Sunbeamer Medieval Fun Faire/Country Music Event In Caledon Downs

Over the weekend, much attention was on the upcoming Relay Walk, which was only a week away, with numerous teams getting their camps ready. But some teams were still squeezing in some last events. Among them, Team Sunbeamers, which had it's Medieval Fun Fair on Saturday June 1, hosted by Cynthia Farshore. But it wouldn't be all Medieval.

Everyone I remind you that at the Sunbeamer Medieval Fun Fair we are going a bit modern with a great show, the Country Rebels a Garth Brooks cover in one hour, 3pm.

The Newser wasn't there until later in the event, but Oldesoul got some pictures of  Cynthia DJing for the crowd. The Country Rebels were also scheduled to perform, but there were some technical difficulties. There was a stage, presumable supplied by the Rebels. But when the Newser got there, the stage was taken down and people were dancing around on the floor. Over 11,000 L was raised in the music part of the event.

Besides the music, there were a number of activities one would expect from a ren-faire, such as jousting, axe throwing, and a steeplechase horse race. There was at least one prize given out: a medieval style battle axe.

A number of other teams sent someone to the event, such as Purple Tears, the Second Life Cheerleading Squad, Team ACTS, and Roos With A Dream.

The final Sunbeamer event, the last Moon Dance, will be taking place on Thursday, June 6, at 6 PM, in Sunweaver Space.

Addition: We originally stated the Country Rebels performed, but heard there were some technical difficulties. Cynthia stated from 10 to 12 Noon, DJ Kayala and the Roos performed and raised 12,000 for Roos With A Dream. The faire raised a total of $16,345 for the Sunbeamers. The archery and axe throwing contests were won by Wateru Kohime.

Go Sunbeamers! Go Relay!
