Scenes From the SL15B

There's a lot to see and do at the Second Life Birthday.  There's the Auditorium, there's the three stages, there's the dozens of exhibits, and more. Bixyl Shuftan was there to check out some of the places, as well as catch a few goings-on.

Scenes From the SL15B

Catboy Qunhua hosts an SL version of the Match Game at the Auditorium. The event took place at 5PM yesterday, resulting in quite a few chuckles.

Much more took place, but yours truly spent a long time there yesterday, and rest and recharging is needed before I can put more to pen.

Scenes From the SL14B: "Match Game"

On the night of June 20 from 9 to 10PM SL time, Catboy Qunhua held an inworld version of "Match Game" inside the SL14B Cake Stage. Two contestants had to fill in the blanks to phrases given by one of a panel with Tindallia Soothsayer and five others. It was an hour of game show style entertainment that used to be better known in Second Life in the days of "The 1st Question," though one can still find it in places, such as Luskwood's "Primonary."

From the SL12B Auditorium. No, Catboy Qunhua didn't *really* say that.

Pod Accident At Newser Exhibit

A couple days ago, when I was seting up the crew pictures at the Newser's SL12B exhibit, I heard someone shout "Runaway pod!!" Then someone wiped out right on our plot. It was Catboy Qunhua, one of the volunteers.

Fortunately her avatar didn't have any broken bones. Only her pride had a few bruises as she got up and dusted herself off a couple moments after this picture was taken.

As of now, the exhibits are closed for inspection, to be reopened on Friday for minor tweaks and any recommendations by the inspectors.Press Day is Saturday, and finally on Sunday the sims are open to all with the opening of The Birthday.

RFL Camp Reports: Relay Wizards for Spunky Team

For this year's Relay, the team DrFran Babcock was on, "Relay Wizards for Spunky" had a challenge. Their builder had been asked by the committee to do a second project for the Relay, and this meant others in the team would have to step forward to help with the campsite with not a lot of time left to finish. Despite the challenges, team captain Shawna Montgomery and other members  came forward, and the camp was finished in time.

Busy at the SL10B

Taking a breather after having just moved my desk to the SL10B SL Newser exhibit. The team has been hard at work getting everything in place and are determined to finish by the deadline. Today is the final day of building, and tomorrow the sim will be closed to the exhibitors as the plots are inspected.

One of the staff, Catboy Qunhua,  put her words in this little poem.

Get to work you builders you
Or you’ll be sorry, then you’ll be through
As deadline looms, and anxiety brews
The builders rely on their kung fu
To lay down prims for their debut
Of SL10, to great review

Of mighty mesh and tortured sculpties
And twisted prims stretched to sky, Seize
Of our hearts and imaginations
To utopian worlds of compilation
Layed out in plots and neat locations
Which we laid claim by reservation

But first we must steel our propagation
No laggy scripts of provocation
Textures below 512 square are divine
And keep our prims below 269
No vendors please or you will accrue
The brilliant wrath of Pygar Bu

No scanning scripts to look about
And lucky chairs are just right out
No megaprims of great inflation
No tipjars please to solicit donations

To script, to build, to celebrate
Not overload our own baud rate
So to your plots you must lay down
Your best creations of great renown
Before the clock strikes midnight here
And you’ll get the boot right in your rear

So go make haste of your fleeting time
And don’t spend it on the standard whine
“Which midnight do you mean, good sir?”
Which one do you think you %$^&’ing cur?

The SL10B opens this Sunday, June 16th
