 Taken at SLCS Funday. Someone was going around dressed as a clown, sometimes dancing, but sometimes acting sneaky. With October approaching, it got me thinking of when they're less funny, and more creepy.

Taken at the Montecito Bay "Talk Like A Pirate Day" party. The hostess was dressed as a buccaneer with a peg leg. The expression "pulling your leg" might take on a whole new meaning with someone with that.

Cartoon of The Day: That Shrinking Feeling

 

 Taken at the Happy Vixen beach club with Nydia Tungsten. I had decided to see if my microfox avatar, made almost a decade and a half ago, still worked. It did. While it's not the smallest avatar - the Lomtech is half it's height, it handles the dance floor just fine. 

 

For those who don't know what "shrinkflation" means, it's when companies start selling goods in smaller packages, but charge the same amount as when they were in a larger package. One especially sneaky tactic is over the course of many years sell items in increasingly smaller packages. Then they introduce a "Extra Large" package at a much higher price that is really the original package before the shrinkage began.

Cartoon of The Day: Any Good In A Fight?

 

 Taken at Montecito Bay. This ottergirl was in a witch's outfit, but carrying a crystal ball. With magic users ending up in fights, it occurred to me that something designed for getting glimpses of the future wouldn't seem to be any good in a quick fight. But glass made into a solid heavy ball has one obvious use in a brawl.

Bellisseria Oasis Water Park

 

On Sunday August 23, I heard about a water park at Bellesseria Fairgrounds, the "Big Splash Adventure Oasis Water Park." It had just opened, and there was a party to celebrate. 

 

The party, in front of a small stage on the beach sand, had over a dozen present, including the DJ and the two "Bell Hammies." Besides the music, there was much joking to be had, and one of the hammies getting into a little trouble, "You're lucky you're cute." 

 

After the party came checking out the pool and slides. There were chairs you could just sit and relax on. But the real fun was with the water slides. Just click on the ring over the exit, and be teleported to the top. There, just sit on the innertube, and enjoy the ride. It's best viewed in mouselook.

 

The ride may not be up for too long, though. With the traditional end of Summer vacation season a little more than a week away, it's possible the park may close just afterwards.

 Taken at Bellisseria Fairgrounds. At a party, among the ladies dancing were these two, one with a hatchet. So how did she get it? I could think of one way.

Cartoon of The Day: Abnor Mole's Car

 

 From the Ttans-Sansara Causeway. There was one single car on the yet to be completed bridge, from Abnor Mole. It had the slogan "Mo Homes" on the side. Since he works in expanding Bellisseria and it's Linden Homes, it seems that's what he enjoys doing, and maybe a strong hint of what's to come in the future.

 Taken at one of DJ Tantari's parties. One guy had a Sabertooth avatar, with the teeth. And well, it had the usual problem of "clipping," making him looking at times like he stabbed himself.

It Came From The Forums

 

 

 Checking the Second Life Forums, on "How Does Your SL Look Today" on page 682 there was this post by Spiffy Voxel, which was a response to one by Ernest Deed, Spiffy expressing disappointment that the hat on the Newser's SL23B exhibit was not "a cunningly-disguised flying-saucer."

 

Well, we ave had a few flying saucer cartoons over the years.

 Taken at the SL23B Orpheum Theater. Someone had over his head "Don't mention football!!" Why he didn't want others doing that, I don't know. But with the FIFA championships going on, I could think of one reason.

 Taken at the Second Life Birthday's Red Carpet Welcome. There's a line from some mothers in cartoons and dramas, "I need eyes in the back of my head." So when I noticed this avatar with an eyeball on the tip of her tail, looking back, you can guess what I thought of.

Taken at the SL23B. One of the girls had a pet opossum that when she wasn't moving lay limp over her arm. In real life, the creatures go into catatonic shock when frightened. But it used to be thought it was playing dead, or "playing possum."
