For those who have trouble reading the tombstone, it says "Caught in a laggy region." Margo would say, "This one is the worst (kind of) death" in Second Life. Someone would add, "A slow and painful death."

Remembering Breezes Babii

It was a year ago yesterday, September 9, 2017, in which Breezes Babii, a close friend of the Newser and a valued member of the Tombstone community, had passed away. She had been a reporter for the Newser's predecessor, the Second Life Newspaper, which was run by her SL daughter Dana Vanmoer. Her "Breezes Thoughts" were a remembered part of Dana's paper. When the old SLN folded, Breezes would send a number of articles and postcards to the Newser over time, many about her adventures in Tombstone. Several days after her death, she would be given a memorial service in Tombstone, the virtual community which had become her home here.

A year later, Gemma Cleanslate (and Chigadee London), and I would both visit her memorial site, taking a few minutes to recall the fun we had in the past. Gone perhaps, but not forgotten. No doubt she'll be remembered.

Tombstone Says Goodbye to Breezes Babii

On Sunday September 17, the Tombstone community gave it's goodbye to one of it's noted members: Breezes Babii. In the Old West roleplay community, she didn't have an especially prestigious position such as town mayor, ranch owner, or sharpshooter. But she won the hearts of both the other characters and their players alike, as well as having many friends on the outside, such as the Relay for Life and the Second Life Newser. People from all three and more would get together to give their farewells to their beloved friend.

Reader Submitted: Breezes Babii and Tombstone

With the passing of Breezes Babii almost a week ago, her friends have been looking back at memories of her.  For those in the Tombstone Wild West roleplaying community, she was a friend and neighbor whom was involved in many things. Adrian Wise, the town mayor, put his thoughts to pen with a reader submission.

Remembrances of an Angel

Yesterday, a friend and former writer of the Second Life Newser, Breezes Babii, passed away. Breezes had a history here in the virtual world that covered over ten years and countless adventures, many which she described in the Second Life Newspaper, of which Editor Dana Vanmoer was part of her virtual family, and a few in the Second Life Newser early on in it's history. She was a friend to many in both papers, including Gemma Cleanslate. Gemma wrote about her memories of "Bree" as she was sometimes called, as she took part in roleplay communities, shopped around stores, struggled with home decorating, and much more.

Breezes Babii Passes Away

Breezes Babii is gone.

Breezes had been in poor health for some time, but in June things took a turn for the worse,  The Newser was notified today that she had passed away just after 10AM SL time. She is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Longtime readers will remember Breezes as one of the reporters of JamesT Juno and Dana Vanmoer's Second Life Newspaper, noted for her lighthearted "Breezes Thoughts" column. She would write briefly for the Newser early in it's history. She was also a member of the Tombstone Old West Roleplay area and community.

Rest in peace, our friend and colleague.

Breezes Babii in Poor Condition

Some sad news about a longtime friend of the Second Life Newser. Breezes Babii, whom has been in poor health, has been described as getting worse.

Breezes was described by Dana Vanmoer, the editor of the Second Life Newspaper as her "SL Mother," and was noted for her "Breezes Thoughts" columns. She would write briefly for the SL Newser. She has been a longtime member of the Tombstone Western community, whom is hopping for not just a recovery, but for her to get completely well.

Wedding Bells: Breezes Babii Gets Married

Longtime readers of the Newser may remember Breezes Babbii. Best noted for her "Breezes Thoughts" of our predecessor paper, the Second Life Newspaper, she would later write some for the Newser about the Tombstone community she was a part of and other subjects. On Saturday April 23, she and her new partner Atlore Osaya (also part of Tombstone) were married. The ceremony took place high above the Terra del Sole sim.

Afterwards, the couple and guests went to a reception, where they danced for a while.

We at the Newser wish the couple many years of health and happiness.

Traveling Circus in Tombstone

Gemma Cleanslate was recently invited to the Tombstone Wild West RP sim for a special event. The town was hosting a traveling circus, which did quite a performance. With all the sights, Gemma was busy with her camera, and took lots of screenshots.

Reader Submitted: Tombstone, Roleplay in the Wild West

Deesue Parx recently sent Second Life Newser a reader submission about a roleplay area: Tombstone. Set in the Arizona Territory at the end of the 19th Century, this Wild West RP has gone on for a few years. There, one can take on a variety of roles from townsfolk, to outlaw, to Apache Indian, to your run of the mill cowboy.

Kev Sweetwater's Burn2 Memorial Service

Last week, the Burn2 community lost one among them when Kev Sweetwater passed away. On Saturday May 19th, a memorial service/wake was held for him at Deep Hole, attended by his friends in the Burners, the Tombstone RP, and elsewhere. The end of the service was marked as only the Burn2 community can: with a ceremonial temple burn.
