DJ Shockwave At The "Battle of The DJs" By RFL Sugar Skols

 

Sunday evening was one of the first events of the Relay season, the "Battle of The DJs," hosted by team Sugar Skols in the Bohemian Rhapsody sim. The event was well-attended by a good crowd.

Among those taking part was DJ Shockwave (Shockwave Yareach) of the Sunbeamers. The event host, Rafe Odinson (Rafe Grumpypants) would say, "This is Shockwaves second battle with us and we are honored to have the Sunbeamers on our stage again this year! ... I am so happy Shockwave agreed to battle with us again this year!!!! He was at the top of my list!" Speaking on his stream before playing his music, he would say he was DJ at the event "because I am sick of friends of mine dying." But he soon returned to his more jovial self by playing songs such as "Code Monkey." Someone would comment, "This had shock written all over it - hahaha!"

 

Rafe also pledged to match every Linden donated, "Every single linden you spend tonight WILL BE MATCHED!!! How does that work? Well, Nae and I will be matching every total at the end of the night to the home team of that DJ! Tonight that means The Sugar Skols, Sunbeamers, Hope Floaters and yes we will be donating to Belle Ame in Sal's honor as well!"

 

Shockwave would get third place, and his total alone was over 50,000 Lindens.

We the Sugar Skols RFL Team want to welcome you to the epic battle on Sunday, February 16TH at 4pm SLT. This year The Sugar Skols have an entire RFL sim with an open track available to ride all season, a growing powerhouse team, and many, many events. And it all starts with YOU!!! Welcome to our kick off!!

The Winner of the Battle will be decided at the conclusion of the event. How do we determine the winner? Well, this is a charity event. It is decided by the DJs kiosk’s donations. There will be trophies awarded (and they are very cool in our opinion) and the DJs will also become part of the Skols Hall Of Fame!!

One final note you should be aware of.... we are so proud to announce 100% of donations raised at the battle will be matched at the end of the night. This means EVERY linden you donate will be DOUBLED making your impact on fighting for this cause that much greater!

DJ Competition For Relay For Life

 

On Sunday February 18, there was a DJ competition hosted by Relay for Life's Team Sugar Skols. the event took place Sunday afternoon and early evening, starting at 4PM SL time.

 The Sugar Skols RFL season kicks off on Sunday, February 18th at 4SLT with an EPIC DJ Battle to raise money for the ACS! Please join us to support the battle cries of our incredible DJs as they face off head to head with surprise theme and twist to kick off the season in style and raise money to kick cancer’s ass! Every warrior goes to Valhalla! Skol! 

Among the several DJs were two from Team Sunweavers, DJ Snowbuns and DJ Shockwave. While most competitions had the performers playing one hour at a time, in this one they would play two or three tunes, then another DJ would. Each was on a small stage with a kiosk next to it, with fans sending money to them. The winner was the one who raised the most.

DJ Snowbuns would later tell me she won second place at the DJ battle. She had gotten a trophy for her efforts.
