Rita Mariner Back Online

 

For about three weeks, the Sunweaver community has had it's leader, Rita Mariner, in the hospital. Finally yesterday, Wednesday April 20, she came back online. At Club Cutlass that night, there was a banner welcoming her return.

As luck would have it, Rita would have to leave toe party a bit early, so I wasn't able to take a picture of her as a "roller derby rabbit." She still has some healing to do. But in the meantime the party, "Best in Q and R," went on, a little happier now that the bunny chieftess was back.

Sunweaver Chief Rita Mariner in Hospital

 

Over the weekend, troubled news came to the Sunweaver community (and Sunbeamer Relay team). Their leader was taken to the hospital. 

Nothing had been heard from Rita for a couple days. Then on Friday, the first news came.

Thanks to Shocky we have been able to hunt down the whereabouts of our much loved Chief and learned she is in a hospital. All the details we have at this time. Will fill all of you in when we get more.

Not everyone got the news at first, possibly because Friday was April 1. But word gradually spread and more details came. 

Rita update.  Rita is going to be in the hospital for foreseeable future.  And her phone is broken somehow, great timing.  Shes out of danger but wont be inworld for awhile.

Shockwave would explain that the sims are on autopay, so the sims are fine. As for the Sunbeamers Relay team, plans for some events such as the air show have already been set in motion, so the team will continue to take part in fundraising.

The Newser's main office building is located in the Sunweaver Estates.

Ranchan Weidman Hospitalized, Tested Positive For Coronavirus

 

Some bad news came to the Sunweaver community last night. Ranchan Weidman, the lady who runs the HV Community sim, has tested positive for Coronavirus after being admitted to the hospital for an unrelated ailment.

Ranchan Weidman is in the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 and is undergoing treatment. Please send her all your prayers, well wishes, positive vibes, and whatever support you can give.

Ranchan is known for running a Robotech RP and helps run Club Zero Gravity. She is a supporter of the SL Newser, having built it's first office and one of it's SL Birthday exhibits.

Brandi Streusel Back Online, "Two Vixens And A Wolf" At Cutlass, Other Sunweaver News

Early this month, it was announced that Brandi Streusel had taken an indefinite break from Second Life. The Newser is happy to report that the little mousegirl of the Sunweaver/Angel community is back, and doing some music DJing, " I've missed both so much." She is currently playing at Python's Dance Club on Wednesdays.

Also, the "Two Vixens and a Wolf" radio show, which the Newser reported on recently, is getting a new location to listen in from inworld besides their studio in Rabbit Valley: the Sunweaver's main club and hangout of Club Cutlass. Svetlana Snowpaw (Sarah Golem) made the following announcement on Tuesday July 17.

Unfortunately, not all the news from the Sunweaver community has been good. On Monday or Tuesday this week, community leader Rita Mariner was taken to the hospital due to an infection. She was released Wednesday. Also Dusk Griswold's real-life spouse has been in the hospital for several days. Her condition was initially serious, but she has been recovering and will hopefully be home again soon.

Resceduled: Songbird At Grendle's Today, "Bid Me" Events For Sunbeamers Extended

Due to unforeseen events, two events in Second Life will be happening at different times than originally scheduled.

On Saturday April 8, Songbird (Songbird1028 Sorbet) was scheduled to give a live music performance at Castel Bufo (AKA the "Fool's Castle") over Grendel's Children in the Avaria Tor sim. Unfortunately, the event was postponed due to technical difficulties. It has been rescheduled to today, April 20, at 12Noon SL time, "One last chance to break the dinosaurs while listening to the Amazing Songbird!!"

To get there, get to the Grendel's telehub, then sit on the nearby rocket for a quick ride to the castle.

The "Bid Me" events being held by the Relay for Life's Team Sunbeamers were originally scheduled to end last night at 8PM following the conclusion of the party at Club Cutlass, where the kiosks for the event are located. But team Captain Rita Mariner is in the hospital for kidney stones, possibly for a few days. So the conclusion of the "Bid Me" events has been postponed until her return, possibly at 8PM Friday April 21, or Saturday April 22.

The Newser wishes Rita Mariner a quick and reasonably painless recovery (at least as painless a recovery one can expect from kidney stones). In the meantime, people are encouraged to make further donations for the Relay for Life at Club Cutlass's "Bid Me" events.

Cerridwen's Cauldron: Preview

The Second Life Newser recently heard about a place called "Cerridwen's Cauldron." Owned by Elicio Ember, the man is a first class designer, and has put up most of what he's made up for sale. Recent events, however, have given Elico a sense of urgency as his father has suffered a stroke, and he needs money to make sure he gets better.

One of the Newser reporters is currently writing a review about the sim. In the mean time, one can head there and buy something to support its owner.
