Cartoon of The Day: Why The Blocks

Taken at the Winter Burn. Of this couple dancing, the girl was much shorter than the guy, and was wearing wooden blocks under her shoes.

Hopefully it helps with conversations in which they're trying to see each other's viewpoints.

Cartoon of The Day: Food on Their Mind

Taken at Montecito Bay. Gnoll Wife had her DJing debute, and at one point people started putting on these tall hamburger hats. How it started, I don't know. But I had an idea what it could lead to.

Fifty Foot Vixen At The Newser Office

It's not often I see huge avatars other than dragons, also known as macros, going around, especially outside the Fantasy Faire. But after a conversation with Kalista Phoenix on Discord, we met up at the Newser office. Her height was, impressive, close to fifty feet tall.

We may meet again at the Fantasy Faire, or perhaps sooner.

And no, she's not interested in attacking, unlike a certain other fifty foot lady (song).

Cartoon Of The Day: Standing Tall

There's a stereotype about the average SL resident being a seven foot blonde. While not everyone is such, there can be some big height differences between avatars sometimes. But with this lady, maybe there's something under her dress giving her a boost.

Cartoon of The Day: Tall Hat

Taken at Furzona. I've seen some tall hats, but this one was taller than the sim was wide. While I suppose such a hat could be worn if full of helium, it might became a small plane hazard.

Interview with Fop (KingForri), Giant of Natoma

So how tall was the tallest avatar you've seen in Second Life? For some residents who haven't been around much, they may not have seen avatars much taller than they. For those who have explored some and been to some notable events, they may have seen an occasional macro that can get to be around fifty feet tall. And then there's the avatar of Fop (KingForri). Encountered at the Natoma sim, he easily stood over the Ivory Tower. Yours truly got in contact, and he had a few things to say.

Standing Tall At "Conception"

Taken at Burn2 Conception. This particular Burn2 spinoff event was noted for "The Man" built as a female shape. But it wasn't the only lady standing tall. Builder Andrea Jones appeared in a Colussus avatar, towering over everyone else at the art and music festival.

And no, the DJ didn't play "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman."

Scenes From Second Life: The Jolly Blue Giantess

With Lomgren Smalls as a neighbor, small avatars are not exactly a shocking sight. Giant avatars, however, are a different story.

At Furry Fashion last weekend, yours truly dropped by a "Best in Blue" event. And quite a number in theme showed up. In the words of one, "It's like Avatar (the movie) in here." Then someone named Arisu Starfall showed up. While also in a blue avatar, it was unlike the others due to her huge height, standing close to forty feet high. The sight of her drew cries along the lines of "Don't step on me!" Arisu didn't step on anyone, but tiptoed to the side and made some adjustments in her outfit. "Why so tall?" someone asked. The giantess promptly answered, "Why so short?"

Arisu would later share in the contest prize that night, proving "Size does matter."

Cartoon of the Day

At the Cake Stage at the SLB, DrFran Babcock's avatar gets a slight glitch that makes her "above it all" so to speak.

Dragon Sighting at Club Zero Gravity

"That's one biiiiiiiiiiigg dragon!" That was the reaction on Tuesday Night August 5 at Club Zero Gravity's "Best in Wings" event when Skylark Lefavre showed up in a huge blue dragon avatar. On it's hind legs, it must have been fifty feet tall. Compare it to the regular-sized avatar next to it's ankle. Had it been much taller, her head would have gone past the ceiling.

Club Zero Gravity has events twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 6PM SL time. Purrfection Estates (232/35/3340)

Meanwhile, Back in Rust

The fun, and occasional frustration, continues for the Angels/Sunweavers going about in the Rust MMO while it's still in open alpha development. Exploring around when the "Lost Island" server was down, we explored a few others. One had some unusual builds on it the likes of which we hadn't encountered yet.
