Miyuki Naidoo pointed out this scene at Mainframe. While some residents collect Linden and Mole bears, a Zac UwU put his up for all to see. He had a total of eighteen, of various sizes.

Reader Submitted: The Relevance of Statues

All the current news about statues in the real world reminded me of a rather unprepossessing statue in Second Life that celebrates a huge step forward in the virtual world.

Back in 2006, working in the dark dangerous prim mines which honeycomb Heterocera,  a mole, sadly their name seems not to have been recorded, made a remarkable discovery as detailed for posterity on the plaque.

"This statue commemorates the discovery of sculpted prims in '06. Found in the prim mines of Heterocera, sculpted prims were immediately recognized as a new category of prim that would change the face of Second Life forever. This statue is dedicated to the brave Moles who delved into the pixelated crust of Heterocera Atoll in order to bring forth these valuable prims."

If you want to combine a bit of extra  fun with your visit, there is a friendly mole  which allows you to rez a 4x4  and close by an Air Balloon rezzer.

The Oldbie Project: Caliandris Pendragon

Today, DrFran Babcock continues her Oldbie Project with a new article. Her latest interview was with Caliandris Pendragon. Having been in Second Life for over nine years, Caliandris has seen and done a lot, including a position as one of the Department of Public Worlds moles. Some residents might also remember her for being one of those interviewed by the online magazine "TheVerge" when they wrote about Second Life. She talked with DrFran about her Second Life journey began, some misadventures, and other things about life on the Grid.

Bay City Mole Day 2013

Saturday February 2 might have been Groundhog Day to most, but in Bay City it was Mole Day. The Moles in Second Life are the fixers who help the Mainland with stability, and Bay City set a day aside to honor them. DrFran Babcock was there to check out the event and festivities.

Yes it’s nearly that time of year again when we look for furry little Mole shadows. Do you have your shadows on? This year’s event will again take place at the Bay City Fairgrounds February 2nd at 1-4PM SLT. The annual - honor our favorite furry creatures- party will feature a stellar line up, with DJ GoSpeed Racer at 1PM SLT, longtime Bay City favorite;  Christov Kohnke at 2PM, and the famed Choo Choo Chicks band singing and playing  some get up and dance tunes from 3-4PM SLT. We look forward to sharing fun with friends old and new at the bandshell in North Channel, as ALL are invited to this family friendly FREE event!

Yep, that's Michael Linden. Normally, companies fear moles. But this little guy didn't give anyone a reason to worry. He happily danced along with everyone else at the birthday party at the cake auditorium yesterday, June 23, just after Noon SL time.
