Press Release: Third Annual Castle, Home and Garden Contest

All year long a group of builders have been working hard towards one goal: to compete in the Third Annual Castle, Home and Garden Contest! Spanning across 12 sims, there will be 28 teams competing to win Best in Show for two categories- Best Castle and Best Home and/or Garden. During the week individuals will have the opportunity to explore and admire the builds while the esteemed judges will evaluate and determine a winner. The 1st Place Castle will get $L100,000 to their team, and the 1st place Home and/or Garden will get $L100,000 for their team. In addition to this, they will have what's called a Popular Vote. The Popular Vote entails a kiosk being in front of all builds and the build with the most linden in their kiosk wins the Popular Vote. The winner of the Popular Vote will get an additional $L50,000 linden to their team.

An event that has raised over $L800,000 for the American Cancer Society before even opening its doors, it will offer an astounding number of merchants- 79 stores will be set up across 12 sims. We have merchants that span across all sorts of shopping- breedables, fashion, furniture, medieval and fantasy huds, and much much more!

"Once Upon a Hunt", a hunt featuring 50 plus items, will run throughout the two weeks. Each builder will have a dance or event at their build promoting their build and their Popular Vote Kiosk. Two speed build contests, an Opening and Closing Ceremony, a Snail race, concerts, and the hunt are key features of the schedule.

Come explore the 12 sims- journey across the land of the Smurfs, join Aslan in the chronicles of Narnia, enjoy some merry shopping in Holiday World, believe in magic on Once Upon a Time, take a tale far far away in Brothers Grimm, join Snow White Anna and Rapunzel on Princesses, go to the land of the Mother of Dragons on Meereen, join the dragons on Dragonriders of Pern, go back into the world of Sherlock Holmes on Victorian London, join the hobbits in the Shire, find Harry Ron and Hermione on Godric's Hollow, and go down, down, down with Alice from May 23 to June 4th!

Come appreciate the builds. Each builder has experienced cancer in one way or another, whether they had or have it themselves or they cared for someone who did. Each build tells their story, their journey of cancer. We hope to see you there! Press Release: M&M Creations Asking For Modular Tester

Do you like Castles, is it your passion?

I am building a modular castle and would like to have feedback from a tester. Someone who wants to build with and explore the possibilities of the modular parts I make.

Who is willing to invest some time and energy in fine tuning the castle parts (by giving comments)? Give me feedback for improvements and find those small flaws.

I test on the beta grid so you must have access to that. Please European time zone only so we both have daylight.

Apart from the fun which a castle addict must have with a new castle, I will give you the final castle pack(s) for free.

Press Release: Team Strange Journey Castle Contest

2nd Annual Castle Contest
In Support of Relay For Life of Second Life
June 15-21

Come one, come all to a weeklong event featuring castles built by amateur and professional builders alike! Builders sign up and then construct a castle that is featured. Castles are laid out onto the sim and everyone can walk around and take a look at each castle set up!

At the end of the week, seven judges will go around and use a list of criteria to judge their castles. The castle with the best score will win first prize of L$100,000! This prize will go to the team of their choice or to the General Kiosk, supporting the American Cancer Society (which is actually an international organization).

Throughout the week, we will have round-the-clock DJ entertainment, plus various contests and castle parties/dances throughout the week! We will also have many vendors sprawled across the Sims.
We are still in need of more castles. Please consider building a castle yourself-- or if you can't do that, find someone who can! Then, go to this website and read the guidelines and sign up.

Creations For a Cause

Gemma Cleanslate recently visited Creations Park, the home of the Creations for Parkinson's group. Going to the place for an art exhibit, she continued to look around, and found there was a lot to see. From a pristine beach to an underwater Atlantis to castles to a winter wonderland, Creations Park will keep you coming back for more for both the events and the numerous places to explore.

Castle Quest - Looking For Love in All the Strong Places

Becky Shamen's explorations of the Grid took a stony turn for the latest article. She decided to check out a few of the castles across Second Life. Castles certainly leave a strong impression. What tale of Fantasy or of old Europe would be complete without one. One doesn't always have to go far to find one, as there's one not far from the SL Newser office in the Sunweaver Estates. But not all places that call themselves a castle in the destination guide left much of an impression on our intrepid reporter.
