RFL Announcement: SL Living Expo Welcomes SL Fandom Con and SL Renaissance Festival into Expanded 2026 Event

The SL Living Expo, one of Second Life’s mega-events supporting Relay For Life of Second Life and the American Cancer Society, is thrilled to announce an exciting expansion for its 2026 edition. Two beloved community events, SL Fandom Con and the SL Renaissance Festival, will be merging into the SL Living Expo, creating a vibrant, unified celebration of creativity, community, and hope.

“Second Life is a place where people bring their passions to life — and that’s exactly what this expanded event is all about,” said Stingray Raymaker, Director of the American Cancer Society in Second Life. “By uniting the creativity of SL Fandom Con and SL Renaissance Festival with the mission of Relay For Life of Second Life, we’re not only building a bigger event — we’re building a stronger community, one that fights cancer together.”

This bold new direction will allow SL Living Expo to offer an even more immersive and diverse experience — welcoming fans of sci-fi, cosplay, medieval history, pop culture, and everything in between. From dragons to droids, knights to superheroes, attendees will find themed regions designed to honor the unique spirit of both Fandom Con and the Renaissance Festival — seamlessly blended into the overall mission of supporting cancer research and survivor support.

“By bringing these incredible events together under one banner, we’re celebrating what makes Second Life so magical — the power of imagination, the strength of community, and the passion to make a difference,” said Cody and Roxy Chronotis, Leads for the SL Living Expo.

Expect returning favorites from each event, along with brand-new themed regions like magical forests, star-ports, royal courts, multiverse markets, and more — all curated to welcome a broader range of vendors, performers, creators, and roleplay communities.

The expanded SL Living Expo will take place in January 2026, with applications for designers, entertainers, and volunteers opening soon. Stay tuned for announcements on how you can get involved in this mega-event that promises to be our most magical yet — where hope takes center stage.

SL Renaissance Festival Concludes, I Pink I Can Continues

This weekend was the conclusion of the Renaissance Festival in Second Life. Among the events in the sims south of American Cancer Society was at 1PM Saturday when Jaycatt and Frogg performed at the Minstrel Stage. At the event, Jaycatt had a limited edition pet dragon on his shoulder, which people could get for a small donation.

Elsewhere at the Ren Fest, there were tournaments. I would witness a round of jousting. It was close, ending 5 to 4.

And of course there was the shopping, at numerous stores.

While the Ren Fest may be ending, "I Pink I Can" is still going on, in the sims north of American Cancer Society. On Sunday at 1PM was a stage play, "A Child’s Journey Through Cancer: The Musical." It would show "the story of a child’s journey through cancer told in music and dance. It takes us through the fear, joy and hope experienced in a cancer journey." It was done and directed by Patty Flow of "Roos With A Dream," with some of her teammates taking part, as well as other Relayers.

Both the Ren Fest and I Pink I Can raise money for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

More on I Pink I Can later. The event goes on to Sunday October 20.

The Renaissance Festival And I Pink I Can

This weekend, two events for Making Strides against Breast Cancer got started. One is the Renaissance Festival, taking place in a few sims south of American Cancer Society. The main stage is at Ren Fest 2, with live music events taking place.

There's also tournaments, such as archery and swordfighting, and I saw one fighter practicing.

There's also shopping, auctions, and the "Pillory the Lindens" event later this wee, Friday October 4 at 3PM SL time.

North of American Cancer Society in American Cancer Society2 and 3, there's a Halloween-themed event taking place, I Pink I Can. A few days ago we mentioned the shops. But there's also a hunt going on, the Pinkula Hunt (as if vampires weren't scary enough already).

There was also a "Halloween Dance Show" by "Kidz Dance" on Sunday.

Be sure to check out both events. The Renaissance Festival goes on to Sunday October 6, and I Pink I Can goes on to October 20.

Pillory A Linden (Or Mole)

While the purpose for Relay for Life fundraising events is very serious, they are often very fun. And when the Lindens and Moles get involved, there's often more fun to be had. Last Friday was the start of the Second Life Renaissance Festival, held to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. One event that day was "Pillory A Linden (or Mole)." And many residents came by to see some of Linden Lab's finest get locked up and pelted with rotten fruit.

Merryjest At The Renaissance Festival

There's been quite a lot going on at the Second Life Renaissance Festival. Friday had the "Pillory A Linden" event (which I will finish writing about soon). And every day, there are DJs and singers at the "Minstrel's Corner" stage. On Sunday, It was Merryjest Starchild's (formerly Maus Merryjest/Kain Scalia) turn to sing.

From Noon to about 1 PM SL time, he sung various songs to the crowd. This included some lighthearted ones such as "Always Look On The Second Side of Life."

At one point, he was singing while dancing on the ceiling of the stage. And no, it wasn't a Lionel Richie song.

The Festival will go on until Sunday October 1, with more music events every day.

"Joust A Linden" At The Ren Fest

Thursday September 29 was the day of "Joust a Linden or Mole" at the Renaissance Festival. For a 1000 Linden dollar donation, residents could spar with one of the several Lindens and Moles at the event.

Several Lindens and Moles took part in the event. There was Allota and Dreaming Mole, and there was Constantine, Derrick, and Patch Linden. Constantine's mount was an ostrich. Patch's horse had on bright purple colors.

In the matches, the residents did pretty good, such as Nikki Lacrima's victory over Patch Linden. Unfortunately near the end, my viewer crashed, and lost track of who else jousted who.

There would be other events that day. This included an archery tournament in which the top four were
1st: Nephilim Ventris
2nd: Pointy Voxel
3rd: KenshinHimura1997 Resident
4th: Bill9 Blazewood

The Ren-Fest raises money for the American Cancer Society.

The festival goes on to Sunday October 2. For more information check out the blog: https://slrenaissancefestival.com/
