The Purrl Ballroom And Champagne Beach

 By Bixyl Shuftan

At Haven Woods is a new venue, The Purrl Ballroom And Champagne Beach, sometimes just called "The Purrl." The place is owned by Miss Karlie Cobalt (karliekarliekarlie Resident). I recently met up with her, and we had a talk about the locations.

We met up at a beach. Karlie was with two other women, Bird and Fawn Cobalt. She greeted me, "This is our Champagne Beach & Merquarium," she explained, "We also have The Purrl Ballroom and Casino on sim. We alternate shows between the two."

She would say they had been around for four months, "Built the sim on the land an older club let go. They closed down on a Friday and we opened on the Monday. Of course, it wasn't quite as detailed as it is now." She would say events were held on both the beach and club, "The beach is beach party and pop singers. The ballroom is more traditional jazz, blues and standards. But we welcome people anywhere on the sim. If people want to sit on the beach and enjoy the night, or swim in the merquarium and listen to the music, we encourage that."

Karlie pointed out some spooky pumpkins and dancing skeletons nearby, "We just decorated for Halloween here over the weekend, still working out what we're going to do for Halloween inside the ballroom/casino, but it will be very tasteful. ... We're planning some unique Halloween events and contests."

She pointed out a lounge chair large enough for a couple, "The Purrl Ballroom & Casino and Champagne Beach & Merquarium are open 24/7 for anyone who wants to either snuggle on the beach with their loved one to some jazz, or play at the casino. The entrances to the beach and from the beach to the ballroom are now more clearly marked to help people around the sim."

Karlie showed me what looked like a giant fishtank, with arches, corals, and numerous fish and other critters inside, "The merquarium gives a full view of Champagne Beach and the glass is two-way at the front. We have photo poseballs set up, and water dances." Because the water dances involve lots of swimming around, it's recommended girls in short skits using them wear "dance pants" panties.

"The merqarium is a Safe Waters Foundation approved hangout, and is designed for merfolk," Karlie would say, "but anyone can swim in there if they choose to."

She would then take me to the club building, "Welcome to the Ballroom and Casino." After we got past a few paparazzi bots, she pointed to one corner where there were a few casino games, "We have games for one to six players. Right now baccarat, roulette, and slots. But will be adding video poker this week." After someone nearby made a joke about strip poker, there were a few minutes of chuckles.

Then Karlie cleared her throat and pointed to the dance floor, "We have dances for 50 couples available in the ballroom, and 60 or so singles dances." I also saw a couple formal outfit givers, one for men, one for women. She would add, "The build was designed around having as little lag as possible. Every running script has been minimized to consume the smallest resources. We've had 72 people on sim without an issue, even with the light shows." After asking me to set my viewer to Midnight, she took down the roof, and launched one, adding, "If you cam out, you'll see the beach fireworks."

She would also say, "We have a unique 'flower drop that showers the ballroom floor at the end of the night with flowers. We also have a stage with setup for full band, rezzable guitars, stage animations, piano, drums. ...We have many live singers."

Karlie would say, "The club sims are part of the Black Purrl Group, which also includes two airlines, a bus line, boat tours, rail travel, and vacations through the Travel & Adventure group. ,,, we also have a purpose built live restaurant. One of our pilots fly couples to the restaurant sim, and they're greeted by Rolls Royce and driven a short distance to the restaurant and served by live service staff. The restaurant is La Perle Noire. It's booking only, which we drive from announcements here at the club."

Karlie had been on Second Life earlier, but ended up taking a break that lasted close to ten years. Coming back, the obvious difference was there was a lot more mesh and working mirrors. But she also noticed somethint else, "Places and groups have become more insular, less welcoming, which is one of the drivers behind opening The Purrl venues. It's also way more XXX driven than before. Almost every sim is setup for that these days. We don't have any adult furniture here on sim, because we want to encourage romance and relationships over anything else. I would like The Purrl to be a melting pot of people of differnet experiences and walks of life, all under one roof to enjoy the music and atmosphere. And learn how to love again not hate."

In the future, Karlie plans to have some Christmas events after Halloween. She also plans to offer a little more for the tinies, "We have a fair sized dinkie community here. Unfortunnately, I don't have any dinkie offerings right now."

