Perri Prinz: REC came home from paying the rent saying they are not only raising the rent, but they are insisting he pay on the 1st some the month, when he knows he doesn't get paid till the middle of the month, and we have no savings to come up with an extra month's rent, which is what we need to beat this eviction trap. The rent is $860.
As you can see they need our help ASAP, if you can donate cash GREAT! If not we will be having an event this Friday to help them raise lindens more info on that coming soon!

Xanadu's Grand Reopening
On Thursday June 17 at 6PM SL time, the Xanadu classic rock club reopened it's doors. For months, the club had no regular events as the owners dealt with real-life issues, though would play some impromptu ones. Finally, all was set to go.
Starting at the top of the hour it's the Xanadu Grand Re-Opening with DJ Christine playing various tunes on the theme of opening and starting over. We have a spectacular new dance machine you can click as you walk in the door. A new trivia machine. A new lighting system. And the sploder will be loaded. Contest is come as you are, and we hope a good time will be had by all.
A number of partiers showed up, mostly from the local Sunweaver community, happy to see Xanadu in action once more. As advertised, there was a trivia ball answering some rock music-themed questions, some easier than others. Some were using a new dance ball, one that didn't have the people who clicked on it dancing in place but moved their position as it had them dance in synchronized patters.
At various points, hearts and soap bubbles filled the air. Then at one point, someone requested "We Didn't Start The Fire." To which DJ Christine responded over the radio she'd see about that, and the floor went aflame, looking more like "Disco Inferno."
Currently, Xanadu has two weekly events, Thursdays from 6-8PM and Saturdays 8-10PM. The club is looking to hire more DJs and hosts, and other staff.Xanadu is co-owned by Perri Prinz (whom is also one of the DJs) and Recoyote Mindes. It is a member of the FCA, and located at HV Community (67/207/4051).

Club Xanadu Reopening Tonight
Club Xanadu has been on hiatus. But earlier this week, Perri Prinz, the co-owner and manager of Club Xanadu announced that the venue would be reopening on Thursday June 17, today. The event will be from 6-8 PM, and this will be the first of events every week at this time.
Due to the fact that The Happy Vixen made a prime time slot available to us, we're going to give another shot at keeping Xanadu open for weekly events. That will be Thursdays 6-8 PM SLT. Starting this week. We are now hiring staff, and we currently don't have any. So if you think we won't hire you, think again. We need DJ's, hosts, pole dancers, advertisers and teachers for the newbies. I would also pay a lot for someone who could track down bugs in the sim and keep it running smoothly.
Xanadu is co-owned by Perri Prinz and Recoyote Mindes. The club is located at HV Community (67/207/4051). It has been around since 2009.

Club Xanadu Closing Indefinately
Club Xanadu's co-owner RECoyote Mindes informed the Newser that the venue would be closing it's doors to events. There are no plans to reopen, at least for now.
Xanadu, occasionally called "The Vinyl Museum," is jointly owned by RECoyote and Perri Prinz. The building is a classic rock club named for the movie in which the Pan Pacific Auditorium is restored to a nightclub. There have been several periods of hiatus when real-life interfered with the management, but the building has always stood there since it's construction.

Club Xanadu Reopens
Good news for fans of Club Xanadu. After a break of several weeks, the club will be reopening. Owned by Perri Prinz and RECoyote Mindes, the club has recently gotten a new manager to help schedule events, Kit Drago.
The club is doing three events over two days this week, Friday from 4-6PM and Saturday from 4-6PM and 6-8PM, but that may soon increase. DJ applications are being accepted.

Xanadu is Back, Official Re-Opening Tonight
Some good news for fans of Club Xanadu. After being closed for months, the venue is back in operation. After some time in hiatus, co-owner and operator Perri Prinz felt it was time to bring the place up and running. She had planned for Monday night to start things up.
But then the unexpected happened. When Sunweaver Estate owner Rita Mariner tried to restart Sunweaver Bay where Club Cutlass was, the sim wouldn't come back online. So when it was time for the Saturday night party, the event was moved to Xanadu.
The theme was "Doctors and Nurses" as a salute to those on the front line combating the global Coronovirus epidemic. 3000 Lindens was on both the male and female boards, and the place soon had a number of people dancing away.
The contest was won by Zorro Wuramunga and Mieka May (MiekaRueon Resident) for men and women respectively.
Perri would write about the event on her Facebook page.

Club Xanadu Reopens
Last night at 8PM SL time, November 6, Club Xanadu opened it's doors to a regular event for the first time in over a year. And a number of people dropped by the classic rock club, some from the Happy Vixen which had just finished it's Tuesday night events.
Cynthia Farshore was the DJ for the club's Grand Reopening, with the setup behind her looking like one huge collection of records.
Perri Prinz and RECoyote Mindes, the cowners of the club, were out on the dance floor with the crowd. The music went on for two hours, Cynthia's last song being, "The Party's Over" by Journey.
"Thank you for coming and making the re-opening of Perri's Xanadu a success!"
Club Xanadu is located at HV Community (67/207/4051).

