SL22B Dragon Eggs Hunt

Besides the Swaginator Hunt at the SL22B, which we wrote about a few days ago, there's another HUD=based hunt: the Dragon Eggs Hunt.

Legends speak of ancient dragon eggs scattered across the celebration lands. Seekers who recover these relics will restore their hidden magic and earn wondrous rewards. Wear the SL22B Forgotten Eggs HUD and begin your quest through the exhibitor regions. Each egg you claim draws you deeper into the tale.

To play the game, get the HUD at one of several locations at the Second Life Birthday grounds, at tge Welcome Area, you can find it at SLB Awesome (123/103/103).

When you pick up the HUD, attach it and it appears on your upper left.

Finding eggs wasn't too difficult. Going down from the welcome area I picked some up right away. You can either walk over the eggs, or get within five feet and click on them.

There are prizes for getting so many eggs. At 20, you can get the Enchanted Book. At 50, you can get a magical ring of mushrooms. At 100, you get the "Will-o’-Wisp of Emberlight," To get the prizes, drop by the reward vendor next to where you can get the HUD.

Happy hunting.

Scenes At The SLB: Pony Play

I had a spare five minutes the other day, so I decided to check out the SL Birthday. I noticed a large group of dots on the map in the exhibit area, so curious I TPed over. Once the red clouds, most of them, cleared away, what I saw was a herd of ponies running around. I noticed something else; they were rolling what looked like a large egg around. The third thing I noticed, there was someone inside.

I'd seen this group of ponies before at the Fantasy Faire running around, and now here they were at the SLB, having found something to roll around.  They went past me, and headed down some road.

As for the lady in the egg, SarahKB7 Koskinen, she's been in the paper a few times, such as wanting to be the first to sail between two newly connected continents

RFL Easter Egg Hunt At The Rivers

In the Stonehaven sim at The Rivers, there's something for those

The River of Life, Relay for Life Team, created a whimsical place to come and hunt Easter Eggs but be careful when finding the eggs there may be a few rotten ones that will ruin all that is in your basket! There is even a Golden Egg and places to take pictures with your SL family. The hunt is open to everyone!

Click on the sign that says "click on for basket" next to the kiosk to get your basket. You can choose one of several colors. While the sign was saying one would get instructions, I didn't. Looking around, I did see an egg that stood out from the others when clicked on.

While there, I found a sign saying there will be a chance to get a picture with Patch Linden. The date was Friday April 7 from 1 to 3 PM.

Sunweaver Easter "Steampunk Egg" Hunt on Club Cutlass

Easter won't be here until Sunday April 9. But already there's some Easter-themed fun. Every year, Shockwave Yareach has an egg hunt somwhere in the Sunweaver community grounds. Once in a while, it's the "Alien Egg Hunt." But this year, you won't need to book a doctor's appointment in advance to get facehugger larvae removed as there won't be any of those guarding the eggs. But, they won't be easy to find.

This year, the hunt takes place on Club Cutlass.

It's nearly Easter!  And the mecharabbit that escaped from the lab bench has been busy.  Yes, there are 14 metalized ceramic steampunk eggs hidden
inside the airship, Cutlass.  Do you think you can find them all and claim the
steampunk prize that finding all 14 earns?

Did I mention how big the ship is?  (smile)

To take part, head to Club Cutlass, and on either side of the ship where the main entryway meets the dance floor are chocolate bunnies. Touch them to receive a basket and some instructions. The basked has to be held (worn or attached) at all times while you're looking for eggs. Each time you click on a different egg, it will appear in your basket. There are a total of fourteen to find.

So what's the catch? Well, Club Cutlass isn't just the dance floor, but a huge airship. While there are a couple eggs around the dancefloor area, most are in places not visited that often, "You will find them all over, in the halls and the rooms of the airship." They might be in the hangar. They might be on the gun decks. They might be in the engine room. For finding all fourteen, Shockwave promises, "a LARGE prize object to keep in your home, garage, moonbase, or library."

Shockwave would share credit with Cynthia Farshore and Rita Mariner, "Hope you have fun."

The "Eggfigy" Burn

Last week, the Newser reported on Burn ONe, an area built as a tribute to the early days of Burning Man that ended up becoming a temporary center of activity of many Burners as Deep Hole was temporarily closed. There have been a number of spontaneous events there, including one the Newser was a witness to, the burning of an egg-shaped effigy, or "Eggfigy" as it came to be called.

The Sunweaver Easter Egg Hunt

 *
Most years, Shockwave Yareach has a game up around Easter time for the community (and any friends of who hear about it). This year, it's an egg hunt game in a maze.

This year is very different.  First, the maze is MUCH larger to search for the eggs within.  As such, for the first time, you may SEE the layout of the game.  And to add to the fun, you can have friends walk on the ceiling and guide you to the eggs.

And you'll want the help.  Because you see, the eggs... wander... throughout the maze.  Are they in the halls?  Are they gathered near the bunnies?  Beats me.

Wear the basket, touch all the eggs and win a prize!!  Lots of fun.

To try out the hunt, head over to Sunweaver Eclipse (7,3,2001) and touch the chocolate bunny near the maze entrance. You'll get a copy of the rules and a basket, which you'll need to add. You then go around in the maze trying to find all fourteen eggs. When touched by your cursor, they appear in both the basket and your inventory.

