New Babbage Burning Barrel Race

 

Last month, the Steampunk Community of New Babbage held it's Burning Barrel Race. Taking place on Guy Fawkes Day, this event allowed participants to play with fire as about a dozen people rolled the flaming round wooden containers down the streets. The Newser was there, and took a few pictures.

Announcement: New Babbage Burning Barrel Race

 

Mark your calendars, Saturday 5th November is the Burning Barrel Race. 

Starting at 1pm slt at Academy of Industry the Torch Lighting Parade will commence lighting the Race Route. At around 1:30pm slt the race will start from Canal District. 

Following the Race, Bonfire and Fireworks at around 2pm slt, there will be an hour of music for a post race dance and drinking.