Xanadu Grand-Reopening Tomorrow
After a period of inactivity, the "Xanadu" classic rock club will soon be back in business. Perri Prinz, the current co-owner and manager, announced the club will have four events this week, starting with a Grand Re-Opening party on Tuesday at 8PM SL time. The theme will be "Come As You Are."
Xanadu, sometimes called "Perri's Xanadu" or "The Vinyl Museum," was established in 2009. It is owned by Perri and RECoyote Mindes, and is named for the movie in which the Pan Pacific Auditorium is restored to a nightclub. There have been a few periods of hiatus when real-life interfered with the management, but the building has always stood there since it's construction. Among some of the more noteworthy events were the Newser's Fifth Anniversary party and the "Fallout Party" in which Perri played tunes from the time period the game gets much of it's music. The club went inactive in July last year. Currently, Perri is looking for more DJs, and an assistant manager. For now, it's schedule is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8-10PM SL time.

Perri Prinz Talks About Her Livejournal Troubles, Facebook Suspension
Times have not been easy lately for Perri Prinz, one of the members of the Sunweaver community where the Newser makes it's home. She is best known as a writer, and one of the things a writer fears is having access to one's audience cut off. First Livejournal, the hosting service of her Spectral Shadows serialized science-fiction novel, demanded a huge amount of money from her to keep the illustrations on. Her response was to put her fiction writing on hold, and instead use her pen to non-fiction, writing commentaries about the Furry Fandom and society at large. But a few people didn't like what she had to say, and one day she found Facebook, where most of her audience was getting her stories, had shut down her account. The Newser recently met up with Perri, to talk about this de-facto censorship, and she had a few things to say about it. As it turns out, she may be writing soon again.

Club Xanadu Goes on Hiatus
There was a little sad news for fans of Club Xanadu over the weekend. On Sunday July 16, Perri Prinz announced that she was taking an indefinite break from running shows there.
Due to health problems and other real life issues, I can no longer run events at Xanadu. Any hosts and DJ's with cards in the boards can run events in the club as they please, but I don't expect I'll be around to help. If somebody wants to take over, please do. But otherwise I just have to let it slide.
The classic rock club first opened in the Sunweaver Estates in May 2009, co-owned by Perri and her partner RECoyote Mindes, its design based on the club in the movie of the same name, which in real life was the Pan Pacific Auditorium. Over the years, Perri has had a reputation of being a skilled DJ with a good knowledge of music, which was demonstrated at the "Fallout Party" in April. In March, the club reopened after a hiatus of over a year and a half. Besides music, Perri has also been known as a fiction writer, notably her serial sci-fi/fantasy story "Spectral Shadows." But lately she has done some nonfiction commentary concerning her opinion of the state of furry fandom and the threat of the radical-left Antifa group.
It is hoped that Perri's real-life troubles will ease so she will be able to return to DJing.

Commentary: Perri Prinz Writes About The Effect Of The Antifa
In February 2016, Perri Prinz of Second Life's Sunweaver community announced she was no longer updating her Livejournal which she had used to discuss various topics. Her writing was limited to her Spectral Shadows serial story, which still can be read at http://spectralshadows.livejournal.com/. She has recently taken a break from that and gone back to writing nonfiction articles and briefs. The reason: zealots known as the Antifa.
Perri, under the name Perri Rhoades, recently wrote a commentary for Furry Times, "The Fandom That Feared Itself." Starting off by calling it the story of how "something truly horrible had happened to the Furry Fandom." In her article, she described her reading about how trolls and zealots were claiming Nazis were present among fans of the genre, and threats of force against them were necessary. Eventually, they would succeed in shutting down a convention through death threats. To Perri, these extremists regarded their targets as having no rights, and her questioning of their actions got her labeled as a "Nazi."Anyone who even remotely knows Perri would see such statements at best some kind of sick joke. She is best known for her DJing of classic rock 60s and 70s songs, sometimes in bell-bottomed pants, and is the co-owner of a classic rock club with images of the era. Hardly the mark of someone on the far right. In her "Spectral Shadows," at least one character described as conservative was very unsympathetic towards those who were different. She hasn't been the only unfair target. One other so-called "Nazi" turned out to be half-Thai and gay.
So what does this have to do with Second Life? Yours truly has seen the black paw print in a white field on a red armband used as a parody of the infamous fascist armband (not unlike Charlie Chaplin's "double cross" in "The Great Dictator") in the past inworld, as well as groups such as "Fox Supremacists" of which the names were meant to be a gag.
The Antifa has done more than just shut down a convention of sci-fi/fantasy fans. Their threats of violence have also resulted in an annual parade in Portland Oregon being called off. And riots by them at Berkley forced a conservative speaker to cancel an appearance. One writer in the Wall Street Journal commented the danger wasn't just within the Berkley campus, but if not stopped they would have a chilling effect on free speech.
Perri stated that unless the Antifa communists were clearly labeled as the thugs they were and isolated, they would continue to poison the minds of young adults into seeing violence and threats of as an acceptable method of dealing with those they don't like, "we must ... reaffirm our stance against censorship. We must be more protective of freedom of speech and freedom of expression than we’ve ever been before, as it is those things that are under attack."
Addition: Perri has started up her Livejounral again, reprinting her commentary there, which has already been getting comments by others. I also forgot to mention the New Fallout WW2 Combat Roleplay, which has some German groups.

