Whatever Happened To: The Dahlia Linden Flower Mountain

 

So what happened with the mountain at the New Bloom Mountain sim that had all of those mysterious blue flowers on the top that was the subject of Dahlia Linden's searches and supposed to return to "normality" on March 25? I had a heads up from Zada Bury that there were some changes, so went over. And there were a couple houses on the sides, though the flowers at the top were doing just fine. 

 

So what happens around the 16th? Time will tell.

With everything else happening in Second Life, we almost forgot to check on one thing. Yours truly recalled the strange rocks Dahlia Linden was investigating, and went over to see what changed.

Land Of Sleeping Giants

 

Gemma Cleanslate took a short break from her Christmas store explorations to check out a place done by artist AmandaT Tamatzui: the "Land of Sleeping Giants." Besides some noteworthy scenery, there were also activities. She would also take a moment to hop on over to the Christmas Expo to get a picture of Santa Patch, or try to.

Mount Campion National Park

 

Gemma Cleanslate's exploring of nature places took her to a large area, Mount Campion National Park. The place offers hiking, horseback riding, camping, cabin rentals, on what looks like a forested mountain. Even better, the mountain has caverns that can be explored. Gemma took a look around, and had a lot to write about.

Mount Campion Park

Second Life has a number of parks with detailed scenery. But not many offer mountain trails. Fewer offer caverns to walk in. One offers both: Mount Campion Park. Standing over 300 meters tall, this is one of the tallest places on the Second Life mainland and offers a lot to see from winding caverns and tunnels to trails that go around and up and down the mountainside to detailed scenery. And if you want to stay a while, you can rent a cabin. Yours truly stopped by and had a look around.

Explosion Emminent at Steelhead's St. Helens?

In Steelhead, there have been rumors of mad scientist activity at Mt St. Helens. Rumor has it one of the local madboys plans to crash the birthday party of Tensai Hilra with a volcanic eruption. Sheriff "Fuzzball" Ortega assures nothing will go wrong, and even if it does Tensai's birthday party tonight at 7PM SL time will go on as planned.

The mountain is at the Steelhead St Helens sim (128, 131, 38)

The First Sims: Stanford

DrFran Babcock's travels across the first sims of Second Life takes her to number four: Stanford. There, she comes across an annoyance she hadn't encountered in the previous three: ban lines. But she also comes across some unique places that exist thanks to the ingenuity of the early builders and features later sims lack.

A Mountain, An Agave, and a Gorilla

The Rockcliffe region recently made headlines for hosting Jessica Lyon's recent meeting on Linden Lab's latest move. But more has been going on there. Gemma Cleanslate recently went to Rockcliffe Conservatory for the unveiling of Sledge Roffo’s new exhibition, "A Mountain, An Agave, and a Gorilla." Residents are invited to drop by and view the pictures of Sledge's pixel art, and more.

Seasons of the Witch

Shellie Sands is back with us at Second Life Newser. Upon her return, she presented a tale of a trip to Witch's Forest where there was an art exhibit "Seasons of the Witch." After that, she walked the trail to Witch Mountain, which offered a number of sights along the way.
