The Buddha Garden

 

It's August, and things in Second Life are slowing down some after the SL Birthday and Summer Burn. So Gemma Cleanslate was looking for a place that was relaxing. She came across the Buddha Garden. This area has many places to relax from beaches to waterfalls to a dining area, and of course temples.

Nirvana Island

Becky "Sha" Shamen's explorations took a slightly different path recently. Looking for a place for relaxation and tranquility, she came across Nirvana Island. Located in New Paris, the place offers spots for meditation and relaxation. But there's more, such as homes for newcomers, a nightclub, and discussions and other events every day.

The Forest

Becky recently wrote about a popular meditation spot. Today, she writes about another with less traffic, "The Forest." Here, one can explore around, as well as meditate, and a few other things. But for Becky, the sim has a history and a story, one that became part of her own in Second Life.

Among the more popular places to meditate in Second Life is Tempura Island. Having recently celebrated it's fifth anniversary, the location continues to attract many visitors and regulars. Becky "Sha" Shamen is among those who considers the place among their favorite locations, and writes about what to expect when going there, as well as a few reasons why she keeps going back.

Commonalities LEA6

Gemma Cleanslate went to a new art exhibit in the Linden Endowment of the Arts sims. Made by artist Secret Rage, Gemma found the place ideal to pause and reflect. The artist also had a certain message about her beliefs.

Second Life isn't the first place one usually thinks of when it comes to looking for meditation and spiritual guidance. But there are places here where one can find people to help. Grease Coakes reports on a place holding classes on Brhama Yoga, where Guru Pramiil Magne teaches.

Gemma Cleanslate takes a look at the quieter, more meditative side of Second Life with a trip to the Pure Land Buddhist Practice. At the location, she read a few things about the religion, and found out about a few other locations built around the belief.
