With everything else happening in Second Life, we almost forgot to check on one thing. Yours truly recalled the strange rocks Dahlia Linden was investigating, and went over to see what changed.

Update On The Mystery Rocks (Complete)

 

When we last wrote about the mystery rocks on three locations on the Second Life Mainland, we reported that what we found stated that something would happen on Monday February 16. Going back to check, there were a few changes. Plus we were also tipped on something else. After some delays due to real-life, we finally have the story.

More Mystery Rocks on Second Life Mainland

 

Since finding the mystery rock at the Bay City Airport, yours truly has come across two more.  Running into Melissa Æther (Mistaether Resident) of the Drivers of SL group, she told me she had an idea where there were others. And so we did a short road trip, and in the Dangun sim, near the road, there was another strange rock with the same strange symbol. Next to it was another note from Dahlia Linden, identical to the one at Bay City.

 

But that wasn't all we found.  There was also a camp there, one with a Bay City flag erected. It had been set up by T.J. Hooker, a Bay City resident. I couldn't find any papers out in the open there, and I wasn't going to break into locked containers. So we could only guess this was to study this strange rock, and perhaps lay a claim of some kind on it. 

 

We then headed to the other rock, which was in the Plenodyes sim, also near the road. It was like the previous two, with the same glowing blue symbol, and the same note by Dahlia Linden. The only difference it was lying on it's side. And like the second stone, there was another camp with a Bay City flag, also set up by T.J. Hooker. This one was a little larger with more equipment. But we would find no papers out in the open or any other record of findings. 

 

We thought we saw a couple people nearby, but one remained unrezzed the whole time, and the other just rotated in place as if dizzy, dressed in 18th Century wear, a bot of some kind. We had a short chuckle, and with on with our discussions, having a short snack Melisa had on her before we left, "At least they (the Bay City explorers) could have left behind some sandwiches."

 

So far, still no clue on what the nature of the three strange stones are, no clue who Dahlia Linden is, what the Bay City team (unless T.J. Hooker was acting alone) found, or just what this "shift" Dahlia wrote that will happen on on February 16, today, is.

Mystery Rock At Bay City Airport

 

I overheard some chatter in a Second Life group about a mystery rock located at Bay City, near it's airport. So I headed over to Hau Koda (98/9/31), where it lay on a hill, with some signs warning about an "anomaly" ahead.

 

 The rock had some odd blue symbol on it, colored bright blue.

 

 Next to it was a note, with the owner being a "Dahlia Linden."

 

It’s been a long journey, but I’ve finally arrived on the continent safely, and can start my research in full! 

A once in a lifetime opportunity has presented itself! My extensive study into anomalies has shown that this land is revealing energetic shifts in not only its core, but even within its structure as well. How curious. 

The readings I have been seeing have led me to this spot, where strange rocks have suddenly risen up from the earth’s surface! It’s as if they are stirring from a long deep slumber. Not just here either, but I am showing there are a few more of these strange rocks that have manifested on the continent as well. 

But why? And this sigil on the surface. What could it be?

According to my research, it seems as though there is going to be some sort of “shift”, or change in the future at these locations. What changes exactly? I am unsure.

Now, with my current notes and readings, it appears these rocks, or stones, rather, will have yet another change in approximately 30 days from today. The 16th of February. 

I will be sure to return around this time to see what further developments have been made. I will be sure to document every detail that I possibly can.

 Taken at Burn2. This exhibit had aliens rocking away at a stage  as if getting ready for a concert, with a few men in black suits observing. So why would aliens stage a concert? I could think of two reasons.

Relaystock, "Bid The Lindens Bald", Start Today

 

 

 Today, the Relay's salute to classic rock begins: the Relaystock. While organized by the Relay Rockers, many teams are taking part. By last night, most of the campsites had been taken by a team, and the people were getting ready. The music starts at 1PM SL time. Today's lineup was mentioned yesterday. 

For those showing up tomorrow, Saturday May 11, here's the schedule:

• 1:00PM – Kris Composer LIVE – Team Bobbi Sue

But there's more going on than just music. In one corner are the kiosks for "Bid the Lindens Bald." 

Governor Linden has announced the rosters for the five teams to compete in the 8th Annual Bid The Lindens & Moles Bald fundraising competition, in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Second Life.

 The teams, made up of a total of 40 Lindens and Moles, have accepted the challenge to out raise their colleagues and “Save Their Hair”.  The top fundraising team will be awarded the scissors with which they will shave the hair of the team with the lowest total. 

The team getting their hair shaved will be bald until the Second Life Birthday next month. People will have from today May 10 to Wednesday May 15 to donate. On the last day will be a party starting at Noon SL time during which time last minute bids are accepted then the results made final.

Among the Lindens taking part is Patch Linden, who has been somewhat scare in the past few months.

Relaystock Starts Tomorrow

 

 

It's almost time for the Relay for Life in Second Life's annual tribute to "the Summer of Love," the 2024 Relaystock. While there there's no sex and no drugs other than caffeine and catnip, there will certainly be plenty of rock an' roll.

It’s a weekend of Peace, Love and Hope, Great Music and yes, lots of MUD!  

Once again The Relay Rockers invite everyone to join them May 10, 11, 12 for RelayStock 2024, a multi team Relay For Life of Second Life event.

The event will feature ‘Team Sites’ around a 60s style festival stage. Relay teams are invited to bring Kiosks and Vendors, host DJ segments on the stage or invite live musicians to perform.

