Eye On The Blog: "Celebrating Hello Kitty’s 45th Birthday"



Women, especially young women, are probably familiar with "Hello Kitty." This "staple of the kawaii segment of Japanese popular culture" came to America shortly after her creation in 1974 and according to Wikipedia has become the second largest media franchise in terms of money made, second only to Pokemon. A few days ago, the official blog pointed out a sim and event done for the character's forty-fifth anniversary.





Second Life creator Astralia has been working hard to bring a celebration that embodies the joy and excitement of a character who has brought delight to millions of people many times over. This official Sanrio event features an interactive immersive game as well as rides, food, entertainment, and adventures that are absolutely purr-fect.

There was also a special "Lab Gab" show, the first time the live program has been on a day other then Wednesday, taking place yesterday on Monday November 4 at 10AM SL time. Here, Strawberry and Xiola Linden interviewed Astralia, whom has been in Second Life since 2011, taking interest in the virtual world as a family member was playing. She would take Xiola and Strawbery out of a tour of the place.

The Hello Kitty tribute has a village with a cart race, a maze and Ferris wheel, a store, and event area, and more It will be up until November15.
