Commentary: The Pygmalion In Us
Some residents make few changes to the look they first came into Second Life with, if they make few changes at all. More often, residents make some effort to change their appearances, some spending many hours on their avatars. Mylie Foxclaw examines this, comparing our efforts to shape our avatars to the ancient Greek tale of a sculptor out to create an image of his idea of the perfect woman. In a sense, are we also trying to create our image of the ideal?