"What we're really looking to do is create a warm, welcoming environment for music lovers in all different shapes and sizes. And, hopefully, bring a little sparkle into people's lives."

The Blues Furs Are Back In SL

Some people remember the Blues Furs, musicians who had a love of blues and other forms of music. But last year, they had to put their act on hiatus due to real-life. Recently Joilet Bandit (JBRaccoon), the senior member of the team, contacted me to say the Blues Furs will soon be making music once more.

"I am back into doing music sets in SL again," Joilet told me, three days a week, music and live singing I do, three different venues to try and help my hooman friends too." I asked what the three venues were. He answered they were Water Goddess Beach at Palmetta (43/210/21), owned by Whitewolf, one high above the Saoirse sim at (99/79/3939), "my friend Culli's region, and Lone Star County, in the Lone Star City sim at (245/105/23). The last one is Joilet's own location.

The other half of the Blues Furs is Jensen, "We are still a team for the show, with his new job it cuts into when we can do a show but I try my best to work around that." It was brought up that his name had been changed since the Blues Furs started, "He went by Biohazard however due to someone else using the same name and creating lots of trouble. He changed to Jensen to avoid confusion."

We ended talking up more about the Blues Furs' home location, which is based on the "Blues Brothers" movie. He send me a screenshot (left), "That's home, and where that photo was taken. And yes, the Chicago PD cars have Illinois Plates and the state car has an actual replica of the state PD plates used back then.

Joilet then showed me another, showing one of the police cars from behind, "The car number on the plate is a mismatch but those are hard to get accurate (laugh). That plate number is from one of the actual cars used in the big chase at the end of the movie. Still working on the final touches to my cars for The Blues Furs but almost done there as well."

Joilet would say that besides the three events each week, "Gonna also do a special Halloween show the Friday before, with a couple prizes. ... Friday the 27th, I will be hosting a Halloween Party  and if schedules allow, The Blues Furs will make a special appearance (laughter). It's a tossup between Wolf's place or home. I have to discuss with my event coordinator to see what she thinks will be best."

When I asked if there was anything else he wanted to mention about the Lone Star Country location, he chuckled, "That's where we [The Blues Furs] were last reported being, hiding out still hahahaha local PD [LSCPD] is following some leads. I'll get some more pics as I can, I need to check-out the LSCPD cars so we can set them in various places with the ISP. Hehehehe."

So the Blues Furs are back and determined to make some fun in Second Life, "especially with a live singing huscoon."

Advert: M&M Creations' Cottage Boiseau

I have always loved writing the stories about my life whilst building my cottages. Tales of discoveries and daydreams, some happy, some sad, some fantastical!

Stories of meeting so many interesting people  .....And every one of them is a precious gem in my jewel box of Life, that helped to while away the days spent creating.

But this cottage, Boiseau - was different.

The creation of this cottage was driven by love - not a daydream, not a fantasy....but a love found. The pure, driven energy of love has propelled me to create this latest build almost overnight ..or so it seems!

I dedicate this Cute Tiny Cottage Boiseau to Laure, my love.

Technical info:

- footprint 20x20 meter
- landimpact 43
- scripted doors and windows with sound
- designed with rendervolumelodfactor at 2

Fanci's Deep Mer Mall

For Second Life residents interested in the more aquitic side of virtual life, one place aimed at them is the Fanci's Deep Mer Mall.

"When we opened the sim, there were to be three parts, all mermaid based - because the sim was built in honor of Fanci," Grace (GraceSWF Wrigglesworth), the head of the Safe Waters Foundation explained, "The three areas were  Residential Area, Mer Mall and the Safe Waters Foundation headquarters - sort of a full service concept. Our residential lands are always sold out. When a parcel becomes available - it rents within days. Safe Waters Foundation manages the area for the owners, and has grown to be quite a good resource. We've expanded into what we call aquatics because divers like our areas - as well as all sorts of creatures."

While the mall is made to look like "an old ruin," the build is "modern, high tech, great for fun and exploring." There's a teleport system that can take people to other places in the vicinity such as the "the Chat Pavilion, Cuddle Area, Free Merfolk tail, (and the) entrance to the mermall and residential areas."

