Christmas Giving Tree and Sponsor an SL Child for the Holidays

The holiday season is almost over. But before we close the door on it,  Alura Denver (Alura Messing) was researching and interviewing about a Christmas event aimed at Second Life child avatars. For those whose inworld families are unavailable due to being out of town or otherwise wrapped up in real life, the Grid can be a lonely place for SL kids during the Holidays. So the owner of the Sweet Tots store got together with Crystalle Qork and came up with the first annual "Giving Tree and Sponsor an SL Child" event.

A Gacha Garden for Littles

Gachas can be a lot of fun. And by all means it's not just full-sized avatars that enjoy them. Those who prefer child avatars like them just as much, unless they have a lot of items they can't use such as clothes too big to fit them. Fortunately for them, there's the Little Diva Gacha Garden. This is a gacha designed with child avies in mind, and have some items the grown-ups can use as well. Alura Denver took a look to see what was available.

Missing Items, Missing Lindens

For over a week now Second Life has been having an issue with Marketplace.  Today they posted a similar update to previous alerts, saying "we are still actively investigating".  They are however, only reporting that there "is an issue causing no-copy items to become unlisted".  What is not being shared however, is that the transaction will still be processed taking your lindens and not giving you any merchandise.  Additionally, Marketplace will have no record of the transaction ever happening.  You will only be able to find the transaction in your account transactions on the main Second Life Web page.  Residents have also reported that these transactions come out multiple times, taking money each time.

Should you find yourself the unlucky person that this happens to before it is resolved, you can submit a support ticket at https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new  be sure to include as much information as possible.  Remember it can take Linden Labs up to a week to process tickets.  If you want to know more about the status of this issue you can check the grid status and issues at https://status.secondlifegrid.net/ for any updates that have been posted.

Reader Submitted: Mourning in Second Life

We enjoy being with friends and family. But unfortunately, accidents and illnesses can happen, and eventually there comes a day for each of us when we pass away. In real life, there are obituaries announcing the person's death, funerals to go to, and usually a lasting place for the deceased. Online however, often the only sign something is wrong is our friend suddenly stops coming on. And if we do get word, what is to be done? For those in Second Life in which people are free to build what they want to on their lands, there are those who chose to make places to honor those lost. Alura Messing recently sent a reader submission on the subject, describing her personal experience, and three places in Second Life where those whom have departed have a place where their names remain.