The eggs scream when your avatar touches them. Though those familiar with other Easter mazes of Shockwave's may not mind it when something else does the screaming.

The maze will likely be taken down soon after Easter.

Linden Lab's Sping Egg Hunt

For those who like games, notably hunts, Linden Lab just announced "a most egg-cellent adventure." They're calling it their "Spring Egg Hunt."

Spring is in full swing, and that means the birds are singing, the bees are buzzing, and those Glytches are … well glytching!

We've scattered special eggs around various Regions throughout Second Life. Your task is to find the eggs, follow the clues inside, and if you make it to the end of the hunt, you’ll earn an exclusive prize!

This Spring hunt is only here for a week - so be sure to get hunting by April 24th, 2019 - or this prize will be lost forever.

The first clue is at Hartyshire (129/122/23), the hub location of the Glytches game. But you won't be hunting any of the little critters. Instead  you'll be looking for an egg. It isn't too hard to find, and when you do, you'll get a clue to the next location. Do not go directly there from the SURL. Instead, go to the sim via Portal Park. Once you find the egg and clue there, you can go ahead and directly teleport to the rest of the locations given to you. You should have little trouble finding the eggs, at least once everything rezzes as once the egg was among the last items to appear.

The final clue, you get not only an egg but a gift package. So what's in the package? You get a chair, a garden shed, a couple benches, and a number of smaller, decorative, items. If you're not into gardening or home decor, oh well, it was a fun little hunt.

The Egg Hunt ends on April 24, 2019.

Shockwave's "Alien Egg Hunt" Is Back

Shockwave Yareach's "Alien Egg Hunt" is back. In the past, it was a twisted take on an Easter egg hunt. But it fits in fine with Halloween. Players take on the role of someone searching the spaceship "Nostromo" for alien eggs and creatures. To play the game, you need a HUD, which can be picked up at the maze's start, and a gun that can function in the game. You can buy the one at the start for ten Lindens, or use your own. For the later, test it on the display egg to make sure it works.

For more information on the game, read Grease Coake's article from 2013.

The SL14B Gift Avatar

With most Second Life Birthdays in recent years, Linden Lab provides a gift avatar, The one this year is available as part of a "Special and somewhat mysterious gift set."

The avatar, at the included egg, are available on several spots on the SL14B grounds, at least until the sims close after Midnight July 2.  I got mine at a vending machine at SL14B Beguile (0/112/22/). The items are what the Lab calls a "Sananok" avatar, and a "mysterious egg."

"We’re not entirely sure what a Sananok is, but the Moles assure us they are friendly creatures that tend to keep to themselves and need a good home. Each Sananok avatar comes with a mysterious egg, which is  in fact so mysterious, not even the Moles know what it will hatch into." The egg jostles and moves a little bit when the avatar carries it around.

When Saffia Widdershins interviewed Patch and Dee Linden on June 19, Patch hinted the avatar and egg may be related to an upcoming game by the Lab in the late summer or early fall. So far, no hints what it might be.

Easter Town

Easter is almost here. And that means Easter Town is back. For every major holiday, Laura Liberty's Townies sim has a new look. And at this time of year, the sim becomes a tribute to the Easter Bunny and chocolate eggs. There you can ride a balloon, play several games and/or buy a few, take part in an egg-decorating contest, and more.

Sunweaver Bay Easter Egg Hunt

Shockwave Yareach is known for building a a number of things in the Sunweaver Estates, including the "Alien Egg Hunt" that's been up a few times at Easter. But this year, "I needed something new and different." So this year, an Easter Egg hunt in the Sunweaver Bay sim, "14 eggs hidden in all the common areas of the entire sim.  Find them all and get a unique relaxation prize. ...  I modded one of my own private relaxation devices into a special prize you cannot get any other way but to find all the eggs."

To play the game, head to The Drunken Parrot pub at  Sunweaver Bay (125, 90. 22). Between the kiosk and a sample Easter basket, there's a chocolate bunny. Touch the bunny for both the instructions and the basket. Wear/add the basket to do the hunt. Touch an egg, and a copy will appear in both your basket and your inventory. There are a total of 14 eggs.

So how hard are the eggs to find? Shockwave answered, "A couple are easy.  Some are devilish (deviled eggs). But nothing is in private areas.  Public area of the sim, but that's a LOT of hiding spaces. You don't have to fly or scubadive."

You'll also find a vendor for a clean brass Edison bulb table lamp where you get the basket. It costs 100 Lindens, the money going to Team Sunbeamers.

So far, after a quick look around the sim, I found one egg. And it's at ... well, you shouldn't have too hard a time finding it. Any 'ol pigeon should be able to see it. Shockwave didn't say how long his hunt would be up, but it should be around at least until Easter, which this year is April 17.

"Brought to you by Shockwave Yareach, Cynthia Farshore, and the Sunbeamers."

Happy egg hunting.

Sunweaver Bay (125, 90. 22)

*Addition* The number of eggs, 14, wasn't originally given. It's since been corrected.

Wonder Egg Hunt

Gemma Cleansalte recently attended a Relay for Life event by the Fighting Sunflowers team. Taking place in an "Alice in Wonderland" themed area, kid and grown avatars alike took part in a hunt for Easter Eggs. And unlike the story, the Red Queen didn't go after anyone's head.
