RFL: The Leadership Team

The Relayers in Second Life are a large number, hundreds of them. Most are in teams, but there are some taking the lead in trying to direct things, get the word out, or just telling people 'good job."

CDS News: Lyubov (20180414 Resident) Fills In Empty RA Seat

In the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, it was late last month that there was a vacancy in one of the seats of the Representative Assembly due to the resignation of Bagheera Kristan. So the CDS began preparations for a special election this month. But not unlike what happened in the regular elections in spring, only one person, Lyuboy, offered to become a candidate. So he was given the position by default.

Deadline to declare as Candidate to fill the vacant seat was midnight SLT Monday Sept. 3th. We had Lyubov (20180414 Resident) as the only candidate who declared. Thank you for standing Lyubov and welcome as new RA member.

The next regularly scheduled elections for the CDS are later this year.

CDS To Hold Election To Fill Empty RA Seat

One of the members of the Representative Assembly of the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, Bagheera Kristan, has resigned from his office. Lilith Ivory, the Dean of the Scientific Council, announced there will be special elections to see who will take his seat.

"To be eligible to stand for by-election you must be on the Citizen List revised on August 4th, which can be found here:
http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8581. Your declaration of candidacy must be given to Lilith Ivory, by inworld notecard: deadline for declarations of candidacy is midnight SLT, Monday September 3th. Your candidacy will be announced inworld and in the SC Announcements Forum. You may choose to announce your candidacy in other locations also, but that is not required."

CDS citizens can declare their intention to run up to Monday Sept. 3. Then nominations are closed and a list of the declared candidates is made available. Campaigning can start on Sept. 10. Polls open on Sept. 17 and close on Sept 24.

"If you are considering to stand for this office, please read the Constitution and Code of Laws."

Change of Leadership at the Passionate Redheads

The Passionate Redheads team for the Relay for Life has recently undergone a change at the top.

Sabine McGettigan, the founder of the Redheads and it's leader for the past several years, has taken a leave of absence from the team's activities for personal reasons. Her former partner Daaneth Kivioq, whom was last seen at the May 4rth Redheads meeting, has taken an "indefinite break" from Second Life. Sabine requested that Dusk Griswold and Lomgren Smalls take her place in leading the Passionate Redheads team.

Despite the loss of their founder's participation, at least for now, the Redheads have continued to raise funds for the Relay, having raised 14,000 at the recent May Day Faire. The team has suffered setbacks before. Last year, Daaneth was temporarily out of action due to a stroke, and later that season a number split off and formed another group. But the group still went on to become one of the best teams that year.

Further Passionate Redhead events are planned, including a "Bid Me Human" event on Friday May 11th.