There are, on average, 40 – 50 Relay For Life teams that participate each year!

Sunbeamers and Roos Make Over 100K Each At The Relaystock, Relay Rockers Pass One Million

 

 

The Relayers had a lot of fun at the Relaystock Woodstock tribute. There were numerous teams taking part, as well as many live musicians and DJs. On Satutday night, it was the turn of two certain teams. At 6PM, DJ Cynthia of Team Subneamers would get on stage, dancing with a number of teammates to some classic rock tunes. At 7:30 PM, DJ Kayla and some from Roos With A Dream went on stage.

The results for both teams was a resounding success. The Sunbeamers raised over 111,000 Lindens that night, getting them almost to 900,000 L in total. Roos With A Dream did even better, netting 126,000 L for their set at the Relaystock stage. They were pushed to just shy of two-thirds of a million Lindens. 

Then there was the host team, the Relay Rockers, of who had their team captain, Trader Whiplash, DJing on stage for the last set at 5PM on Sunday. By the very end, their team total had passed the one million Linden mark, getting the team into Emerald ranked fundraising, seventh place among the list of Relay teams.

The Newser recently found out about a new Blues and Rock Club: Hard Times. While it hasn't been around very long, already it has over a dozen events a week. Bixyl Shuftan recently had a few words with it's owner, Whitewolf Broadfoot, about how the place got started and where it's going.

Relaystock Begins Today

 

While some Relayers are still a little sad about the closing of the Fantasy Faire, "the show must go on." And so the various teams are getting ready for the next big event: The Relaystock. This tribute to the Woodstock festival in 1969 will have DJs and live performers from Friday May 13 (today) to Sunday May 15. While the event is hosted by the Relay Rockers, it is a multi-team event with dozens of team campsites.

It’s a weekend of Peace, Love and Hope, Great Music and yes, lots of MUD!

The 2020 edition of Wootstock was a 60's tribute with a touch of 2020 thrown in with the mask, and of course Raglan Shire tiny zaniness. And that's just catnip they're smoking ... probably.

The Bellisseria Anniversary Rock and Sail

This weekend from Friday to Sunday, the first anniversary of the opening of the Linden Home continent of Bellisseria. On all three days, there were music and dance parties in the Fairgrounds. But on Friday and Saturday, there was also the "Rock and Sail." This was a boat parade from a spot on the middle of the western coast to the Fairground island. Gemma decided to take part in the Friday parade, which would be the longest journey she ever made by water.

Rock Climbing in Second Life

While residents in Second Life can usually teleport or fly to high places, what about being able to climb one's way up? at a place called Nitida Ridge, one can do just that. Just click on the sign at the place for some special equipment, and you'll be able to make your way up the cliff. And unlike real life, you probably won't panic with that look down.

Jesus Christ Superstar

On Sunday April 30, Gemma went to the Royal Opera and Gardens to see a certain play: Jesus Christ Superstar. Since it's debut in 1971, this story of Jesus made into a rock opera has been performed on many a stage. And now it has been in Second Life. Gemma gives her take on the play.

Interview With Lestat Zalivstok, Owner of the Winter Ice Rock Fest and Rebel Yells Concerts Sims

Wesley Regenbogen recently interviewed Lestat Zalivstok, who owns the Winter Ice Rock Fest and Rebel Yells Concerts area along with two co-owners. Lestat explains how the sim came to be, and why it's particular design, in addition to what one can expect there during and after the Christmas season.

Winter Ice Rock Festival 2014

One of the other wonderful regions I was hoping would be open for the winter  activities is the Winter Ice Rock Festival2014 @ Celebrities Hangout. I enjoyed this sim so much last year and could not wait to get to see it this year. The decor is lovely, all buildings and outdoor places are available to visit, hang out, relax , have some good food and drinks and loads of fun. For inside venues there is a lodge, and a restaurant where food is served, and a few other buildings where you can just sit and talk. 

The skating pond is quite long so you can do your flips and jumps and other tricks . If you don’t have a skate hud you will find nice skating balls , singles or couples for your use. Or you may want to rezz a sled to run across the ice or onto the snowy areas around the pond. A lovely sleigh is available for a guided tour. 


Even if you are not a skier be sure to hop on the sky train or  tram that goes up the hill and around the sim. At the top you can hop off for some skiing or sledding if you wish or just ride  back down. The view is marvelous. Stop over by Santa’s... where the reindeer are housed and in front are some kiosks with goodies to eat and drink. The region is the property of the Tribute Concert  group, the first tribute group in Second Life.  Enjoy!!

Trans-Siberian Tribute in Second Life

 Second Life is fortunate enough to get a number of tribute events, pulled together by some talented msucians (and virtual stagehands). And on Saturday December 14th, there was a tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They're a rock band known for playing classical music to a clearly modern beat, and this time of year their Christmas tunes are quite popular.

 You've heard their music on the radio in RL... You may of forked over big RL bucks to see them live... or maybe you couldn't afford it? The band comprised of heavy metal giants from groups such as Megadeath, Savatage, Journey.. have put together a Christmas show that is second to none, and Mavendorf Entertainment is the ONLY Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tribute Show worthy of being called #1 so catch their show today at NOON SLT at the United Realms of the Archipelago Battlegrounds.

The show was quite impressive, opening up with fog, and before long, the place was lit up with lots of laser lights, which the crowd cheered for. Not all of the event was dazzle and razzle. At one point the heavy music took a pause while a children's chior sang.

Great music with great special effects.