For close to a month, Team Sunbeamers has had a number of "Bid Me" events going. Finally on Friday, April 21, at 8PM, the kiosks for the events were frozen, and the amounts calculated. Team captain made an announcement of the results the following day, in the cases of events involving more than one kiosk only the amount of the winning one announced.

Of the video auction, Dusk Griswold gets to chose the theme of Nydia Tungsten's next video, as well as the dancers or actors. Some, including Rita and myself, are stuck in new avatars for a week. Though as yours truly does some work on journalism, on some occasions such as when doing interviews I'll be temporarily back in my usual avatar.
The Sunbeamer team has been described as "creeping towards Silver." In the past three weeks, the team has raised about twenty thousand Linden dollars, the team total as of when this article was written adding up to 122,700 Lindens (Totals page). .This upcoming weekend, Club Cutlass and the Happy Vixen, two clubs of the Sunweaver and Angel communities, of which most of the members of Team Sunbeamers make their home, will be a part of the Club Crawl. Future planned events include an air show, a road rally, a tribute party for the late Artistic Fimicloud, and others.

Reader Submitted: Xanadu's "Fallout" Party
Perri Prinz is a DJ and the owner of the Xanadu classic rock club in Second Life, as well as the writer of "Spectral Shadows." On the night of Sunday April 9, Xanadu ran a "Fallout" themed party. A game of a post-apocalyptic setting might seem like an odd theme for a classic rock club. But as it turns out, the music from the Fallout games comes from what Perri describes as a "lost period" in music history that the game was helping to revive interest in. Perri would write about the event afterwards.

More "Bid Me" Events For RFL Team Sunbeamers
Today the time period of the Relay for Life team Sunbeamer "Bid Me" events for team captain Rita Mariner and Ranchan Weidman from last week come to an end. But for those wanting more of the "Bid Me" fun are in for a treat as there are a number of new ones. A couple days ago on Monday, there were eight announced, the kiosks all at Club Cutlass.
We have 8, yes 8 BID ME going and 1 Auction now running at Cutlass. So please find the time to come over, check them out and BID on them, if you so desire.
BIXYL will go Toshi mini Fox if he losesBRANDI - will go young innocent mousie, if she loses
RITA- will go back to my first hideous avatar, if I lose
NYDIA is auctioning off a music video of your making
Perri is offering to go BLUE VIXEN or CHOCO BUNNY
Four of her friends are offering dates.
Since the announcement, there's been one more Bid Me added, another one for a date. for a total of ten events.
To fill in the details, Brandi Streusel is offering to stay a child/cub avatar for a week. Rita is getting into the Bid Me for a second time, this occasion offering to change into her first avatar, her "ebil tan rat." Perri Prinz has two options besides keeping her her bunny self, blue vixen, or as it will soon be Easter her chocolate bunny avatar. At least 3000 Lindens are needed for them to keep their new look for a week.
Four of Perri Prinz's friends are also up for date auctions: Christine Rhodes, aka "The Magic Fox," who DJs at Xanadu on Sunday nights, and Vicki Anderson, Kacey Carver, and Clover Lappina. Kacey is fairly unique as she has a pinkish squirrel/skunk hybrid appearance. There's a minumum 1000L to bid them a date, which will last about three to six hours.
Nydia Tungsten had a different idea: an auction. This time the winner gets to choose what she'll do a music video on, picking the song, dancers, and location (subject to her approval). Skylark Lefavre is also offering a date, with a minimum bid of 5000, the details being nothing more than a hug or cuddle and no outfit more revealing than a bikini.
And then, there's me. Last year's "Fox Avatar Challenge" resulted in me going tiny for a while. So this year, just the Tokushi tiny fox is up. 5000 Lindens means I get shrunk down for a week, with another day for every additional 2000 L (rounded down) raised. Since yours truly has reporter duties, I reserve the right to go back to full size when doing an interview or similar work. Otherwise I'm stuck at kneecap level. Last year, I ended up spending eight days as a tiny. How high it will be this time, who knows. The "Bid Me" events will be around probably for two weeks, until Wednesday April 12, until the totals are finalized and the results announced. But don't wait too long. Before you know it, your chance to give me the "tiny toss" will be gone.
The kiosks are at Club Cutlass at Sunweaver Bay (114/117/757).
