Announcement: No RFL Castle Home and Garden This Year, Postponed to 2019

Dear Relayers and CHGers,

We have faced a lot in the last four years. We have raised so much money, that every drop of sweat spent on the Castle Home and Garden contest was 110% worth it. Your builds, your designs and your support has been amazing.

We face several challenges this season, including Henrietta’s passing and Rowena being computer-less and hospital bound for a good amount of time. We are also without a website as Hilshire was owner of it and it poofed (Hilshire passed away as well).

We have been told we can “scale down” the contest a bit along with other suggestions, but we are not going to scale down anything. With that being said, in order for the CHG to be as successful as it deserves to be, the Castle Home and Garden contest will be postponed to the 2019 season. The current sign ups and builds will remain as they are- if you are building, please don’t be discouraged- see this as just more time to perfect your build.

2019 will bring us the 5th annual CHG... bigger and better than ever. Henrietta would kill us if we canceled so it is just a postponement for a little while longer.

Please excuse Rowena’s absence this year. He will be back better than ever ready to go for the Christmas Expo and, of course; the 2019 Relay season- which will bring us the 5th Annual CHG.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Reader Submitted: "Ras vs Dee Linden"

From Grace Aemilia Winstanley (Grace Winstanley). This picture was taken at the "Afternoon with the Lindens" at the RFL Castle Home and Garden contest, in which the Newser caught Dee Linden seemingly on the receiving end of RasberryKiss's (Rasberia Daciana Parthicus) aggression. It seems Dee had a chance to return the favor.

Afternoon With The Lindens at The Castle Home and Garden

The Castle Home and Garden Contest had many fun events. But there wasn't quite anything like the afternoon of July 26 with a number of Lindens showed up. The result was a couple hours of kissing booth and dunk tank action, fun poses, and general jokes and funnery. The Newser was there, and got a number of pictures.

See the screenshots in Events.

The Castle Home and Garden Contest Flikr page can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/3553024@N21/

A video of the closing ceremony is not yet available. But there is a recording: http://chgrfl.org/Sound/2017%20CHG%20Closing%20Ceremony.mp3 .

Instead of a single overall theme for next year, each sim will have it's own, or if they have two levels of builds, one for each level, "The sim themes for next year are: 1) Smurfs 2) Frozen 3) King's Landing 4) Transylvania 5) Naboo 6) Panem 7) Mines of Moria 8) Pandora 9) London 10) Toon Town."

"CONGRATULATIONS! See you  all next year for the 5th. ... Thank you everyone for being a part of this amazing, strange, wonderful, fantastic contest. Here’s to a successful 4th CHG, and a successful 5th!"

Cartoon of the Day

Taken at the "Afternoon With The Lindens" at The Castle Home and Garden. Looks like Tommy Linden is trying out the different positions on the kissing booth. At least it'll save his avatar a trip to the chiropractor.