Of the shops in the mall, "We have two of the top Mermaid AO makers at the mall already. Kami Hitoe is there,  and Tala AO. The aquatic clocks are one of my favorite shops. Tir Na Nog is there. They have lovely mer tails."

For a limited time offer, a special pricing offer is available for anyone interesting in getting a booth: two months for the price of one. The offer is valid until May 15, 2021 or until all the booths are rented (whichever happens first).

Club Twenty-Twenty

Club Twenty-Twenty is a promising new club high above the New Jacksboro sim. It's owner, Agath Aconitum (Agathrrr Resident), recently showed me the place. The interior was full of red and black, red curtains in front of dark walls, red velvet plush chairs on a red rug with black leather cushions, and of course red carpet treatment from it's staff.

The middle of the dance floor is a spinning record with the club logo. When I was there, there was a small part with several people, humans and furs, partying away. There was a DJ on stage performing music to the crowd. When tipped, there was a shower of balloons soon after.

Talking to Agath, she told me the club would start by having one to three events on the weekend, but this should soon grow. She mentioned escort services were welcome here, but no fights between the girls were allowed inside the club, "while inside the club, I will just let nice girls work." No harassment was permitted, and both management and security would be on the watch for it.

Agath also pointed out the nearby "Paw District," just behind an iron bar gate in a brick wall. There was a garden area with trees and campfires. Just over a bridge were some nearby buildings. One on the second floor offered two detailed photoboxes, "so visitors can come over here to take new profile pics." Another building had a lot of games, "this is our Gamehall, with maybe one of the biggest collection of playable games, also for everyone. (smile)" There were a number of flash-enabled arcade games. But there were others, such as Triumph, Lifestyle, and Clued-Up, Second Life inspirations of Risk, Life, and Clue.

Agath mentioned in the future, she was hoping there would be some roleplay on the streets just outside the club, such as a priest for "Las Vegas" style weddings, "We are searching staff members of all kinds, even individuals are welcome to contact me. The only thing for everyone who wants to work here is, that they should be very openminded, tolerant, nice and playing with open cards to the others. We want it be a team success, not a personal success by me."

The club's next events are Friday (today) at 4PM, and Saturday, also at 4PM

It's clear to see you should give Club Twenty-Twenty a look. It's a club with vision.

Press Release: The Ian's Realm Saga Audiobook

Amehana Ishtari (Teresa Garcia) Second Life Fantasy Author and Trotsdale Library Narrator has Narration on Audible.com

Somewhere around two years ago Amehana Ishtari (Arashi) AKA in real-life Teresa Garcia began narrating and recording "The Ian's Realm Saga Trilogy: Book 1" for fantasy author, artist, & screen writer D.L. Gardner. Books One through Three released on August 27 2019 on Gumroad for direct purchase and download. They had been available for pre-order and released shortly after each audiobook sub-project was ready and approved. Once all three parts were finished and ready they there then ported to other retailers via FindAWay Voices by D.L. Gardner herself.

The pair, both female fantasy authors and artists, met via Facebook through author circles. Amehana does not remember exactly how nor which of the various groups. Teresa noticed that Mrs. Gardner needed a narrator and offered her services, as at the time fellow narrator and Trotsdale Librarian Illya Leonov was too busy to mention the project to... and she needed the work herself to help support her family.

The trilogy book follows the story of Ian Wilson, a teenager who becomes sucked into a world of magic and danger with his father through a portal within their computer. The tale blends science fiction and fantasy genres seamlessly. Prophecy has foretold the pair arriving through a window to forever rid The Realm of the evil dragon and its sorcery. The overall tale continues beyond the first three books to cover various side stories that together will tell the full fate of a land and a lad.

The Ian's Realm Saga is the winner of the Book Excellence Award for a series 2019. The book has also been turned into a proof of concept short film with FireRing Productions that has been circulating various film festivals around the world and won several awards and nominations. The intent is to have the book series become a movie.

Mrs. Gardner will continue working on the Ian's Realm books and prospective movie. Amehana (Teresa) plans to continue with the Trotsdale Library as well as return to working on the second book of her "Selkies' Skins" and the "Mythical Minstrelsy" series (and other books) along with running her Flash Fiction Fridays podcast and any illustration or narration that comes to her via her publishing company or freelancing channels.

