow III," by the Holiday Appreciation Association. The exhibit is a little different as it's not meant for screams and big frights, but trick or treating fun in a small town at night that's just spooky enough for a feeling that there might be something lurking in the shadows.

The AniMagical Gacha Fair

The Manga Fair

Going on until August 9 in the La Isla Hispana sim, the event offers a number of items for sale, some in gachas, from outfits, to masks, to plush dolls, and more. Nerdapalooza 2015

Welcome one and all to the Nerdapalooza 2015 event!  What is it you may ask? Well it's basically as it sounds actually. Nerdapalooza is basically an event going on from July 5th to the 11th at StormWind for all geeks, nerds, and gamers alike to come and hang out and raise funds for Relay For Life of SL. In the information section of the sim the end states that it is a fund-raiser event for the American Cancer Society. As you can see the land is very unique and of course, a geeks dream. Unfortunately there is only a few more days till it ends depending on where you live of course, but needless to say its worth checking out.

When you arrive there you are  rezzed on a warp pipe from the  beloved and famous Mario Franchise, and with your imagination you can assume you came out of said warp pipe. Around you is a small but interesting place to explore and the different buildings and other warp pipe shaped buildings lead you inside to lists of different vendors selling different items and such, which most of them seem pretty top quality nonetheless. While looking around you can also fine one or two themed ones that are centered around Minecraft and mostly Mario. Upon exploring it I came across items you can buy for your avatar, which aren't totally themed to any games in particular, more of a nerdy style though, but still wonderful!  Besides the vendors and shops there is also a little castle where you can play games or just hang out in the ball pit and yell, BAZINGA!

While there weren't really any people here when I went to check it out, there hopefully will be during the days left of the event. Besides myself I bet many of you geeks, nerds, and gamers a like would want to check this out and hang around here with your friends. Don't forget the important part of it though!; that is to try and donate to a good cause. This sim was of course made possible by a few people, but of course the sim is owned by a group instead of just one particular person. The group is called, 'NFC RFL Designers and Bloggers'. I hope everyone who attends the event has a swell time there!

SL12B: The Welcome Area and Station

There is an event going on, the SL12B that runs from June 21st to the 28th of June. The information has also included that the sim is also open on the 4th of July for residents to explore the particular location. This event is celebrating the birthday of Second Life, but in a cool way with tons of events. When you first arrive you are greeted with a spooky scene, but also a beautiful one if you change your lighting (or the sun settings). 

There were two people greeting (at the moment I was there) that go by Londyn2, as well as another girl but she had left before I got a chance to see her name. What was a positive for me right away was that they instantly helped me and asked if I needed any information on the sim and the event, I said I do.

Upon getting an info card if you request one by one of the fabulous hosts, it tells you on what's going on, as well as that you get two gifts which include a party hat and a flag. Aside from that there is a map of the whole place via a texture sort of file, landmarks to the major venues, and a schedule for the events going on around the land. It is when you go down from where you are greeted that the fun begins. There are teleports to different locations to different places in the sim to help people easily get around, which is a plus for me. 

What I found the best part in my opinion of the experience was that they had a train station and an actual train. It totally reminded me of Harry Potter, which unfortunately the train does not move, but it doesn't totally take away a good experience. If you look closer though you can see the station is in ruins as well as that the back of the train is all messed up. Just use your imagination on what may of happened!

Overall the world is large in itself if you take time to explore it, and there are different activities to enjoy while searching around. Because of it being a large sim and how many locations there are to teleport to, I haven't had the opportunity to exactly explore everything like I'd hope before this was put up. I believe that just touching base on the important details helps people who'd love to visit and check the place out. Have fun!

Feed a Smile at The Lavender Field

This time of year in Second Life is known for it's events for the Relay for Life. But it is not the only charity going on in Second Life. BloodyKitty dropped by an event for "Feed A Smile" this Sunday. Taking place in the sim of the same name in "The Lavender Field," the event raises funds to feed children in Kenya.

Mauve

Second Life has plenty of places where there's parties going on, places to shop, and lots of flashy effects. But what if you want to go somewhere and just take it easy. One such place you can go to is Mauve. It's out of the way, but not too far away from some popular places. Not too many people come here, so it's good for those who like a little solitude.
