On Sunday April 30, Veterans Isle hosted a benefit for the Homes For Our Troops Charity. Frets Nirvana organized the event, which ran from 11AM to 4PM SL time. Scheduled to perform was one DJ, Waya Snowpaw, and four live performers. The first three in the schedule were Dimivann Ludwig, Ian Harrod, and Lark Bowen. The fourth was unable to attend, so guitarist NeoMaximus Brandenburg took his place.
The crowd and performers alike donated money to two house-shaped kiosks on either side of the stage. Near the end, NeoMaximus promised that if the 80,000 Linden mark was met, he would donate 5K of his own money. Near the end of his hour, the total amount of cashed raised passed that, and so the performer tossed in his money.
Veterans Isle hosts fundraisers like these every month, usually taking place on the last Sunday.