New Blog Devoted to Virtual Sex and Romance

A new blog features discussions and information about sex, romance, and related issues in virtual worlds: virtualsexromance.wordpress.com. (Note that there is no “and” or “&”).

Sex and romance are among the most popular pursuits in SL.As in real-life, they occasion many questions and discussions, which the new blog will cover.

“I’ve had interesting talks in Second Life about virtual relationships,” said Eugene Rodgers, who created the blog. “For instance, does a person in a committed real-life relationship cheat if they have virtual sex with someone else? And why is BDSM popular in SL? Contributions to my blog should prove enlightening.”

Rodgers is the author of “Femme Fatale Online,” a mystery novel with an unidentified villain who acts through an avatar in a virtual world like Second Life. “She tries to seduce the married hero into a virtual sexual relationship,” Rodgers said. “He agonizes over whether to go along. I first planned a blog to address this and other issues raised in the ebook, but decided there was a greater need to focus entirely on sex and romance.”

Rodgers is restricting the blog to serious discussions and legitimate questions. “I’ll remove any salacious material or improper solicitations that may be posted,” he said.

Blog topics include:
Best places to make friends and go on dates
Questions and advice about virtual relationships
Is it acceptable for a committed person to pursue virtual sex or romance?
Meeting in RL
LGBT and BDSM
Best clothing-free sites
The Future—How will virtual reality affect online sex and romance?

Free Book Offer Extended!

The Kindle mystery novel, “Femme Fatale Online,”whose unknown villain appears only as a sexy avatar, will continue to be offered free to SL participants through Sunday, September 9.

To get your complimentary of the enovel by Eugene Rodgers, email a request to  rodgersmystery@gmail.com (your SL anonymity is safe since you don’t have to disclose your avatar or RL names). Include the word “Newser” in the email.

You will receive a PDF copy, the same as we send to professional reviewers. (Amazon doesn’t allow authors to give out free copies in the same form as books ordered from them). You can read the book on Kindles, tablets, computers, and phones.

The book captivates readers with its story of an avatar who blackmails the hero, Rick, into industrial espionage and threatens the lives of him and his family. Detailed information on the book and author can be found on the book’s Amazon page (go to Amazon.com, search for “Femme Fatale Online,” and click on the title when it comes up) and on the book’s Facebook page (facebook.com/rodgersmystery).

Enjoy the challenge of following the clues, identifying the red herrings, and trying to figure out the real person behind the terrifying “Joan” avatar. As an anonymous reviewer posted on Amazon, “Who is the Femme Fatale Online? Read the book to find out. You may never use the internet again!” Have fun reading a story that’s part thriller and a subplot that has elements of romances, where a suspect tries to seduce the hero. Anyone who has ever wondered about the real person behind an SL friend, or suspected they weren’t who they pretended to be, will find the novel particularly engaging.
“Femme Fatale Online” was featured on the cable TV program, “America Trends.” Eugene Rodgers was named Virginia Author of the Year for an earlier book. He researched the background for the novel in SL, where his avatar is “Adolphe Menjou.”

Get your free copy if you appreciate mysteries and don’t object to some racy parts and raw language. And please post a review—even a one-sentence review—on Amazon.

There's a new but promising club in the southeast corner of the Instruments sim: The CrystalRose Lounge. I had a few words with one of it's staff, CatNinja (Little Lockjaw), "I'm co-owner, also general manager."

Inviting me over, there was music being played by DJ Aria, from pop music from Disney. CatNinja would tell me there were two other DJs, DJ Lemonhead and DJ Turdpile, "'Turdpile' is more a throw to a friend at BlackMediaGames." The three DJs play most any kind of music except for rap. lakeishaFayrre Resident is the founder and owner of CrystalRose Lounge.

The Lounge itself is a two story building. The outside has the club logo on a sign curved inward. On the inside, the first floor has the dance floor and DJ stage. CatNinja told me they're in the process of making the ground floor look like an underwater area, "Down here, the floor represents a kelp forest." They still need to get items to make the undersea look more convincing, "I'm still looking for coral and kelp plants." The middle of the ceiling of the first floor had a rippling look, that was slightly red, "The underside of the water represents blood from a shark." "Fish blood of course," commented Angel Lefavre (Ltmeirna Resident).

