New Bellisseria Citizens Group HQ Location

The Bellisseria Citizens Group has a new headquarters. At Fiddlehead Marsh, one of the Linden homes was converted by Teresa Firelight and Dreamer Pixelmaid into a headquarters for the group. The majority of the decorating seems to have been done by Teresa.

The HQ was actually opened on Monday July 20. When announced in the group a few people headed over to take a look. A few weeks later, one can still go there to relax, maybe nibble on some of the snacks placed at the back porch, or have a cup of coffee inside. The most recent addition, one added by Dreamer, was two "therapy cats," two Kittycats that were on the second floor for anyone to pet.

Teresa would say, "Dreamer and I are very excited about our new HQ location. We got extremely lucky and landed a very beautiful spot for all of us to enjoy. And Bellisseria Citizens, we want you to know... this HQ is your space!! It belongs to all of us, and you should always feel welcome to come here and enjoy it."

As a reminder, the Bellisseria Cituzens Group is a separate group from the BBB, the Bellisseria Bureau of Bureaucracy, and neither is affiliated with Linden Lab and the LDPW, though you will see an occasional Linden or Mole speak out in Citizens group chat.

Fantasy Subcontinent Off Bellisseria Open, Fairgrounds Water Park Closes

Near the beginning of the month, the subcontinent for the new Fantasy-themed Linden Homes had appeared off Bellisseria. Recently, the land was open to all, and the houses were available for those with Premium accounts to claim.

Dropping by, the place looked much like the display area showing the houses at the Second Life Birthday. the four types of houses were there. So were the trees, crystals, mushrooms, and other decorations, as were the bridges over the water. There was one notable difference. As the houses were now being claimed, some were being decorated for individual tastes with pets, statues, more lights, and other items. I had yet to hear about a community center of some kind. But this may change in the future.

On another note about news from the Linden Home continent, There's been a water park in the Bellisseria Fairgrounds, with pools, lounge chairs to enjoy the sun, and four tall slides that took close to a minute to go down into the water. Some wag also put a Bellisserian Slenderman doll in the water as a joke. But the fun didn't last forever, and last week it's closing was announced.

This week will be the final farewell to the water park. It's been an amazing summer and Vari and I would like to sincerely thank you all for your continued support of the Belli Animal Sanctuary and the Bellisseria Fairgrounds!

There were a few farewell events. But people continued to drop by afterwards to slide, or just to relax. But this isn't necessarily a permanent end. The water park may be back sometime in the future.

Fantasy Faire Opens

And it's begun. The twenty-one sims of the Fantasy Faire are now open to the general public. Already some of the sims, such as Fairelands Junction where the main entrance is at (61/101/34), are a bit crowded. So expect some lag. You can find the SURLs to the other sims here (link).

Of the Fairelands Quest, the first part should be available in a few days, "Part 1 of the Quest opens Monday, 26 April and Part 2 starts Thursday, 29 April."

For more information, check out the Fantasy Faire blog: https://fantasyfairesl.wordpress.com/

Sansar: First Impressions

Yesterday July 31 was when Linden Lab finally opened Sansar to the general public. So yours truly signed up for an account and got in. So what's my initial impression? To sum it up in one sentence, "It's a start."

You have only a limited choice of avatars to choose from, but you can customize them some.

Sansat differs from Second Life as there are no contiguous sims. but each area is separate from everywhere else. The Sansar Atlas provides a list of them. A few we have seen in Linden Lab's previews. I noticed there was one called "Luskwood" by Tengu Yamabushi, and decided to check it out.

There was no "Big Tree" it turned out, but a dry and hilly savanna area. I didn't notice any lag, but getting about, there was no option to run. And you couldn't interact with anything. I didn't see any names on the other avatars, but I did notice someone was wearing a spacesuit. That was an item one could buy in the Sansar store.

Bryn Oh had an area, one that had a few lit-up decorated scenes. After this it was time to head back.

Right now, Sansar looks good, and I didn't see much of any lag. But all one can do is explore around. There is no object interaction. Even when Second Life first came out, you were able to run. But Sanasat is still in an "open beta" state. No doubt there will be improvements as time goes on. But for now, as has been written earlier, while an interesting place to visit, you can't really "live" there like Second Life. Further improvements are necessary.

I'll explore a little more in the next few days to show what more it has.
