Thanksgiving at Antiquity

Some places on Thanksgiving weekend were less active. Not so the Antiquity community of which Prince Jacon and Duke Levi invited everyone to drop over his palace for thanksgiving, both locals and friends of the community. It took place on Saturday November 29 at Noon SL time.

Crown Prince Jacon and Grand Duke Levi  are pleased to invite you to join them a for Thanksgiving dinner. This gathering is a time to share gratitude, enjoy a festive meal, and celebrate the bonds of community. Your presence will make the occasion all the more meaningful as we come together in fellowship and tradition.

The event was well attended, and while the community standard was 19th century fashion, other outfits were acceptable. Besides the humans and a furry or two, there were a number of tinies and a taur.

There was much chatter about goings on, how various people were doing, real-life dinners, a few comments about tiny and human-sized foxes by the tinies, and other things.

And everybody kept their hands off the cake until later into the dinner.

Mieville's Community Thanksgiving Dinner

On Wednesday November 17, the Mieville community held it's Thanksgiving Community Dinner. While aimed at the community, it was open to all. So I sent my alt RezzDammit over. The setting was arranged by Farzaneh Eel, Unalunaqat and BellaBorneBradley.

I arrived a bit late, but there were still some people over. So I got a few pictures. I few more can be seen in Mieville's Flickr page

Happy Thanksgiving,

Many readers are likely familiar with "Animal Crossing," an open-ended game by Nintendo that's gotten several sequels over the years. Recently the Newser found out about a place in Second Life that's modeled off it: Retroville. So how did Retroville come about and what can one do there?

Ari's Piano Recital

It was almost a year ago in which Deaflegacy wrote about her favorite piano player: Arisia Vita, or just Ari as he prefers to be known. He is still playing piano music around places. Deaf was recently at his weekly recital in Perfect Paradise, which has drawn a regular audience.

Spontaneous Gatherings

You've just heard about a new and great place in the destination guide, and log in with every intention of giving it a visit. But logging in at your place, you notice a small gathering at your neighbors place, and you recognize most if not all of the names. So you put off your trip and see what your neighbors are up to. Later on, you see someone on your contact list you haven't seen in weeks or months, invite them over to chat. The person comes over with a friend, and before long a couple neighbors contact you and ask about dropping by. So with such a big virtual world do people like go gather in groups to party at a club instead of listening to a stream at home, or just getting together to "shoot the breeze" with friends? Becky "Sha" Shamen had a few thoughts on the matter.
