Exhibit: "The Cartoon Art of Charles Addams"

There's an art exhibition appropriate for the spooky season of October. Strangeland Studios is hosting an exhibit on "The Cartoon Art of Charles Addams."

It's time to pay a call on the Addams Family!  Our annual Halloween show will be up from October 1 thru the end of November! AT STRANGELANDS STUDIOS

Charles Addams was a cartoonist for the New Yorker whom is known for toons with a macabre sense of humor, notably those focusing around an eccentric family of whom lived in a spooky mansion, the two kids were trying to kill one another, the butler resembled the Frankenstein monster, and whose idea of fun is walking around graveyards. First drawing art for The New Yorker in 1933, the first of these cartoons appeared in 1938. He would continue doing his work until his death in 1988, having done a total of about 1200 cartoons.

Before his time at the New Yorker, Addams had a job at True Detective magazine, touching up photographs of corpses to remove the blood before they were put into stories, "A lot of those corpses were more interesting the way they were."

The exhibit is by Rory Torrance (rory Torrance), and will be up until after Halloween.
