Cartoon of the Day: Why Doesn't Santa Use a GPS?

 

 

 For who-knows how long, Santa's magical way of getting around the world on Christmas has seemingly unchanged. But one can think of one other reason he would rely on magic instead of modern technology.

House of Avro and Santa Town

Gemma Cleanslate has been continuing her exploration of Christmas-themed places. Among those she came across are the House of Avro and Santa Town. Both places are well decorated for the season, and at Avro you can shop for many of them, as well as activities such as skating. At Santa Town, you can pick up some gifts for friends, have fun in the game room, or take a tour on the sleigh.

North Pole Village

With only ten days left until the big day, Gemma Cleanslate's exploration of Christmas-themed places took her to a place that kids will think of when the holiday comes to mind: North Pole Village. Gemma looked around, seeing where the cookies and toys are made, the elves dormitory, and a peek at the jolly old elf himself.

Announcement: Letter to Santa Contest at Trotsdale

The Library is running a writing competition again finally. This time you can thank Milo as the idea to write letters to Santa was his, and he has generously donated a sizable prize to start the prize pool. Details and instructions are in the attached card. It is open to everyone so feel free to pass a copy to your friends.

Uh oh! Christmas is coming, that goose is looking pretty tasty, there are lights and things going up, undercover elves spying on us all a lot more noticably and not even in stealth mode anymore. It must be time to write that letter to Santa!

RULES

1) There is ONE prize. Send in the best letter and you take home the prize.
2) The rating is G. G-rated content only.
3) Notecards must have both your SL LEGACY NAME and your CHOSEN PEN NAME. Display names change too often, legacy names stay.
4) All submissions must be set on full perm notecards and placed in the scroll case drop box on the library table.
5) Copies of this rule card can be picked up from the inkwell in the library table if needed.
6) These entries will be archived on the library forum. They will also be read in a video placed on Youtube for the library's audio archiving. This is why if you don't want your SL Legacy name out there it is important to have a pen name chosen.

JUDGES
Amehana Ishtari and Milo (decitrex) are the judges. If a tiebreaker is needed they will enlist a third judge that is not competing.

PRIZE
The contest prize pool currently is 1,038$L started off with the first donation being ponied up by Milo (decitrex). It may increase depending on any donations received (please send those to Hanaarashi Resident, who is the contest bank account/alt of Amehana Ishtari) or through the pile of books on the library table.

In the second part of Mylie Foxclaw's Christmas tale, she is continuing to search for the missing Santa Claus. Finding little sign of his whereabouts, she decides a change of tactics is in order to learn more. Eventually, she gets a lucky break.

Santa Claus Is Missing: Part One

Urged on by an elf and reindeer, she travels to the North Pole to see if there might be some clues to what might have happened to the big guy.

Gemma Cleanslate's travels to Christmas-themed locations took her to a place just about every kid who's heard of Santa Claus dreams of going: the North Pole. Gemma looked around, seeing the reindeer stalls, Santa's workshop, Santa's office, Mrs. Claus' kitchen, and more. And of course there were Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves.

More Winter Fun

Winter has come to Second Life, and a number of regions are showing it, with both winter activities and Christmas-themed fun. Gemma Cleanslate has been dashing about the Grid, braving the cold to see where one can find them. Her latest story shows a few places where one can have so much fun, you don't mind a little snow and ice.

Winter Ice Rock Festival at Palma

Winter is officially still a month away. But some places in Second Life have already gotten their snowfall. One of them is Palma, which was renovated for what its owners call it's Winter Ice Rock Festival. Gemma Cleanslate was told about the place, and went over to see the scenic place.
