CDS Holds Inauragal Ball

Sunday June 12 at the CDS was the Inaugural Ball, their party to celebrate a new term of their government. The event was held at the Schloss Ballroom in the Neufreistadt sim from Noon to 2 PM.

Join  in the beautiful Neufreistadt Schloss Ballroom to celebrate with the newly elected CDS Government Members and to celebrate our move to VWEC Eduverse.

The theme of the event was "La Belle Epoque," described as "The era spanning years between the end of the Franco-Prussian War and the Beginning of Word War One." DJ Calli provided the music.

The CDS has been active lately. With Tor Karlsvalt as their current Chancellor, they have been in the process of having their community's land moved closer to VWEC Eduverse and other science sims. They also have an exhibit at the Second Life Birthday celebration, at SLB Amaze (164/63/23).

The CDS Inaugural Ball

 

The Confederation of Democratic Simulators has a new leader, Chancellor Kyoko Furse-Barzane (Samara Barzane). And to celebrate, they held an Inaugural Ball in her honor. Also honored were the new and reelected members of the Representative Assembly. There was music, dancing, and some fancy outfits.

The Mad Hatter's Ball is a whimsical and fun fancy dress ball with a theme inspired by the Lewis Carrol classic, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".  The Hatter is a Victorian-era hat maker to the Queen; he is not angry, but he is crazy-silly-fun "mad".  Brooke Brandenburg has transformed the Ballroom into the Wonderland world of the Mad Hatter.  Rosie Gray's event poster spectacularly captures the spirit of the event.

We have two amazing performers who will lead the festivities, our own DJ QT and Maximillion Kleene!

DJ QT will open the Ball at 1130 SLT.  Live from Holland, QT recently entertained us during the fun dancing-in-the-rain April Showers event.  We are excited to welcome her playful mix of rockabilly, blues, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s music back for our Ball!

Maximillion Kleene takes the mic at 1200 SLT.  Max is a live singer in Niagara Falls, Canada and winner of multiple Avi-Choice Awards over the years.  He has been thrilling audiences in SL since 2007 with his musical magic and vast repertoire of quirky, classic, and current covers.  See http://wslpromo.net/max-kleene/ for Max's bio and song list.

QT will return to the live stream at 1300 SLT for the final hour of our celebration.

The CDS Inaugural Ball celebrates the incoming Chancellor and members of the Representative Assembly for the 33rd term.  The Oath of Office Ceremony officiated by the Dean, will take place on Monday 25 May at 1200 SLT.  All are welcome to attend.

Scenes From The CDS Inaugural Ball, Bay City's Christmas Party

There's lots going on this month when it comes to events, especially those with Christmas themes. Among those the Newser was at last weekend were the Inaugural Ball at the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, and Bay City's "Annual Tree Lighting, Concert, and Fundraiser." There was much music and dancing at both, and of course lots of fun.

Singer AleyKat - 1 - 2 pm SLT will change it up with her gorgeous vocals.

Only twice a year does the Confederation of Democratic Simulators get to chose a new leader (or keep the existing one). When a new leader is chosen, the community celebrates with an Inaugural Ball. But the ball to help ring in Chancellor Kyoko's term was different in that the new leader designed the setup for the party.

Announcement: The CDS Inaugural Ball This Saturday, Dec 15

The Confederation of Democratic Simulators (CDS) invites all CDS Citizens and friends to the Inaugural Ball for our 30th Term.

The theme is TOKYO NIGHTS in honor of our newly elected Chancellor, Kyoko (Samara Barzane), and the Representative Assembly. 

Music will be provided by Callipygian Christensen.

Dress is not required to be formal, although you may feel welcome to wear evening dress. You are encouraged to dress for the theme; Japanese cosplay, kawaii or goth, would be welcome.