There's not much on the upper story at the moment. For now, there are just a few games for people to play between events. But this will change. CatNinja says they plan to put a few more games there, "and we are accepting donations/tips & suggestions for new ones." People can already play the 7Seas fishing game there. At least one player of Tiny Empires was also around. Of the club's dress code, there really isn't much of one. All types of avatars are permitted in the club. The only really hard rule is, "No male bits. Furs may be naked (otherwise)."

CatNinja told me they plan to offer other parts of the sim up for rent to other residents. Despite the sims adult rating, she says they want to keep things "family oriented" for now, at least outside peoples homes. There are also three shops set up, with two rented, with plans for a mini-mall.

The CrystalRose Lounge is also hiring, wanting to have more DJs, hosts and hostesses, security, and dancers (not away-from-keyboard ones, but those who will respond to people, especially tippers). CatNinja says they're cooperating with the Drunken Parrot Tavern in the Sunweaver area on this, with a joint job application form (click here to read and fill out the form).

SL-based Mystery Novel Offered Free to SLers

A Kindle mystery novel whose unknown villain appears only as a sexy avatar is being offered free to SL participants through Sunday, September 2. To get your complimentary enovel, “Femme Fatale Online” by Eugene Rodgers, email a request to rodgersmystery@gmail.com (your SL anonymity is safe since you don’t have to disclose your avatar or RL names).

Press Release: No Cottage Bizar

Another magnificent new build of M and M Creations. The story behind this one is very special.

During summer of 2017 the fundamentals of my life were destroyed by a devastating event and nothing but ruin was left over. Instead of mourning, grieving and falling into depression which often is very tempting when you encounter a loveshock, I inspired myself to build again on the old ruins. To build up with new materials and vision and make a balanced connection between what was and what can be. Seven months later, my soulmate is still gone but still deeply connected. But I am proud to show you what can be done if you keep on looking on the bright side. This new building, which isn't a cottage this time, is a symbol of letting old patterns go and to have faith that new ones will arrive.

In my imagination the old parts of the building are the solid base upon which can be constructed anything. The big massive stones will support anything beyond imagination, but will also force you not to move them around to much. Thick walls and tunneled stairs, massive windows and impressive doors radiate the force of eternity. A solid home to live, love and feed the spirit of life, forever it seems. Unfortunately time does not support static events and will always manage to crumble down what once was thought to be there forever.

The soul stays in the stones and new times bring new ideas and new materials. The old parts are reconnected again with modern bricks, the massive windows are replaced with steel frames and all the old rotten wood is removed to make place for concrete beams and supports.

Everything connected again makes a new place to live, love and let the wheel of time rotate again.

Old and new in balance with the present. Bizar isn´t it..................

AiR Club and Resort

I was recently at an island getaway vacation spot in Second Life, the AiR Club and Resort. Created and owned by Roxanne (Hiddeyn Resident), she invited me over to have a look. Dropping over, the place's default time had been set to dawn, resulting in a picturesque sunrise to the east. "I honestly wanted to create somewhere really peaceful that felt like a vacation," Roxanne told me, " I really wanted to create a place similar to my real-life vacations." She told me the location of the real-life location the sim was based on was in the Seychelles Islands hundreds of miles off the eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. "And (I) was sick of skybox clubs," she added, "not enough places with fresh pixel 'AiR,'" hence the sim's name. At the entry location, I noticed meteors streaking across the still dark sky. "They were here from Christmas," Roxanne told me with a smile, " and I decided to keep them. And also the twinkly lights. I'm a big fan of twinkly lights."

The place was fairly quiet at the time, "You've caught us on a Saturday where we don't have an event. Not usual, but we had so many people off sick and on vacation, we decided to have a quiet Saturday." She offered to show me around.

