5pm: Born to be Wild! (Dress in your leathers and sweat a few laps out)

6pm: Wild Thing...You make my heart sing! (Dress in your favorite sports gear)

7pm: Pride Parade on the track! (Show off your pride with all the colors of the rainbow)

8pm: The Lion Sleeps Tonight! (Let's party - jungle style)

9pm: LUMINARIA CEREMONY

10pm: Explorer Hour! (Check out the many campsites w/ your safari gear, miners hats, etc.)

11pm: Under the Sea! (Baby shark...nemo...stingray?)

12am: The Tribe Has Spoken (Find your buffs and torches, shipwrecked on a beach)

1am: Mount Up! (Use this hour to ride around the track on your mounts, but please be courteous)

2am: Let me be your Teddy Bearrrr! (Take those pets out for a walk)

3am: Luau in the Jungle! (Find those grass skirts and hawaiian shirts)

4am: Dina Expedition! (Dress as dinosaurs, but don't go extinct)

5am: Breakfast Hour! (get the coffee, eggs, and donuts ready)

6am: Fight Back (Renew your commitment to keep fighting cancer)

7am: Dance Party! (Put your dances on and shake your moneymaker around the track)

8am: Purple Power! (Let's see the purple pride)

9am: Show your ACS Pride (ACS shirts from any year)

10am: CLOSING CEREMONY

11am: Turtle Power! (Get your turtle, rabbit, cheetah look on, and let's walk a final lap together)

 

"Unscheduled Maintenance" Offlines Second Life For Hours

 

If you tried to log into Second Life yesterday and couldn't get on, you were far from alone. For much of the day, residents couldn't log in, or access secondlife.com, or the Marketplace. The Grid Status Report first mentioned there was a problem at 11:14 AM SL time. 

We are currently seeing intermittent issues with Profiles, Marketplace, and Log ins, and we are currently investigating this. Please watch this blog for updates.

Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved quickly. Hours would pass, and the Lab's finest were still working on the issue.

We are still working on resolving this, and we thank you for your patience! Please watch this blog for updates. 

Finally at 3:57 PM SL time, the Lab stated they were on their way to fixing the problem.

All services should be recovered, and we continue to monitor their performance. If you're having trouble getting to some of the websites, please try clearing your cookies. Thank you for your patience, and we hope the rest of today is going to be all smooth sailing. 

Still, it wouldn't be 5:54 PM SL time before the Lab would say with confidence, "This incident has been resolved," over six hours since they announced their was a problem. When residents tried to get on the website, sometimes all they got was a blank page. At other times they would get the "Uh oh, it's buggy" 500 error message shown at the top. A few residents would look back to earlier times when Linden Lab was more willing to poke fun at itself and post a picture of apes armed with bones gathering around a monolith, "The grid is down while we bang on things." A few more irritated residents wondered if the glitch was a result of the Cloud Servers, and something they could expect time to time for the forseable future. 

In any event, the glitch has been fixed, and all is well again, for now.

The themes are brought to the track to be fun and entertaining, not required, but it's always fun to see all the variety on the track.  Here is a list of this year's themes and we hope you enjoy getting those outfits ready!

Opening Ceremonies.  Please join us at the Ceremonies Stage as we begin the 24 hour relay with the Opening Ceremonies.

11 AM - 12:30pm                                
CELEBRATE  - Survivors and Caregivers
The 1st lap of the 2018 Relay weekend!  Make your way to the side of the track and applaud our heroes during the SURVIVORS & CAREGIVERS honor time. Only survivors & caregivers walk the track during this time.

12.30pm - 2 PM                 
WE ARE FAMILY ~ TEAMS LAP
This is the moment you’ve been waiting for, teams. Grab your team banner and / or flags and get on that track & walk with pride for all you have done in working towards FINISHING the FIGHT against cancer. We are ONE big, awesome team UNITED FOR RELAY!

FAVORITE DECADE
It's time for some DANCE YOUR DECADE!!   What is your favorite musical decade?  50's, 60's, 70's 80, 90's or maybe country? Dress in your favorite decade or genre of music and dance on down the track.

SUN AND FUN IN MARGARITAVILLE
It's summer, let's have some fun!  Dance and party down the track in your coolest summer outfit.  Don't forget to Slip, Slop, Slap and Wrap to protect yourself from the damaging UV rays!

4PM  
PIRATES OF THE CUREABEEAN
Arrrghhh Maties!  Shiver me timbers, tis time to take to the high seas.  Swashbuckler? Captain Kidd? 1st Mate? Don ye best pirate outfit and all hands hoay on the track.

5PM   
CRAZY HATS AND HAIR! 
Let's cover our heads to protect ourselves from the sun and get some giggles with the craziest hats and / or hair you can find ! Why not! It's Second Life! 

