Some Christmas Events in Second Life

 Christmas is a time in Second Life with a lot happening. In the days before and the day after, there were plenty of events going on. Various groups, clubs, and individuals had parties and other goings-on. From the Sunweavers to Caledon to the mainland and other places, Bixyl Shuftan found a number of happenings, and took a few pictures.

Christmas at Devon Dream

 

There's a number of Christmas displays across Second Life, some large, some small. One I see every year is in Devon Dream, made by Safra Nitely. After most of the job was done, Safra invited me to take a look around. While she had been building for less than a day, already plenty had been done.

Devon Dream and Caledon Downs

There's a lot of Christmasy places to see in Second Life. With just one more day to go until the holiday, the Newser has two more to show. At Devon Dream, one can ride teacup bumper cars and see an aurora. At Caledon Downs, one can take a train to Santa's secret base. Plus not far to the north is something fans of winter sports should love.

Safra Nitely and Darkwing Village

Safra Nitely has gotten attention for her Christmas Village every year, and in the past for her Relay team "Ministry of Dance." But what she's been active the most with is her village in the sky high above Devon Dream for her closest friends and virtual family, "Darkwing." Well decorated, the buildings look like they're from the pages of a book of a magical fantasy land. The walkways connect the buildings, in addition to leading to the stables and playground areas down below. She holds occasional events at a small club. One Halloween party I went to, Safra had gone all-out with spooky trees, fog, and other decorations.

But Safra isn't quite satisfied with the area, fancy as it is. She messaged me to remind me she keeps looking to see how things can be improved. In this case, the walkway railings, looking to see what could look still better.

Much of the place is open to the public, the club being at Devon Dream (207/31/3992). it should be noted that some of the village is reserved just for friends and family, so if a place has a sign mentioning that, please respect it. Also, Safra wants her friends and SL family to have fun, so some of the village does have adult overtones.

Winter at Devon Dream

Safra Nitely, a friend of the SL Newser, recently invited me to drop by her sim of Devon Dream. She had been giving the ground area a Winter wonderland look for her friends and anyone else who wanted to come and see. Besides looking pretty, the place has interactive rides, a dance area for parties, and a few merchant stalls Safra is offering for free to anyone interested.

Announcement: Halloween Party At Devon Dream

Safra Nitely,  a friend of the Newser, will be having her annual Halloween bash at Devon Dream. Although intended for her Darkwing group and their friends, the event is open to any whom want to drop by.

For many years now I have DJ'd a HALLOWEEN PARTY at Devon. This year, I will uphold tradition and DJ once more:
When -  TUESDAY 31st OCTOBER
TIME: 12pm SLT onwards to 2 or 3pm
COMPETITION with 1000$L PRIZE - Best in SCARY
Competition opens at 12pm and voting at 1:30 Winner at 2pm SLT

It should be noted the location is rated adult, so some guests may be scantily dressed.

Valentines Day Events Around Second Life

Valentines Day is  good occasion for a party. And this week across Second Life there were a number of them either named as such or had similar themed such as formal dances. The Newser was there to get pictures of a few.

Christmas at Devon Dream

The Newser has covered a number of places given a winter look for Christmas. Among them is Devon Dream, owned by Safra Nitely. Bixyl Shuftan took a look around, and found a number of sights and a few activities.

Safra Nitely's Christmas Party

On December 11, Safra Nitely, a friend of the SL Newser, held a small Christmas party for some of her Second Life friends and family. She also wanted to celebrate her sim, Devon Dream, having it's prim capacity expanded to 30,000 prims.

Safra has been decorating her sim for a festive Christmas look, which she has been doing every year. No doubt the place is full of holiday cheer.

A fun time was had by all at the party.

Halloween Celebrations in Second Life

There isn't another holiday quite like Halloween. While Second Life more or less allows one to look like what they want to, this spooky fun time allows it's residents to take on a look they normally wouldn't. Bixyl Shuftan was at a number of Halloween events, many in his home community of the Sunweaver/Angels, and took a number of pictures.

DJ Pilot's Saturday Riot

Safra Nightly, whom hosts a weekly event by DJ pilot in her sim's dance area contacted me and told me the day of the event had been changed from Sunday to Saturday. So it will know be known as "DJ Pilot's Saturday Riot." The party takes place at 6AM SL time every Saturday.

Halloween Party at Devon Dream This Monday

On Monday October 31st, Safra Nightly will be hosting a Halloween party at her Devon Sky Club. She will be DJing the tunes. The party is open to all, both her SL friends and family and guests to the sim, and there is a 1000 Linden prize for the best Halloween look. The fun starts at 1PM

Christmas Displays at Devon Dream

Saffra Nitely recently invited Bixyl Shuftan to her Devon Dream sim. There, the sim was given a picturesque Christmas winter look, with numerous decorations and builds, and at least one ride. She also held a party for her friends, which provided everyone there with plenty of Christmas cheer.