We first went to an open-air club. "This is the AiR Chill lounge ," Roxanne told me, "It's parcelled off from the main club - we have small accoustic sets and poetry readings here. Also people chill by the pool and play greedy, sometimes Dj's will do ad hoc sets, etc. We have various areas around the sim for people to hang out - I really want to encourage people to think of it as their second home, or at least their Second Life vacation home. Im certainly not in this for the money (laughter). ... That part is slower than I would like. I have spent the last few months getting the live music side running and its very successful. We had 92 here here the other night. ... most of the artists and DJ's love the open aspect."

It was about then that AiR's co-owner Spence Corwin appeared. Roxanne told me, "Spence has joined me at AiR recently - hes very experienced and has brought a great energy." When I asked how long AiR had been running, Roxanne told me, "We celebrate our six month  'anniversary' on 29th January.  That's a lifetime in SL for venues, well feels like it (smile). ... It took a while, and on my old avatar I had some experience - slow and steady wins the race."

We began walking around further, Roxanne fast on her feet ahead of me and Spence, "Sorry ... I need to find a slower AO." We soon approached a small harbor with a large yacht, which she quickly put away, "Sorry. just realized I had left a big boat. We have a marina for guests to party on the boats - the water isn't sailable (smile). We are going to have our sixth month party on the yacht - I just need to place it better (smile)." Before long, the man would have to log off. "Spence is also unwell," Roxanne told me, "he came online to say hi."

We walked around down a path in the rain forest, "The place has lots of little vistas and hang out areas. The club is a small part." We soon came across a bridge over a stream, which was hanging so low, the middle part went under the surface of the water. "That water is splashable," Roxanne told me, and walked across it herself to demonstrate, "It's embarrassing how much time I walk over that bridge (smile). Easily amused I am."

One of the more memorable events in the island's history took place in late October, "At Halloween we were visited by ten pirate ships. All ghostly of course. Well, they took a few souls, but it didn't hurt traffic too much (grins)." When I asked if the place had a shoe shop or fish market for the occasion, she giggled in response. She would later say in December, "At Christmas we had sandmen, instead of snowmen, who gave out random gifts." There was also an elven-themed wedding here.

We continued on. Roxanne told me of the island, "it's been designed in that hopefully you will find a new place each time you visit." Eventually, the path took us to a large pond with some sandy shore and rocky cliff and jungle around it. There were stepping stones allowing people to walk across it, and a waterfall going down one cliff. "This is one of my favorite parts of the island," Roxanne told me, "with the exception of the sunsets." She told me she planned to add to the underwater, "this area will eventually have mermaid/man items underwater, a few bits under the water here and also in the marina area. For now - we have to stick to the stones." She headed to the waterfall, going inside, and following her there was a hidden cavern inside, "Another cuddle area and I just love this cave (smile)."

Besides the cuddle spots, couples could also enjoy the rental cottages, "We have four vacation rentals here, designed for only one to two nights, max seven. (They've) been really popular for those getting married in SL or proposals." She showed me one after turning off it's security system, which was to help ensure the privacy of any renters, "We have four, all slightly different. ...  I think more people in SL should take vacations (smile)." She did say there were gift certificates for rentals to give out as presents for friends.

We ended the tour at a pier area, in the southeast corner of the island, "this is where you'll usually find me at sunset, and where a lot of people come to chill out. (There is a) few more games and cuddle places down the way as well. ... I missed out the forest and some bits that also have cuddle areas, but thought I'd not bombard you with places." She had made sure there was plenty of places to see on the sim, "It's just one island but I've not tired of it yet."

Roxanne went onto say that the place had a policy of welcoming all types of avatars, saying one of the regulars was a full-sized dragon avatar, and she herself has a microfox. For those in the VIP group, "we try and give a different VIP gift every few months." One example of one was a chair made to look like half a boat. She told me there are currently about 350 in the group.

JFC Bike Store

Introduction

JFC Bike store was founded in 2008 by Jayra Magic. She was tired of bikes that ride and steer the same way. So, she decided to make her own bikes in Second Life. She wanted to create a bike with their own character and spirit. She spend many nights with “Mr. Try” and “Dr. Error” to fine tune the good old HQ 1.0 script. Before Jayra Magic made bikes in Second Life, she was pole-dancing at a club called “Killing Floor” to make some money for her first bike-parts. The challenge was to seek a balance between the different vehicle parameters, because when you change one it affects the others. Lexei Glas (LG Bikes) taught her the basics of bike creation and also shared scripts. That’s when the JFC bike script was born.

