RFL Announcement: Team Harmony For Hope Club Crawl

We are thrilled to announce our 3rd Annual Club Crawl Competition sponsored by Harmony of Hope. We have great clubs involved in this Relay For Life competition.  Clubs will have RFL events at the times listed below.  Events are held Saturday, May 23 12 pm - Sunday, May 24 8 pm. At 8 pm, Sunday, the club with the highest amount of donations to The American Cancer Society in their kiosk will be announced the 2020 Club Crawl Champ.  The winning Club will receive a trophy for display at their club as well as social media announcement.  Please join us and support these clubs as they volunteer their staff and time to support Relay!

Sneak Peek: Harmony For Hope's Relay Track Campsite

Setting Up The Relay Walk Team Camps

With the sims of the track for the Relay for Life Walk now open, the various teams of the Relay for Life which have camps there have been busy setting up their builds. At the Sunbeamer camp in RFL Support. Cynthia Farshore and Shockwave Yarreach, with some assistance from the other three builders, have been busy at work setting things up. While most of the work is done, they have requested that other than sneak pics, pictures showing the camp in detail will wait until at least tomorrow.

Cynthia did explain that many of the builds would help tell a story, a "young farm girl gets skin cancer, and the journey of her treatment. I'm writing the story, which is a twist since normally the wolf here does the writing. (But) I may just get the jest down then hand it over to him."

With Relayers anxiously awaiting the Relay Weekend, the committee went ahead and decided to let team members over early, although limited to their own campsites. This includes out own.

Beamers:  The Campsite is now open to ALL TEAM MEMBERS so if you wish to check it out, be our guest,  It still needs some work, but feel fre to see how far we have come and make any comments and or suggestions to Cynthia or Shocky.

But it's not just the Sunbeamers whom were hard at work, I ran into a few members of Team Harmony of Hope in RFL Health busy with setting up their camp. It was about halfway done at the time. By now it's mostly finished, mostly.

More pictures are to come as the setting up of the Relay camps, and other builds, continues.

Announcement: Harmony of Hope's Egg Decorating Competition!

This competition is to benefit Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.

*Please read these rules carefully. Eggs that do not follow the guidelines below will not be accepted.

The Challenge: To build what you consider the perfectly decorated egg. Real eggs have limits. SL eggs don't. Think out of the box, put your personality on exhibit and let those creative juices flow!

The rules are simple:

There will be 20 platforms. Pay the small kiosk an entry fee of 300 Lindens and that plot will be yours.  The small kiosk will be removed and a popular vote kiosk will be put in its place. It's that simple!

- You are allowed 35 prims to make you Egg unique.
- Use only the egg, your prims, and NEW prims, created by you
- You may use the sculpted egg provided or
   use your own prim egg.
  
- Your egg must be ready to be judged by 10:00 am slt. on 3/20/16

If you need a head start IM TS Darrow for a blank egg.

Their will be 2 winners.  One selected by our judges and one by popular vote. Popular vote consists of friends, family and group members donating to the kiosk next to you build. When voting closes the build with the highest kiosk total wins.

Judges will judge your egg on presentation, creativity and uniqueness.

Winners will be announced by 5pm. Slt.on 3/20.  You do not need to be online to win.

Winners will get: Bragging rights, fame and last but not least a basket of Gift Cards and Prizes!

Relay For Life's Team Harmony For Hope's Season End Blowout

Last weekend, Team Harmony of Hope of the Relay for Life in Second Life held their last event for the season, the "Harmony For Hope Season End Blowout."

Hi everybody!  We are planning one last Relay For Life fund raiser to close out this season.  This event is going to start at 6PM Friday August 7 and go straight through to 9PM Saturday August 8.  That's 27 hours of non-stop music with hopefully lots and lots of lindens raised.

I arrived at a lightly attended hour during the music marathon. I was told at the opening hour, there were over two dozen present. Rajun Caijun (cajuntadpole) sand for a smaller crowd, but it was still lively. One girl commented, "One time I asked where Cloey was, and Rajun said she's taking the night off. I said 'ut ohh what'd you do??' Or wait I said 'was it your fault,' he said yes." Another laughed, "I remember." Cloey Bechir narrated the lyrics of the musician's song.

The event would go on for a few more hours. Rajun would be followed by Bandit Eddingham, and a few more musicians afterwards.

Yep still goin over here we are having a great time here with the second half of our 27 hours of non-stop music from some of SL's best live performers, tribute bands and DJ's starting Friday Aug. 7 6PM SLT straight through to 9PM SLT Saturday Aug 8 all to raise as many lindens as possible for Relay For Life of Second Life.


Team "Harmony for Hope" has raised over three million Lindens, or over $12,000 US dollars, the second highest of the Relay teams in Second Life this year.

Last weekend had a number of Relay events. Saturday had a stand up comedy routine, the "Stand Up Against Cancer," featuring noted comedian Lauren Weyland and others. Sunday had the judging for an egg decorating contest. So who got the laughs and who was the "egg-xact" winner?
