Sunbeamer Team "Skunked," "De-Skunking" Party Today

"What's that smell?" someone commented in the Relay group.

One of the ways Relay teams can prank one another is to "skunk" them. This whimsical stunk has been apparently based on the "purple potty' jokes real-life Relay teams have been known to do. It hasn't happened too often this year. So when people looked in the team totals yesterday, there was a surprise. A cartoon skunk was prancing across our team's name.

WE HAVE BEEN SKUNKED

We have been Skunked, with the Special 'STINKY' Kiosk, until June 9, 9:50 PM, to reduce the time we are skunked, you have to donate to the SPECIAL KIOSK, that Stinky is attached too.  He is currently located somewhere at The Happy Vixen Beach Club.   So come help us out and get rid of the Skunk at the Party!

In March, the Relay Rockers had been skunked, and Team Sunbeamers was among those sending members to their "Skunk Aid" party. Team Sunbeamers will be having a similar event, a "De-Skunking" party at the Happy Vixen today at 4PM SLtime. As this is a fundraiser event, people are asked to keep themselves decent, and the tipjars will be hidden or covered up: donate to a Sunny Relay kiosk instead. Donating to the one with the plush skunk will reduce the time that the Sunbeamer team is considered skunked.

There will be a contest with 250 Lindens on the board (once four people are on it) for the best in theme, skunk avatars orblack and white outfits. Already, the time has been reduced a few hours by donations made on Monday. With a little luck, "Stinky" will soon be gone, and the only skunks around will be the two-legged variety.

RFL Sunbeamer Skunk Party Tonight at Club Zero Gravity

Tonight at 6PM SL time, the Relay for Life Sunbeamer team will be holding a Skunk Party. Their second one this year, the event is both a tribute to the Relay mascot "Stinky the Skunk," and a chance to get your favorite mephit avatar for a little skunky fun. Don't have a skunk avatar? Feel free to show up in a black and white outfit.

Lindens donated into the Relay kiosks go to the American Cancer Society.

Sunbeamers' RFL Skunk Party

On Thursday April 3rd, the Relay for Life team "Sunbeamers," made up mainly of residents from the Sunweaver and Angels communities, held their first event of the year at Club Zero Gravity.With the Relayers doing the team "skunkings" for the second year in the row, leading to numerous skunk jokes, it was decided to have the theme as a "Skunk party."

Heads up! Tonight from 6 to 8PM, Club Zero Gravity, will he hosting a skunk party for the Sundreamer team in honor of the Relay for Life in SL's "Stinky the Skunk" (http://relayforlifeofsecondlife.org/stinky/). So get your stinker av's ready, and let's SKUNK CANCER!

Perri Prinz was the DJ for the event. Normally a Kani bunnygirl, for tonight she was a perky pink mephit. She entertained the crowd with songs appropriate for the event, such as "Love Stinks," "That Smell," and "Boogie in the Butt."

Not everyone present was with the Sunbeamers. The Skunk Lovers group had heard of the party, and some decided to drop in to help fill the club with some more black and white. Close to two dozen made the fundraiser.

Among those showing up was Stinky himself from the Relay.

Over 4300 Lindens were raised in the event, putting the Sunbeamers over the 20K mark at 23,400.

But this isn't the only Sunbeamer event this week. On Saturday, the team will be having it's air show. The event goes from 8AM to 4PM at Pacific Waters.

Club Zero Gravity is at Purrfection Estates (232, 35, 3340), and normally has events Tuesdays and Thursday from 6 to 8 PM SL time.

On Thursday April 3rd at 6PM SL time, The Relay for Life's Sunbeamer team will be holding it's first event in Second Life at Club Zero Gravity. For the second year in a row, "Stinky the skunk" and "skunkings" have been a part of they Relay in SL (http://relayforlifeofsecondlife.org/stinky/). And so in honor of the Relay's new mascot, we're holding a skunk party. This is for all of you stinkers out there with a skunk as their main avatar, or have one in your inventory that you wear on occasion.

So come on over and give a black and white tailed salute to the Relay, as well as donating to the Sunbeamer's fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
