New Bellisseria Town Hall: Chippewa Junction

Bellisseria has a new town hall. This one is different in that it wasn't built in a new area, but an established one, right in the middle of the "boot" of Old Bellissaria. This is the Chippewa Junction Town Hall. Patch Linden would announce it in a blog post about an update to traditional Linden Homes.

We are ALSO debuting a revamped Chippewa Junction as our Traditional themed Community Region. Located on the main hub of the Bellisseria Railroad, Chippewa Junction Town Hall features reservable spaces for conferences, meetings, garden parties and even weddings!

And yes you can reserve a time for a wedding here. One has to fill out this Google Doc: (link). There is no charge to use the venue, but there can only be one reservation per day.

Gemma Cleanslate checked in on some of the Bellisseria group chatter. Patch Linden stated, "It was a different type of challenge to retrofit this into an existing region instead of having a blank slate." A group notice by KrystalKandy would state, "Lots of hidden gems surrounding the area if you explore a little. The Town Hall has a library. A reception and wedding space. What seems to be a meeting room and or courtroom. And several other areas that are worth peeking at. ... Really well done! Big 'appaws' to the Moles! "

Taking a short look around myself, some of these gems were more obvious than others.  Next to the Town Hall sign, I saw a smaller one, "Speed Limit: 88 miles per hour." Considering the town hall's clock tower, I was thinking maybe I should get a DeLorean to drive around town.

New Linden Homes Now Available

A few days ago on Thursday March 3, the latest style of Linden Home, the modern-looking Newbrooke, was declared open for residents to get. Patch Linden announced the news in a thread the forums late in the day.

Today, we are pleased to release our latest Linden Home theme, Newbrooke!

Our concept of a modern container home community is stylish, warm, and inviting, while being nestled in a contemporary setting of rolling hills peppered with small lakes, ponds, and public pools.

All of the Newbrooke regions are offered in both 1024sqm and 512sqm sized parcels.   In total, there are 8 stylish house models to choose from, and the smaller 512sqm parcel homes can also be placed on a 1024sqm parcel, giving you a larger outdoor area.

As always, there is a theme-specific content pack available from the house controller, enabling you to match the style and theme with any modifications you wish to do. (Please refer to the covenant rules).

Also for this theme we have a brand new community region, “Newbank,“ for residents to enjoy and hang out with their neighbors.

We hope everyone enjoys the latest additions to the Belliseria continent and community!

The Newbrooke sims, are in a group numbering forty-eight, connected to the Chalet Bellisseria area by a single sim (Josie Banks). Like some other Bellisserian sims, they often have amusing names such as Seldome Scene, Two Wrights, Tickled Pink, Sheep Date, and others. One can walk down the streets, or drive a car that can be dropped onto various vehicle rezz spots. Already, many have been claimed and the new owners decorating. But there are also many just walking around and exploring around. Of the roads, there are bridges, both over water and over other roads. For more on the Newbrooke homes themselves, check out our article on the eight styles (here).

And like the past couple groups of Linden Home sims, there is a community center. It is located in the sim of Newbank. The center is on an island in the middle of the sim conencted to land by three bridges. The style of the place did remind me a little of the new Welcome Island that went up last year. But the various food courts were a nice touch.

Rainbow Magellan Linden Statue at Costner Bay Island, "Squishy Pickle" at Houseboat Area

Going back to Costner Bay Island, the island in the Costner Bay, Whiskey Bay, and Ondine sims, I noticed some small changes such as a small outdoor workshop in one corner. But the most visible addition was an enormous statue of Magellan Linden, painted in rainbow colors, minus a green pickle it was holding.

The question of was the exploring Linden celebrating Pride Month . or had been zapped by unicorns was answered by taking a closeup, and seeing a "Second Pride" flag in his hand, the Second Life logo done in rainbow and on a white field. The statue was places by Abnor Mole, the flag by Naughty Mole.

The object in the statue's hand wasn't the only pickle in the vicinity. Going to the houseboat area next to Bellisseria's northeast, I came across a community center with a number of picnic tables around a wooden building. Taking a closer look, the building was named "The Squishy Pickle."

There was a sign behind the counter "Menu: Pickle : 0L." With the lag, it looked for a moment like "U Pick : 0L." On the counters were a couple jars of pickles on sticks an avatar could click on, get one, and add/wear. There were also signs on the building of women with pickles and one picture of various Lindens and Moles with the pickles in hand.

So why is Linden Lab making a "big dill" over pickles at Bellisseria? Have they become fans of DJ Sheeba Metaluna and her "Flying Pickle Lounge"? Actually, there's a reason for the Lab's pickle joke, one that was explained in a chance encounter with one of the moles, the details which will be explained tomorrow.
