Ghost of Christmas Past - The Xmas Tree That Won't Stay Packed Away

 

Taken at the Newser office in HV Community. No, this isn't Christmas in July. In December, we at the Newser put up some Christmas decorations, including a few trees, this one going on the ground floor. And in January, they were picked up. But there was one small problem. The ground floor Christmas tree returned. 

 

We kept trying to pick it up, and it kept reappearing. It was as if the Ghost of Christmas past was determined to haunt our office. 

 

So the tree remains, for now. Maybe one day when we try to pick it up, it will stay picked up.

It Came From Bellisseria Chat: Ways To Die In Second Life

 

 

Posted by Margo Heartsong in Bellisseria chat, one of her Halloween decorations showing ways to die in Second Life. For those who have trouble reading the tombstone, it says "Caught in a laggy region." Margo would say, "This one is the worst (kind of) death" in Second Life. Someone would add, "A slow and painful death."

 With Veterans Day over, the next holiday in the United States is Thanksgiving. So Gemma went by a store, and got this decoration for the office. 

 

Guess a little bit of "Pilgrim's Pride."

Announcement: Harmony of Hope's Egg Decorating Competition!

This competition is to benefit Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.

*Please read these rules carefully. Eggs that do not follow the guidelines below will not be accepted.

The Challenge: To build what you consider the perfectly decorated egg. Real eggs have limits. SL eggs don't. Think out of the box, put your personality on exhibit and let those creative juices flow!

The rules are simple:

There will be 20 platforms. Pay the small kiosk an entry fee of 300 Lindens and that plot will be yours.  The small kiosk will be removed and a popular vote kiosk will be put in its place. It's that simple!

- You are allowed 35 prims to make you Egg unique.
- Use only the egg, your prims, and NEW prims, created by you
- You may use the sculpted egg provided or
   use your own prim egg.
  
- Your egg must be ready to be judged by 10:00 am slt. on 3/20/16

If you need a head start IM TS Darrow for a blank egg.

Their will be 2 winners.  One selected by our judges and one by popular vote. Popular vote consists of friends, family and group members donating to the kiosk next to you build. When voting closes the build with the highest kiosk total wins.

Judges will judge your egg on presentation, creativity and uniqueness.

Winners will be announced by 5pm. Slt.on 3/20.  You do not need to be online to win.

Winners will get: Bragging rights, fame and last but not least a basket of Gift Cards and Prizes!

Festive Holiday Trimmings

It is that time of year again. I know you are all looking for holiday décor. I have been around to some of the winter sims that are selling really lovely trees, wreaths , lighting, for expensive prices. Take a trip over to the Corner of Relaxation Geo-dome. As usual Vickijo Rivera has a huge assortment of all the possible décor you would like. The best thing is that it is all free!

I found Saucy Loire placing it all for you. Characters from the comics, fat jolly Santas, Rudolf, glowing balls to hang, lights to string across your doorway, an amazing selection of trees of all sizes and colors. In the dome you will also find a tp that will take you up to Sweetsister’ Silverstar’s place in the sky where she has many delightful items for the holiday at very cheap prices. Outside you will find some of Saucy’s builds , Gingerbread houses, trains, and more. I saw a whole skating rink our there for sale.

Take a tour all around the outside of the Dome. Just be sure you get there soon! Relaxation (89, 167, 42)

Ghoulish Delights

Well, after looking at the fun activities going on in sl as reported by Grey and Bixyl, I went to look for some décor at my favorite freebie holiday décor place: Relaxation, The Corner of Revolving time.

Vickijo Rivera, the owner always makes sure there are great free items there in the Geodome. This year Sweetsister Silverstar has placed some wonderful ghosts and ghouls for your taking. I picked up some wonderful trees to put on my roof and some pumpkins and scary textures that are low prim, all free.

Outside in the garden area Saucy Loire put some really cute inexpensive items to decorate the outside of your home or island. There is also a TP spot to take you up in the sky where Sweetsister has some terrific bargain items to round out the decorations. There I bought some arches, and floating ghosts which I have been leaving around various places where I can rezz them.

Don’t miss it the day is approaching fast!
