Cartoon of The Day: Food on Their Mind

Taken at Montecito Bay. Gnoll Wife had her DJing debute, and at one point people started putting on these tall hamburger hats. How it started, I don't know. But I had an idea what it could lead to.

Thanksgiving at Antiquity

Some places on Thanksgiving weekend were less active. Not so the Antiquity community of which Prince Jacon and Duke Levi invited everyone to drop over his palace for thanksgiving, both locals and friends of the community. It took place on Saturday November 29 at Noon SL time.

Crown Prince Jacon and Grand Duke Levi  are pleased to invite you to join them a for Thanksgiving dinner. This gathering is a time to share gratitude, enjoy a festive meal, and celebrate the bonds of community. Your presence will make the occasion all the more meaningful as we come together in fellowship and tradition.

The event was well attended, and while the community standard was 19th century fashion, other outfits were acceptable. Besides the humans and a furry or two, there were a number of tinies and a taur.

There was much chatter about goings on, how various people were doing, real-life dinners, a few comments about tiny and human-sized foxes by the tinies, and other things.

And everybody kept their hands off the cake until later into the dinner.

Cartoon of the Day

Taken at Burning Man Deep Hole. Actually, this really was from the Burning Man festival. But with "The Man" made with pieces of bacon, it didn't take much to think about what could very well be in places like Raglan Shire.

Cartoon of the Day: Having WHAT For Lunch?

Although considered food in some countries, the idea of having octopus for a meal is enough to turn the stomachs of most in North America. While this "ewwww" has probably been around for a while, the sight of unlucky humans having tentacles burst from their bodies after infection from alien creatures in certain movies over the years probably hasn't helped.

Happy Thanksgiving From Second Life Newser

Thanksgiving may be a holiday in which many of us are busy in the kitchen (or watching football), but some took a little time to drop by Second Life to be with friends and neighbors. Gemma took this picture at her home area in Thorstar, "Thanksgiving at the fishing contest."

Ancient Rome was a bit before Thanksgiving. Still, they bent the rules a little for the sake of people having fun and socializing.

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. ROMA SPQR  celebrates it today at 1 PM in the mansio in Subura. Come as you are and party!

And yours truly dropped by for quite a feast, at least for the eyes.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone from Second Life Newser.