6PM  
CIRCUS TIME
Come one, come all to the biggest show on earth!  The RFL Circus! Watch for clowns, ring masters, bearded ladies, mimes, the strongman, fortune tellers, tightrope walkers!

7PM  
TRICK OR TREAT / MONSTER MASH
Join us on the track for a spook-tacular hour.  What is your favorite spooky Halloween costume?

8PM 
GLOW IN THE DARK 
Evening is upon us, help us light the track.  A single hand-held candlestick, a gaudy candelabra, a pair of sparklers, a glow stick, a flashlight, let's light the way as we walk.  Be sure to light the luminaria bags along the track as you walk.

9PM  
REMEMBER    The Luminaria Ceremony
Please plan to walk or line the track, in silence. We remember those who we’ve lost to cancer. We reflect on the friends, families and loved ones we Relay for.

10 PM 
PROM NIGHT
Ahhh..High School Prom night... how could we ever forget!  (or maybe you want to but mom had that darn Polaroid  camera).  Don your Prom outfit and sashay down the track.

11 PM   
SCI FI / FANTASY
Fantasy Characters, Dragons, Pirates, Star Trek, Fairies, Elves...  Fantasy themed avatars, Medieval, Tinies, Mermaids & Mermen, Wings

MIDNIGHT  
MASQUERADE
Wear a Masque and costume and join the Carnival like festivity hour.

1 AM   
PAJAMA PARTY
A special PJ Party. Wear your jammies, carry your pillow and blankets and dance down the track to stay awake.  Bananas in Pajamas!

2 AM 
ANIMALS! FROM HORSES TO UNICORNS!
Ride a horse. Ride an elephant (you bring the super duper pooper scooper for that one). Be an Ostrich, ride an Ostrich.  Be, Ride, Walk or Carry your favorite Animal.

3 AM  
OCCUPATIONAL HEROES
We all have those we consider brave heroes…who is yours?  Police Officer, Fireman, FBI Agent, Paramedic, Soldiers to name a few.  We call them heroes, they say they are "just doing my job". Who is your Occupational Hero? 

4 AM  
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
....the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. What is over your rainbow? Toto, Dorothy, Aunti Em? Maybe it is the dream you dare to dream.

5 AM  
SUPER HEROES
We all have those great super heroes …who is yours? Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman,. Maybe it is your mom or dad, your 4th grade teacher, or the doctor down the street.  Show us who is your Everyday or Super Hero!

6 AM
FIGHT BACK -   The FIGHT BACK CEREMONY
Pick up your Fight Back kit at any Info station along the track!  Walk the track or join us at the ceremony stage! Make your personal Fight Back pledge of what you will do to fight cancer in the upcoming year and future.  The life you save from this pledge, may just be your own!

7 AM  
COFFEE, CURLERS AND CAKE -
Wake Up Relayers! Morning has arrived !  Wear a tea pot, a coffee maker, coffee cups.. Wear pj's, slippers, curlers. It's time to wake up and keep going on the track just a little bit longer!

8 AM
MAKE A NEW FRIEND
We all can use friends. Introduce yourself to someone you do not know and walk the track with them. Who knows, you may meet a new best friend !

9 AM  
NATION'S COLORS
Relay For Life is internationally held in more than 26 countries around the world! Our virtual relay is truly an International Relay. Wear something that reflects your Nation's Colors or one of those 26 countries. Maybe carry your nation's flag or an international flag from one of the countries.


10 AM
CLOSING CEREMONIES   
Please join us at the Ceremonies Stage for the closing ceremonies.

11 AM   
VICTORY LAP
Please return to the track and take YOUR VICTORY LAP!!  One last time around the track! Look for the Committee Members along the side of the track cheering for you and all you have accomplished in support of the American Cancer Society!  Look for the Fireworks!   Celebrate YOUR Relay !!

THE PURPLE GLOVE DANCE -
Put on your purple gloves, wave your hands, dance and party on the track!  Stop at the Purple Give Picture areas, snap a picture, post it to your facebook, tweet it out #, upload it to flicker, send to your friends.

6PM  
ACCIDENTAL TOURIST- 
Put on your tacky shorts and shirts, sun visors, socks and sandals. Strap on that camera. Slip on the backpack.  It's time to be a tacky tourist.

FANTASY HOUR-
Elves, Fairies, Fae's, Knights, Dragons, Princesses, LOTR, Harry Potter, Wizards, Wings,Angels...an all encompassing Fantasy Hour....what is your mythical fantasy?

Let's head to the water and have some fun!  Don't foget to Slip, Slop, Slap & Wrap to protect yourself from the damaging UV rays!  Or maybe you are a mermaid, a fish out of water, or Neptune himself.

3 AM  
HOPPY BALL BOUNCE
Bouncy, Bouncy. Let's grab those bouncy balls and bounce on down the track. Try not to hop over anyone!

4 AM  
INTERNATIONAL HOUR
