Vixie commented a better punch line might have been "I hope they accept my 'Alien Express Card.' "
My punchline was influenced by recent events in the news, with the Gulf oil spill some have been asking why we're still using the stuff. Believe it or not, gasoline power cars were once praised by people as they were seen as less polluting than horses. Our current alternatives, solar, for which the sun isn't always shinning, wind, for which the wind isn't always blowing, and then nuclear, for which after Three Mile Island some people seem to go ballistic every time the word "nuclear" is used.
With this in mind, perhaps aliens might still be inclined to use fossil fuels whenever they were available.
