Announcement: Univ of Hawaii, Astronomy Presents: "Seven Seas for Seven Brothers"

Friday, April 28th at 9:30 PM PDT
Institute for Astronomy - U. Hawaii Astronomy Amphitheater:

Trappist-1, a red dwarf star 40 light years from us, was known to host three planets. Last year, four more were discovered, making a total of seven planets for this little star. All seven are possibly habitable with water oceans. This sci-fi-like system, so different from ours, suggests an exotic yet pleasant place for people to live ... but is it?
