Relay Track Still Open, For Now

While the big news is the Second Life Birthday, the Relay has not quite dropped out of sight. Almost a week after the Flood Party, the Relay track remained open. Dropping by yesterday on Tuesday, the situation was much like it was on Thursday. Many of the camps and exhibits were gone. But some were still around. It's not just people in the builder's group. Sending an alt over, he could get in as well.

Among the places still up are three sims near the permanent American Cancer Society sim, RFL Strength,  RFL Survivor, and Fiona Fei's colorful RFL Spirit. They were mostly intact with plenty to see, and the bears making grunting noises that were now audible with the music turned off. Some of the story pages in Survivor were taken down. But it was still a well done place with all the trees and plants.

It's unknown when the sims will finally come down. Maybe tomorrow, maybe today. Maybe by the time you the readers see this, the sims will already have closed. But if not, feel free to drop by and see what remains

Relay Sims Open

Some good news from the Relay for Life. All of the sims on the Relay Weekend Track, not just those for the Five Days of Relay, as well as the American Cancer Society sim, are now open to visitors. There are a lot of great builds, so all are encouraged to see them while they're up. The builds will remain up for a few days next week after the weekend.

Many teams have campsites on the Relay track this year. This includes the Sunbeamers. The camp has a train station, as well as a train track that takes one to various displays of information on medical knowledge of cancer though history, an airport, a memorial garden, a prayer tower, a relaxation campsite, and more.

The relaxation campsite is a favorite part as a group of people can just sit by the campfire and chill, with or without a cold drink by the cooler. RFL Strength (138/195/23)

Remember, the Relay Weekend 24 hour event starts at 10AM SL time tomorrow. For those waning to come early, the Relay Rap is at 7AM. Word has it there will be a special guest.

Team Sunbeamers Reach 300,000 Lindens Raised

The RFL Club Crawl that's been going on over the weekend has been very good for both Team Harmony for Hope and for Team Sunbeamers. Last night at the Club Cutlass party, the "Sunnies" reached the 300,000 Linden dollar mark. A month after reaching Platinum Level fundraising, "The Little Team That Could" continues to move forward. For those wanting to help the team closer to Jade Level, come to the Happy Vixen tonight at 3 PM SL time for the Sunbeamer's last part of the club crawl, at Purrfection Estates (236, 219, 24)

Once the club crawl is over and done with , the team can focus building it's campsite at the Relay Track. None of us can get it's location yet, in northeast RFL Strength. So yours truly had to crack his viewer's draw distance up to the maximum to get a picture.

So what do we have planned for this year? You'll see.

Go Sunbeamers! Go Relay!

Relay for Life 2015: The Sunbeamer Camp

Every year, the Relay For Life's fundraising season culminates into one main event: The Walk. Taking place on a track covering over a few dozen sims, the teams are invited to build camps across the landscape. Team Sunbeamers is no exception, having made a build every year. And this year's build offers much to see, as well as a game to do.

Read more in Places.

Tomorrow ...

This is it! Tomorrow's the day the Relayers have been waiting for all season: The Relay Walk. The Track is ready. The camps are all built.

The sim where Team Sunbeamer, the team of the Sunweaver Estates where the SL Newser office makes it's home, is on the northwest corner of RFL Strength at  (35/135/21).

On the southeast corner are our longtime friends in the Relay, the Steelhead Salmons.

On the southwest corner is Team Walking Tall For a Cure.

And our next door neighbors on the northeast corner are the Knights of Avalon.

Keep in mind these four great exhibits are on just one sim. Imagine what all forty have?

The Relay for Life Walk takes place tomorrow, with the Opening Ceremony at 10 AM.