JFC Bike store

The first “official” JFC Bike store was on Biker World. There she met up with Moppi Riddler , who asked her if she could do some creative stuff in Second Life too. She agreed and Moppi Riddler agreed to make some biker outfits to fit with the bikes Today Moppi Riddler is the proud owner of MRSTYLE bike outfit store, which is located next to JFC Bike Store.

Dixie Jefferson completed their team she helped out with scripts, building, sculpts and mesh to create the awesome roads that surround the sim. There are so many people that Jayra Magic would like to thank.

After the store moved to different other locations, the store finally stranded on the “CALI to NYC’ sim, and that’s where the store is still located.

The JFC Bike store building is a modern building with rez pads for every single bike. So, when you want to try out a bike, just click on the rez pad and it will rez a demo bike for you. Then you can ride the bike to see if it fits you. You can ride around the roads surrounding the store to find out if the bike rides like you want it to. When it does, you can buy the bike at the store.

Everyone is welcome to hang out at the store and enjoy riding the bikes.

At the JFC Bike store you can find bikes, motorcycles, choppers. They are all made in high quality bike-parts and they are all scripted with the unique feature-rich and low lag scripts of JFC bikes.
Jayra Magic says “"Let me create to enjoy and share the fun and feeling."
Her bikes are the best bikes in Second Life.

So, come and find your new bike at JFC bike store at :

Jayra Magic and JFC Bikes

By Wesley Regenbogen

About Jayra Magic

Jayra Magic is the owner and creator of the JFC Bikes and the store. She’s a bike builder and has a bike store. Making bikes in Second Life is her passion and she’s good at her job. Her bikes are awesome bikes, because she puts her passion into making them.

I met Jayra Magic at the place where she makes her bikes, after she teleported me over.

I first asked how she was doing and she told me “I’m doing fine” and she asked how I was doing and I told her I was doing very well.

I asked how she got started in Second Life and how she got started as a bike creator. She told me that a friend of her told her about Second Life and that it didn’t take too long before she met people that liked bikes as she did.

Next, I asked her how bikes are made and what processes that it goes through to get into the final product and ready to be sold. She told me that there are multiple ways to get a bike made : she buys bike parts and puts them together until it looks like a bike, or she buys bike-kits and puts her own scripts into it and also adds her own textures.

Creating a bike can take weeks, she also told me. So, making bikes is time consuming. It takes so long because she has her own vision on how it needs to look and sometimes she can't find the right bike parts. So, that's why she makes her own bike parts too. She wants every bike to have their own character and not only a look. So fine tuning it can also take a few days work.

Then I asked her if she has a collaboration with other bike creators or she only works solo. She told me that she always likes to learn from other bike creators and that Lexei Glas (LG Bikes) teached her the important things about Second Life bikes. She has a special collaboration with Moppi Riddler, the bike outfit creator called MRSTYLE, they have been friends for over 9 years. Her shop is located next to the JFC bike store.

When I asked her where she gets the inspiration for creating bikes in Second Life, she told me that gets many ideas from customers and also from real life role models and also her own fantasies and ideas that she has.

Then I asked her if she has lots of customers from MCs, or motorcycle clubs, around Second Life. She told me that she has many people from MC’s in Second Life, but also non MC related people that want to buy a bike. There are many people that are in a MC in Second Life that ride bikes from JFC. She is proud that people ride her bikes in Second Life.

I asked her what if a customer wants a custom made bike. She told me that if it doesn’t cost her more to make it, she sells it at the regular price, but she currently is unable to make custom bikes. She doesn’t make bikes for 1 person, but she wants to make bikes for everybody out there. She wants to share her creations ( the bikes ) with everyone.

The last question I asked was what plans that she has for the future. She told me that she hopes to keep on selling bikes and that her shops continues to grow and that her store runs for a couple of years at least. And she hopes that she never runs out of ideas to make bikes. She also hopes that she can spend more time exploring biker sims and also join in on parties/concerts and also doing some sailing in Second Life.

I thanked her for taking the time for doing the interview and wished her luck in the future.
