Press Release: 2nd Annual Relay For Life Farshore Field Air Show Fly-in
It’s time again for the Sunbeamers to present the Annual Farshore Field Air show and Fly-in. On April 18th this Saturday the showing will start at 8AM SLT and will run till 5PM SLT. Then the field will be close to flight operations because this year we have a twist! Starting at 6PM SLT and going till 8PM There will be a live performance by the Country Rebels a Garth Brooks Tribute band! There will be planes of World War II on display with information about them. Steampunk airships, experimental, modern and odd-ball. Some pilots will be on hand to give rides and flight demonstrations or you can just BYOAP [Bring Your Own AirPlane].
Once you’re tired of craning your head up lower your sights and take shots at each other by taking turns dunking your partner in a nice cool dunk tank. That is after you fire a German 88mm shell into its target!! For a small donation of course, but how often do you get to shoot such an historical gun? The air show officials and Sunbeamer team are not responsible for any “misses” that hit someone.

Live Concert at Ragland Shire
On Sunday April 12 from Noon SL time to about 2 PM, there was a live music event at the Raglan Shire tiny community. A mix of local tinies, human avatars, and others were at the concert stage.
Russell Eponyn normally sports a human look, but for his hosts he went ahead and "tinied up." While short in stature, the locals were certainly big in enthusiasm.
There was plenty of fun to be had, especially with the tinies who could go a bit over the top with their antics. Near the end of the event, several got on stage while in the audience several did their characteristic "Riverdance."
Raglan has events going on most every day, which one can find in their event callendar: http://raglanshire.com/events/ . Next month in May is their Artwalk, which draws people from across Second Life. In August is their "Wootstock" celebration. Between the two, there may be pirate and pool events.

Raglan Shire to Close InWorldz Location
When other grids besides Second Life were opening, some from Second Life gave them a look. Others did more, expanding from the larger virtual world to make a presence there. Among them was the noted Tiny community from Raglan Shire, making it's own sim there. Five years later, it's founder Zayn Till has come to the decision that it's time to close down. So what were the reasons given for the close?

LEA2 : The History of the Vehicle
With residents being able to teleport and fly around, some might not see vehicles in Second Life as being of much use. Others can't do without their mechanical workhorses. However you see them, vehicles have been in Second Life since it's start, and have had quite a history. Sapphire Hotaling has a series of exhibits in LEA2, titled "The History of Vehicles in Second Life." Gemma Cleanslate went over to take a look.

Press Release: Relaystock 2015
Once again The Relay Rockers invite everyone to join them on May 23 & 24th at Relay dAlliez, for RelayStock 2015, a multi team Relay For Life of Second Life event.
The
event will feature 'Team Sites' around a 60s style festival stage.
Teams are invited to bring Kiosks and Vendors, host 2 hour DJ segments
on the stage and participate in one the most popular events of each
relay year, the Final Round of the Relay Rocker's Celebrate Remember
Fight Back Top DJ Competition. The Rockers anticipate room for about 60
teams this season, so don't wait to reserve a spot!
"The
Relay Rockers have been fortunate to have participants from many teams
in our CRFB Event" said Rockers Co-Founder Trader Whiplash. "RelayStock
is our way of saying thank you for the huge support across the grid for
the competition. It affords every team the opportunity to share in a
super fund raising event. This is just another example of the One Team
concept in Relay. It doesn’t matter whose kiosk or vendor the donations
land in, after all we are all on the same team in the end." Trader
noted that in 2014, the original RelayStock event raised more than L$
1.5 million and more than 50 teams participated.
The
event will be held at Relay dAlliez. Relay dAlliez is dedicated to the
memory of Alliez Mysterio, who with Nuala Maracas and Trader Whiplash,
helped found the Relay Rockers team in 2005. Alliez was lost to breast
cancer in 2013. The sim was first made available in 2014 to any team to
hold Relay For Life events. There are still several prime weekend dates
open. Team representatives can visit the Relay dAlliez InfoHub for
more information and to submit a reservation request.

Press Release: Second Annual Knowledge Mobilisation Forum
KNOWLEDGE MOBILISATION FORUM - Second Life ConferenceSAVE THE DATE: April 13th and 14th 2015 - HealthLands Island and in Edinburgh, Scotland (Free to attend in SL)
http://tinyurl.com/ukkmbf15
AT THIS SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/HealthLands/102/138/129
Note: This conference will have interactive breakout sessions in RL and SL with feedback into the main conference. Checkout the website for full conference details.
Following on from the success of last year’s event, the 2nd Annual Knowledge Mobilisation Forum is being held on 13th-14th April 2015 at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
The more effectively we use the knowledge we produce through research and practice the better our services, processes and products will be. The Knowledge Mobilisation Forum provides a space for knowledge producers, knowledge brokers and knowledge users to come together to learn from each other, sharing good (and bad) practice about improving what we do and help maximise the impact of all types of knowledge in practice.
Who should attend?
If you're a teacher, healthcare practitioner, energy supplier, lecturer, director, funder or policy-maker - or anything else - you are welcome. We are looking for people who are passionate about finding better ways of mobilising, exchanging, utilising or transferring knowledge, evidence, research or ideas in any sector. You might be working in a knowledge brokering role, researching evidence into practice or perhaps you're a practitioner of any kind who wants to find ways of identifying and delivering best practice. Most importantly, you're not interested in more talk. You want to make a difference by working with colleagues from different sectors.
