Scenes At The SLB: Pony Play
I had a spare five minutes the other day, so I decided to check out the SL Birthday. I noticed a large group of dots on the map in the exhibit area, so curious I TPed over. Once the red clouds, most of them, cleared away, what I saw was a herd of ponies running around. I noticed something else; they were rolling what looked like a large egg around. The third thing I noticed, there was someone inside.
I'd seen this group of ponies before at the Fantasy Faire running around, and now here they were at the SLB, having found something to roll around. They went past me, and headed down some road.
As for the lady in the egg, SarahKB7 Koskinen, she's been in the paper a few times, such as wanting to be the first to sail between two newly connected continents.
One random scene at the Second Life Birthday.

New Expansion in Eastern Bellisseria Allows Travel By Boat To Blake Sea
With the Second Life Birthday behind them, the Moles have gone back to working on new Linden homes on the land of Bellisseria. Among them are a number of sims just west of the southern tip of the continent of Satori. The bulk of these sims look like they're designated to hold houseboats, though the sandy area on the very northern tip are for something else and there's an empty space that for now doesn't have any sims.
But there's a little something that makes this expansion different, especially if you like boating. Two all-water sims, SSPSteady On and SSPDeep Anchor, connect these sims, and the rest of Bellisseria, to the older mainland continent.
While there was a connection several sims to the south a year ago, the way the sims were built didn't allow for boat travel further up the coast, even if ban lines weren't a problem. With this new waterway, this time boating can be done up the Satori coast, and go east to a favorite area of sailing fans: The Blake Sea.
While someone else was the first to tell the Newser about the connection, SarahKB7 Koskinen would later do so to announce an accomplishment, being the first to document sailing from Bellisseria to the Blake sea (image from Sarah).
A little something that weekend sailors and serious boaters will enjoy.

"It All Starts With A Prim" - Oldest Known Prim Rezzed 20 Years Ago
So how old is the oldest known prim in Second Life? While the world officially went online on June 23 2003, 18 years ago, people were here when it was in beta, so some objects are known to be from early 2003 or even late 2002. But what about January 25, 2002, twenty years ago yesterday?
Yesterday I found out this oldest known prim (to be technical, a copy of, but it retains the creation date) was on display at the Ivory Tower of Prims sandbox, courtesy of SarahKB7 Koskinen. It was a safe that when clicked on, the door opened to show the prim. And when examined, it showed the date: Friday January 25, 2002, 8:46 PM. Twenty years old.
There was no creator listed, as it had been made before Second Life's tools could show who made objects. According to Inara Pey, it was an Avi Bar-Zeev who not only rezzed it, but was the creator of prims. Talking to Philip Rosedale in Second Life's early days, Philip was trying to figure out how to make them, and Zeev offered to, "wrote a couple of hundred lines of code to make all the primitives in the world, with various knobs and capabilities to stick them together."The safe is no longer at the Ivory Tower sandbox, the item being returned at Midnight. But later, to commemorate the Prim's creation, SarahKB7 headed to Da Boom, the oldest sim on the Grid, and exactly at 8:46PM rezzed the original prim, then a brand new one over it, "The 2 prims are exactly 20 years of age apart. I will call my newer prim the +20 Prim!"
Happy anniversary to the Prim, and thank you Avi Bar-Zeev.
Addition: Sarah would later message me, saying I made a slight mistake with the phrase "It all starts with a prim," saying, "the actual correct phrase has always been 'It all starts with a cube' (smile)."
