A Very Unexpected Thanksgiving Dinner (2016)

As we get ready to sit down for Thanksgiving dinner, or perhaps lie down after chowing down, we reflect on the fun times, and perhaps the jokes about anything Thanksgiving. In 2016, Mylie Foxclaw did an amusing little tale about a Thanksgiving dinner gone wrong, one with a happy ending.

Cartoon of the Day:

Taken at the Happy Vixen. I could have called it "discount hot tub," though some of my online friends have been passing around some "redneck" jokes lately. But in this case to "redneck" something is to repair something or improvise on what you need, and you don't particularly care what it looks like.

Cartoon of the Day: High on the Hog

Taken at the Oahu sim. Real foxes are by their nature strict carnivores, and it's difficult to imagine one gene-engineered to be humanlike down to the capacity for an omnivorous diet to give up their taste for meat (though in some stories such as "Zootopia" they're limited to meat substitutes). Still, it's obvious this anthro fox wasn't brought up in a society that banned pork.

A Very Unexpected Thanksgiving Dinner

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the United States, or "Turkey Day" as some amusingly call it. The holiday means different things to different people, but everyone associates the day with a big Thanksgiving dinner, with the main course being a plump cooked turkey. Mylie Foxclaw has an amusing little story, in which she describes getting set to cook the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, and nothing seems to go right.

Read Mylie's story in Extra.

Cartoon of the Day

Taken at Purrfection Beach. Guess that's one way to heat up hot water if one can't get a job that can pay for a jacuzzi, although it does look uncomfortably close to a cooking pot.

Cartoon of the Day

Going through Areo Pines on Easter Weekend, I came across this grill. Burgers smell great, though too much beef might mean bellyaches for a bunny.

"What's Cookin'?" at Netera's Coffee Lounge

On Saturday January 21st, Netera Landar held a cooking show at her coffee lounge, "What's Cookin?" Chef Jorden Andrew used the Grid and virtual ingredients to show the audience how to cook up a great dish.

Jorden had gotten her start with Second Life cooking a few months before at KK Food & Pastries, " I always wanted t odo something like this," and when she saw the announcement, she auditioned. As it turns out, she used to cook at a San Francisco restaurant. But she doesn't cook so much in real life at the present time. Nor does she grow ingredients, "I don't have a green thumb."

Jorden cooked for a while, both meals and desserts for a diverse audience. "What's Cookin" plans to be a frequent feature, but may not be on every week. Some events will also have different chefs.

Check the schedule at Netera's Coffee Lounge for event times at Terric (43, 137, 28).
