Burn2 Festival Ends, Sims Still Up For Now
This weekend was the high point, and the final two days of the Burn2 art and music festival. Saturday was the burning of "The Man," which took place just after Noon SL time. The wooden build burned, and collapsed to the ground, followed by the Burners going over and dancing over the embers.
This was followed on Sunday with the Temple Burn. Starting at Noon, various prayers were read as they burned in the censor, "Peace & Love for the World, which we live in." After a half hour, it too began going up in flames. Like "The Man," once the temple's ashes started to cool, the Burners paraded and danced around the remains. Someone would post a short video of the burn (link).
But Burn2 is about much more than the burning of it's two most important structures. The twelve sims have numerous builds, some quaint, some very well done, and some that show a lot of imagination.
The sims should be up for a few more days, though some of the camps will likely be taken up early, allowing more people to see them before most of the sims fade back into the virtual nether, leaving only the permanent Burning Man - Deep Hole. But for those who missed it, there are a few spinoff events across the year.

Fantasy Faire Ends (Officially)
After seventeen days, a little more than half a month, the Fantasy Faire, one of the more noted events of the Relay for Life fundraising season, has come to an end. At least officially. Unofficially, the sims will be up for one more day, for those who haven't yet finished the Fairelands Quest, or for those who simply want to walk around and enjoy the sights, and shops, one more time.

RFL Home And Garden Events End
*
The events at the Relay For Life's Home and Garden Expo ended at 8PM Sunday night, March 20, with a fireworks show over the main stage in Hope 1. For over three weeks, the stage had seen many performers on stage, with other sims hosting auctions, discussions, contests, and of course shopping.
Earlier at 4PM was the last of the Lantern Ceremonies, in honor of those lost in the battle with cancer.
In the ceremonies, numerous paper lanterns floated to the sky (picture from Cynthia Farshore).
Store (and media) owners were told, "We officially close at 11.59pm tonight. However the regions often remain for a couple days after official closing. So if you want to leave things in place until the regions evaporate feel free to do so, but remember to take any no copy items from your display ASAP please."
And for those taking part, there was this little gift.
We are honored to have been involved with so many kind and generous people. Expo has, as always, been a wonderful experience and the beginning of many new friendships.
Through all the hard work, dedication and generosity, you have all made this event so very special, meaningful and a true example of what can be achieved through Second Life.
So from us all once again, thank you for all your efforts.
While the sims should be up for a couple more days for further shopping, the RFL Home & Garden Expo is over. But the Relay season goes on. The various Relay teams are having their events. And a month from now, the Fantasy Faire begins on Thursday April 21.
Go Relay!

The Second Life Seventeenth Birthday Event Ends
And it's over. For almost a month since Friday June 19, the Second Life Birthday has been going on. The official music events ended on Sunday June 28, but the sims remained up for people to see. Now, the sims are closed to the general public.
For some however, they can stick around for a few more days. Missy Mole (Mischievous Mole) posted the following in the exhibitor's group:
The Estate is open through Sunday, July 19th for people to come in and continue to explore. The practical side of this is DON'T take down your exhibits yet! You can clean up your parcels July 20-22. Thanks everyone for a great Birthday! I hope everyone had a good time. I would love to hear any feedback you have about how things worked and what you thought of the layout this year.
So yours truly has a little more time to take pictures. Though there's always at least one whom takes down his place early.

Correction: I found out late Tuesday that the sims are still up to the public, one resident saying the time was extended another week to the 19th.
