Interview with Goddess (ShandyLand Resident)
Thursday, December 2, 2021
Alleara Snoodle Is Gone
It has been confirned by a reliable source that Alleara Snoodle has passed on. To those not familiar with her, she was a highly skilled builder and scriptor whom was with the Sunweaver and Chilbo communities. She was also part of the Relay for Life in Second Life.
Besides her skills as a builder, Alleara was also an artist. The picture of the editor at the Newser office was done by her. She is known to have done some singing. She's also taken part in a number of Nydia Tungsten's music videos.
Sadly, Alleara was physically disabled, having suffered injuries from a fall some years before coming to Second Life. She would also end up in an automobile accident in later 2010. She would have to stop singing and drawing, and stepped down from her position in Chilbo though continued to keep in touch with the artistic community. Down but not out, she eventually went back to scripting and building in Second Life, though usually behind the scenes on the projects of others. She would find some work as a consultant to a major real-life business a few years ago. While she spent less time online, she never did stop coming to Second Life.
It should be noted Alleara and I were friends, having met around 2009, and meeting up regularly for a time. I found her to be brilliantly smart, but she also very compassionate. She had a way of sensing something was wrong with a friend, and would listen for a while as to what the problem was. She had many friends and admirers. She had several avatars, but was best known as a winged white vixen with red hair.
When we last met inworld in early June 2021, she was thinking of a couple things. Long knowing I was writing a sci-fi tale, she told me of an interesting story written by another beginning writer. She also wanted to show me the grounds of the Chilbo community, which after so many years had less territory but was still active.
A friend of Alleara's would say in her final days, she was increasingly ill. She was showing signs of Coronavirus, and planned to have herself checked at a clinic. But would pass away the night before a friend was to take her there.
Not just the Sunweavers and Chilbo, but Second Life has lost a great woman, with both brains and a good heart.

Ivory Tower Poetry
Don't know much about aligning prims
Don't know much about path cut trims
Don't know much about blender stuff,
Don't know much about terrain rough
But I do know that Pi is 3.2,
And I know that if you're building, too,
What a wonderful world this would be.

Remembering Tai'lahr Winnikow
Some residents are well-known for their accomplishments. Others, little word gets out about what they do. A few days ago. the passing of Miss Tai', or Tai'lahr Winnikow. As it turns out, she was a builder who worked behind the scenes in events such as the Fantasy Faire and Fallen Gods. But she was a private person who shied away from attention and preferred anonymity. But with her passing, people whom were once quiet began openly talking. So who was Miss Tai'? I would hear what she did from a few people, most notably from her close friend Kerryth Tarantal.

A Few Words From Junkyard Owner YadNi Monde
Most Longtime residents are familiar with YadNi Monde. For eleven of Second Life's first twelve years, he ran "YadNi's Junkyard," the best known freebie place back then. But in June 2015, he had to close it down. The place is still fondly remembered, and some of the items can still be found today. YadNi himself went into a "3D personal enterprise" and then drawing, not going back into Second Life much.
I recently came across YadNi in Second Life, and we had a few words. He had put his artwork on hold for a few months. Hewas focusing more on virtual worlds, but it wasn't Second Life that was his main focus. "I am setting my foot on another grid, coming here to grab my stuff," he told me with a smile, "I'm going to TAG with all my old stuff." I asked if he meant The Adult Grid. He laughed, "Hahah! Well, there's nothing offensive on that grid (smile). It's only a name. It changed owners years ago. So, I dunno what it was before. But now, I could take my kids there if I had any."I asked YadNi what he found so far in TAG. He called it a "cool place, a warm welcome. And I do know Constanza Amsterdam since quite a long time too. She is the owner, with her husband. ... I have an infinite number of prims ahead of me," he smiled, "One single sim can go up to 50 000 prims, and (I) have my OAR s from InWorldz." After I brought up that his Junkyard is still well remembered in Second Life, he told me, "my plan is to revive my junkyard there. It won't have all the freebies and all, but it will be the place." He did say the TAG grid did have it's own freebie sim, "with awesome quality. And some nice sims to visit too with little details everywhere, hidden places, easter eggs."
Other plans of his included building Mont Saint Michel, "we're going to revive my most beautiful child, as well as InWorld's Jackson Square that used to be IDI. I'm also building the whole timeline of all the sims I ever built on all grids. I'm reaching year five and it's already a quarter sim long. ... Wait 'til I reach my actual 15th year."So a few years later, YadNi is keeping himself busy.

Jayra Magic and JFC Bikes
Creating a bike can take weeks, she also told me. So,
making bikes is time consuming. It takes so long because she has her own vision on how
it needs to look and sometimes she can't find the right bike parts.
So, that's why she makes her own bike parts too. She wants every bike to have their own character and not
only a look. So fine tuning it can also take a few days work.
